View Full Version : best officially broadcast or Released Concert?
These are all above OFFICIAL Live broadcasts on TV, DVD , or VHS.
This is hard but I'm torn between MSO (Which has the best OOTFP i have ever witnessed) ,or BA Live (Which has a bunch of songs live from my fav. album ever, Bad Attitude). 3 Bats live sounds good, so i won't vote till i get my copy and figure which one i really like best.
I had to vote MSO cos it was amazing for lots and lots of reasons!!!

 Duplicate thread deleted, and this one moved to LCA.
IMHO this is a convo that should take place after everyone has had a chance to have a few listens (or at least ONE :wtf: ) to be able to form an opinion, but what the hell.
I have gone with MSO also. To me, it seemed to be put together alot better than other shows, lighting effects better, orchestra amazing. Although I do like the blow up band members in Break It on 3 Bats Live. But MSO just gets it for me. :D

Was close, really close, but between MSO and Storytellers I went for MSO. I'm sorry but these (IMO) are streets ahead of 3 Bats Live.

My mistake, i meant "History of Meat Loaf Live", but he title escaped me and didn't feel like looking for my ipod
Given I've not seen Three Bats I'd go for MSO and Neighbourhood...Neighbourhood is more of a personal one as my first show was on that tour so that has memories of a really Meaty time for me, but based on the show alone it would be MSO

I went with history, was hard to choose, but this one has the best version of objects ive ever seen.
Obviously can't comment on 3 Bats live yet, although from what I've heard it sounds like it could well be up there with the best ... having said that each era of Meat's live shows have been fantatsic in their own right ... so far though I think it's a tie between Bad Attitude (and not just because my arms on it lol) and MSO.

as great as the show is, the editing is awful....
fading out after the "way too late" bit of BOOH....could have killed them when i watched it the first time

That's why I said 'full concert'!
I know Roll Over Beethoven was done as an encore too.

I dont think we (at least I) can judge the new dvd compared to the other ones yet. Now we think its great, as it's new, Id rather wait a few months till i make my decision about that one.
btw, wasnt mexico city 03 an "official broadcast" as well?

But only as a freebie on a pay-per-view channel in US if I am not mistaken. I don't really know if Mexico should be classed as everone would not have seen this, and I don't really think it would top any of the mentioned concerts, as this was the period Meat was not well, if I am correct, and although gives his best, does not come anywhere near the others. :D

Apparently as someone told me on youtube ages ago that they filmed the whole show but only sold some of the songs to music choice... meaning there's a whole load of songs on tape in an archive center somewhere either in the US or Mexico and I think it should be released for dvd... Someone upload Dead Ringer from that show ages ago....

But the quality of the whole thing is utter shite, therefore no-one in their right mind would be voting for it in this poll!
I thought the sound quality was good, but filming was kinda rough. You can hear meat loud and clear, but the band is Monotoned in the background and are barley heard under Meat's Voice making it sound a bit weird.
Reason i didn't place it here was because i remember having a discussion with some forum people here about how meat was outraged when i fan came up and had him sign a live in Mexico DVD or something (obviously meaning he didn't authorize it).

guess he wouldnt be less upset if you gave him a copy of history, meltdown or neighbourhood to sign
O.K., how about these three officially broadcasted gigs:
> ROCKPALAST - Live at Stadthalle Offenbach 1978-11-06
> ROCKPOP IN CONCERT - Live in Dortmund 1982
> Live at HARDROCK CAFE 1999
IMO good things to look & listen ...
