Hi Folks,
I'm new to this forum and wondered if you can help me. I'm trying to build up a collection of useful info/facts on Meat and/or Jim for project i'm starting soon. Can anyone help :??:
Cheers

Hi,
For information on Jim Steinman there is no better place than http://www.jimsteinman.com
But have you done a search on both names yet? So many great sites can be found that way.
A project? Sounds very intriguing!
Good luck,
Di

Hi Di :D
I have joined Jim's Rockman Record site and put a similar question up there too. Certain bits I have.
Reason why i'm doing this project is that i'm a huge Meat and Jim fan (that's why I set up a tribute band to their talents) but I find it so frustrating that no one place is an authorative source of data, facts, insights, anecdotes etc for either of these men. I search relentlessly but to coin some lyrics from Life is a Lemon, the Search Engines, "they're defective"! So I thought that I would see if I could develop a webarea myself so folks like me could get a reasonable amount of information all under one roof so to speak. I had the idea that with the data coming from fans for the fans, it connects us all together!
I'm even running a competition on my website with a collectible to give away to see if I can pull these factoids together...I guess that's devotion for you :?
But thanx for the idea...please keep them flowing.
Cheers,
Andrew W

 Hi Andrew.
Welcome to the forums :D .
To correct something on your site, Meat's real name is Michael Lee Aday.
He was christened Marvin Lee, but had had his name legally changed by deed poll  .
By far the best research material you can get hold of is Meat's autobiography "To Hell And Back".
There are also the Bat Out Of Hell and Storytellers DVD's available.
As this seems to taking a tribute angle, i'm gonna move this over to Off Topic  .
Hmmm... think there is internet. Most of the stuff you can find on the net. Offcourse you also can read the autobiography, look in papers or magazines and put a puzzle together. The same way we all do.
Another tribute band??? God help me.....noooooo!!!

 Hi Tim,
Thanks for the info...much appreciated...I think you crystalised my point of doing this...it's all over the place and needs some centralisation to help fans (and new fans in particular) get info with a degree of ease :!:
As to your other comment...this thread is nothing to do with the tribute band (but I have posted in another thread http://www.mlukfc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4581 "another tribute band".
All the best.

 Following a reasonable request, i've agreed to move this thread back to GM.
Please keep this thread on topic about gathering info about Meat, rather than discussing tributes  .
Either that, or talk about a Meat Movie, so we can go to Loaf Camera Action.
Then talk about wether the thread should have been moved, so then I can move it to site feedback.
We could have a conga through the forums
