Am I the only one thinking his voice sucks? :))

He's a genius as far as lyrics are concerned but he did the right choice by giving up singing.

He's miming to Rory Dodd's voice. So what you're saying is you think Rory Dodd's voice sucks? Couldn't agree with you less on that.

Steinman was not a bad singer, it's just that Meat was so much better. Meat's Rock And Roll Dreams is waaaaay better than Rory Dodd's.

Steinman isn't an awful singer - he sure as hell isn't a great singer but he's not terrible...

The problem with a lot of the songs on Bad For Good that he sings is that they're out of his natural range. Rory Dodd's vocal range is a lot closer to what's needed for a lot of those songs but I'm not a fan, nothing to do with tuning or anything I just don't like the sound of his voice

Anyone Heard jim Sing AFL it was pretty bad, but i mustt admit jim did take "Bad for Good" a little to far, i was listen to an interview and he said he wanted "Bad For Good" to be more succesful than "Bat Out of Hell" and more poweful, but yeah rite as if that was gonna happen Meats Voice is much more powerful than Jims.

Jim Steinman did not sing at the Over The Top concerts in 2005-06. Rob Evan and Jeremy Kushnier did. And to the best of my knowledge, there are no 1989 live recordings of Jim. So I don't know what you're getting at, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

nah, dont worry.

If I didnt misread Lucy's post she didnt say he cant sing, she just said the BfG songs are out of his range and that's why they dont sound good, which is acutally I point I totally agree with.
Look at the graveyard shift, he does a great job on that one.

I don't think asking "if I'm the only one who thinks Jim's voice sucks" (as Patricia did) is really that stupid, we all have different opinions here, and Patricia's is as valid as anyones, even if you don't agree with it. It certainly doesn't deserve to be treated with that level of rudeness. Discussion yes, personal abuse, No!

To make it clear...my post was as RJ said...I'm not saying that Steinman cannot sing, I'm saying that, in my humble opinion, a lot of the songs he sings on BFG are out of his range so he isn't singing comfortably, which creates a singing sound that isn't to my liking, it sounds strained.
