It really sucks doesn't it Vicki :( And it's totally stupid as well. If you think about it, it's us nutters who go to multiple shows that actually buy the majority of the fanclub tickets. If they limit us to 4 each then they're really going to lose a lot of money  Because it's not like theres tons of people queueing up to buy the ones we wont be buying.

I've got to go to the Cardiff date. Even if it means cancelling a show of my own. I'm a little bit annoyed, as I just spent close to £100 on a ticket for Wembley on the 6th, but feck it! IN for a penny etc

PS if anyone wants to book me a VIP ticket, and have me paypal them the cash, then that'll be grand!

We had the same conversation last night Deb, they're going to lose so much money on this...

I'm confused though, say Meat did 10 dates with this "4 tickets only" rule, surely by the end of those 10 there wouldn't be anyone to buy the tickets because we've all used our quota of 4?! Or am I missing something?!

You'd think they'd be quite happy to sit back in their offices laughing at the likes of us who spend a frightening amount on tickets whilst taking our money!

RadioMaster

youre nuts

AndyK
04 Jul 2007, 12:04
Question is though, at which point does the 4 ticket rule kick in? If you've already bought VIP tickets for the second leg, do they count as part of the 4? In my opinion they shouldn't do as that "rule" wasn't announced during that sale, so it should be 4 from now.

Of course since it's July 4th, getting an answer out of anyone in fanfire today just isn't going to happen is it!

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 12:08
After we discussed it last night there's just no way that that rule can apply to the VIPs we've already bought - they can't announce a rule and restriction about something that's already happened surely...there'll be hell on if they do!

RadioMaster
04 Jul 2007, 12:11
did actually anyone already got to that 4 tickets point?

I personally dont have any clue about this, but from the logical point of view: couldnt that be a mistake and mean 4 per show? would make MUCH more sense to me.

SamCat
04 Jul 2007, 12:13
May be its so other people get a chance to be at the front but they've underestimated how determined we are!! Anyway isn't the 2nd leg the Seize the Night tour so technically its a different one and everyone can buy another 4 tickets!!

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 12:14
As far as I know it's 4 tickets per tour - the same rule applied in the US presale.

And if this 4 tickets rule did apply to the 5 UK dates that were already announced then there are people who are already up to 4

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 12:15

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 12:18
I reckon its just from any that get announced from now.

Hmmm hadnt thought about the 4th July bit. Crap lol.

BTW these two shows are standing shows. IE GA. So if theyre going to inforce the 4 tickets per tour rule, shouldnt we all boycott this presale and save our quoto for a seat ? £109 for a standing ticket is taking the pee to say the least

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 12:18
Can someone help me out here...these "4 tickets", are they 4 VIP tickets or any 4 tickets from the presale?

SamCat

Why don't they make things clear!!

The fact it doesn't state VIP tickets, implies to me that it's 4 tickets in total. If our ancestors hadn't let the US be independant, then they wouldn't all be on holiday today and perhaps we'd get some answers to our questions!

SamCat
04 Jul 2007, 13:39
I just phoned Fanfire and was told that the 2nd leg is a different tour but i'm ringing back later to confirm that with a supervisor!!

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 13:42
So the second leg is November 8th onwards, and therefore the tickets we have for the shows from Glasgow through to Wembley don't count in the 4 tickets quota?

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 13:43
But we've already bought 5 tickets each for the 2nd leg :?

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 13:43
So the second leg is November 8th onwards, and therefore the tickets we have for the shows from Glasgow through to Wembley don't count in the 4 tickets quota?

They'll be counting the second leg from Glasgow.

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 13:46
If they count the second leg as Glasgow onwards then there's next to no-one left to buy tickets

AndyK
04 Jul 2007, 13:46
Weren't the initial second leg dates and ticket sales announced (and hence tickets bought) before they brought in this 4 ticket rule? If that's the case then they can't apply it retrospectively surely?

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 13:48
There's no way the 4 tickets rule applies to the shows that have been announced already, if it did we've already bought more tickets than we're allowed to!

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 13:49
They cant be counting them shows as i bought 16 bloody vips in that bit

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 13:51
Exactly, between Andy and me there's near enough the same amount been bought, VIP and normal tickets!

AndyK
04 Jul 2007, 13:56
Yes but they might take into account what has already been bought ... therefore stoppping anymore being purchased.

Ageing Bat
04 Jul 2007, 13:57
Well, that's made my mind up about renewing my membership for .net when it becomes due in a few months time. As much as I'm a fan and have been for more years than I care to remember, as much as I admire Meat, as much as I get so much pleasure from spending a few hours in the company of some pretty terrific people once in a while when I go to watch a concert, I have to say I'm disgusted with the way the paid fanclub members are continually shat upon by whoever it is management-wise at .net. If Meat is not aware of how his loyal fanbase is once again being treated by those running the fanclub ticket sales, then he should be. If he is aware, well, I'd best keep my thoughts to myself on that score, or I'll get banned from here!

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 13:57
But we've already exceeded 4 each, so the 4 only rule can't apply now we've broken it for those dates, surely?!

I'm sure it's from now on

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 13:59

lol Des! Gives you time to sleep at least ;-)

My worry is not necessarily the 5 dates, but what about tickets bought after a certain date? The majority of the 2nd leg tickets I've bought were bought before the 4 ticket limit was talked about ... but I think there's at least one show where tickets have been bought after that limit was announced ... does that count towards my quota?

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 14:23
Well that can't be right given Andy and I just used 26 tickets, not to mention the ones we sold on to other people lol

Does it say per tour again?

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 14:42

Deb

The problem is it doesn't mean per show but people still bought more than 4!!

If it meant per show, it didnt let me buy more than 4. I tried to go back in and buy better ones and it didnt let me. But it did let me buy more than one venue after i'd bought 4 tickets.

SamCat
04 Jul 2007, 14:54

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 14:59

That's never been a problem here, even had the office kept open late at night so I could get online in the days when I didn't have internet access at home :))

It would be nice to be able to just look forward to getting a ticket and then be excited about the extra dates that had been announced, rather than have to go through all this hassle each time wouldn't it?

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 15:49
It horrible, even through May there wasn't a sense of excitement for a show so much as relief to finally be there after all the hassle!

Deb

Yep a hassle free ticket sale would be wonderful :(

JulesB
04 Jul 2007, 16:04
Look on the bright side  at least you all have shows to buy tickets for! Seems the US tour is nothing but rescehdules and repeats, 4 states out of 50 seem to be the entire tour. :( If you don't live in the NY metro area you are pretty much SOL...

Deb

Ok i've spoken to Fanfire again and they know nothing!! They're pretty sure the 2nd leg is a different tour but there is no way of checking how many of your allowance you've got left til you try and buy some and they dont know if the VIP packages are included in the limit or not!!

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 16:33
So as it stands...we don't know if we can buy any of the tickets that we've all paid to have access to, Cardiff are advertising tickets for a show they know nothing about, and Nottingham have barely heard of Meat Loaf by the sounds of it...joy!

SamCat
04 Jul 2007, 16:34
They also said that there is no way that anyone has bought more than 4 tickets per tour cos they do lots of checks PMSL!!!

AndyK
04 Jul 2007, 16:34
Welcome to the world of Meat Loaf ticketting lol

heat
04 Jul 2007, 16:43
Now call me stupid if you like, but what's the difference between buying tickets for Nottingham and Cardiff before or after the presale date?

I could understand if they had been seated shows, but with them being standing, surely it all depends on how early you get there and how fast you can run to the front to get a good view?

You could pay extra to get into the batcave - but what exactly are you paying for? Perhaps an extra metre in viewing distance, a lamanated photo and a t-shirt?

Do i have a valid point or is it just me being dense???

AndyK
04 Jul 2007, 16:45
I guess those who are vertically challenged are paying for an increased chance of not standing behind someone at the show ...

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 16:46
Now call me stupid if you like, but what's the difference between buying tickets for Nottingham and Cardiff before or after the presale date?

That's why I called Nottingham, but they have no information.

Your theory of "queue then run like hell" for a standing show is what I'd go with, but the mention of this Bat Cave implies that you need the VIP ticket to get into an area that'll be sectioned off from non-VIP tickets...

Deb
04 Jul 2007, 16:48
If none of us buy this vip rubbish then tec there wont be a bat cave? would look a bit stupid empty or with 2 people in it :? I begrudge paying double to stand in front of others.

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 16:50
I'm really not happy about pay £109 for a standing show, not at all, but then for my own selfish reasons I want to be at the front, which is with a VIP ticket... :panic:

heat
04 Jul 2007, 16:50
I don't suppose it would have been too bad if we were actually told what this bat-cave entails. Then you could have an idea what you're paying for. Methinks a lot of people will buy VIPs thinking they'll get to meet Meat, and methinks there's likely to be a lot of dissapointed folks when they realise it's probably just a scam to get more money out of them.

In all honesty.. i couldnt justify spending £109 on a ticket knowing that i had no clue what it was i was actually paying for.

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 16:54
For £109 you get a VIP laminate, a Seize The Night t-shirt and access into "the bat cave" which is a VIP section at the front of the arena in front of the non-VIP people

It would, at the very least, be helpful to know whether or not we're even going to have the option of buying these VIP tixs!

I phoned Fanfire back - the supervisor is in now, but doesn't know anything - not even whether the info contained in the email they sent us is correct!!

I now have visions of there being about two people in the bat cave and a mob of angry Meat fans baying to be where they ae right behind them...

IF there is a Bat Cave then they'll fill it with fans...at which point there'll be a riot because half the fans in there will have paid £109 for access while others have had it handed to them for £55

Deb

exactly Lucy. Just like we paid £110 for vip for tm and tl to sell seats next to us for under half the price

And that is precisely why i won't be paying £109 for a VIP tix....

If none of us buy this vip rubbish then tec there wont be a bat cave? would look a bit stupid empty or with 2 people in it :? I begrudge paying double to stand in front of others.

I'm with you on this one Debs. Perhaps I'm just in a very bitter mood today, but it really does feel like 'lets suck some more money out of the fans'?

As usual I think you're right!!

And I really don't think there is much else we can do now anyway:?

There isn't anything we can do - venues don't know, fanfire don't know, .net is silent, websites are wrong...I say we just wait until the presale, after which we'll have facts to work with and we can go from there

Have just read though, on another thread, that Christa has contacted Nottingham Arena directly, and has been told that she can buy tickets from 10am tomorrow - two hours BEFORE the fanclub presale.

Does ANYONE know what the fecks going on???

LucyK!
04 Jul 2007, 17:12
Did you read my reply to Christa?

Three people have called Nottingham and three people have come away with three different pieces of information, so again we just have to see what happens tomorrow

Deb

Meat Loaf = Batman
VIP area = Batcave
Fanclub presale = Robin' (from the fans)

just sounds like a moshpit type thing...which i can't exactly imagine meat loaf fans jumping around slamming into one another in a frenzy

Well maybe RJ, Zina, Claire and possibly Lucy:D

I know a lot of bands who section off parts of the arena dedicated to those who pay more..ie Aerosmith, U2 and the like but in reality it'd have to be a massive arena and not the ones that are being talked about here.

I'd be totally laughing my ass off, if 'access to the batcave' would mean nothing but some website-access-thingie :lmao:

Is this definitely going to be 109 sterling as well, might it be cheaper because it's standing?

Sorry If this question has been asked already.

I only ask just incase there's a meet up of some sort planned?

LucyK!

The VIP packs for November were £109 including Glasgow which was primarily a standing show, so I can't see them being any less for a position in the area that's in front of where their fixed seating will be

allrevvedup
04 Jul 2007, 21:52
looking at the cardiff layout on ticketmaster it's basically like the point depot in that seating at the back and side and all standing in the middle.

As you'll prob know Lucy the seating at the Point is rubbish, so i doubt Cardiff would be any different.

I don't mind standing for a show, i do mind paying twice the price to stand in the same area as others

Monstro
05 Jul 2007, 00:09
Ok, dumb Monstro question............I'm looking at TWO layouts for the Cardiff arena, one seated and one standing, will the November gig be seated or standing?

05 Jul 2007, 00:23
I been to CIA twice, once to see Meat and that was standing, with seats round the sides and to the back, and then to see cbeebies live - twas for the kids really;) - and that time they had put seats up in main standing area.

Dunno if that helps any.

Am thinking they could probably sell more tickets if it were standing as they'd get more in... i think:?

the War Of The Worlds shows in Dec are all seated, but I'm pretty certain that the ML show will be standing. I've been to loads of Meat shows in the CIA and they've all been standing.

The VIP Bat Cave tickets are £100 plus a £5 order fee, so there are a little cheaper than the seated shows, but not much

Cardiff is both seated and standing, the prices are...... £39 standing + £46 seated plus booking fee, ticket's go on sale the 6th July.

Now that's weird.

I would have thought that the standing were more expensive then the seated as you were nearer the front?

They can't charge you more for literally just admission into the venue, the use of a seat is always more

I'm really annoyed now-I've just bought 2 tix from .net-GA standing which came out at £50 each with booking fee included. This was before I read about the 'bat cave' and before I realsied I could get the same ticket for bout £20 less from ticketmaster! Any idea what time I should start queuing at Cardiff to get anywhere near the front? I;m seriously p***** off!

But at Bristol they charged more for standing, i think.

The standing tix i got was £55 inc fees whilst the seated tix were only £35
