Now that's quite interesting, because a Google search for transparent PNGs not working in Internet Explorer finds thousands of hits.
It does not work with IE 5.5+ unless you use a rather complex workaround.

However, I have modified the theme and installed the workaround.
It does look the same now with IE 6, with the exception of the two title images.
