Yeah, I was really shocked too!
A lot of credit does go to you Diane as I wouldn't have pressed for info if you'd not have spotted stuff :)
I really didn't think it would happen with the 3 being on different labels!
Should have more info on what is in the box soon :)
Is this a ~~~~ing limited edition like the limited edition of 3 bats dvd? Oh yes, still didn't get the dvd...
The 3 Bats is a limited edition. A limited number are pressed and released then no more. This makes it a limited edition.
Sales notes say 'Bat Out Of Hell Trilogy - Luxury Box Set - Limited Tour Edition'

Well it does look like the same box set that Play.com & HMV have up on their sites but everyone has different release dates :?:
Townsend - 5th Nov.
HMV - 12th Nov.
Play.com - 26th Nov.
It would make sense though to release it during the tour.
I really didn't think it would happen with the 3 being on different labels!
Me neither.

Oh well, just tried to buy it from Townsend and even with my updated card it still wouldn't accept it so I give up ~ will have to get it from somewhere else.

If it's just the 3 Bat CD's then it's a bit pointless for most people here. Hopefully it will have some other stuff in there too.

We can always live in hope...
The did something like this with rod stewart and it was a fantastic box set with history book in it, have a look in your local hmv for it. I think it was the great american song book. Check that out.
Ames, what sort of card are you trying to use?

sounds like something for the collectors if there isn't any new or bonus stuff added!
There'll be a box to keep them all in ... that's something new at the very least.

13 quid for a box?
I've paid more for less ...

Do you think there might be someone we know who'll be first in the queue!!
If the only difference is the packaging then I'll certainly buy it but I won't be rushing out to get it on release day, certainly not mid-tour
To bad they didn't add anything new on it.
Or maybe that will come.

Looks like something I won't be buying, I can't see the point. Had they included, something like demo's and outtakes or something like that, then fair enough, but I can't get my jollies over a box

Have you got anymore info on this release yet? November 5ths only a week and a bit away.
Maybe you can clear something up for me. I just viewed the Meat Loaf Discography section of the Townsend site and there are two Meaty packs listed for November.
One we know about, the "Bat Out Of Hell Trilogy - Luxury Box Set - Limited Tour Edition" complete with price, picture and 5th November date.
The other is called "Bat Out Of Hell Vol.1-3" with a 12th November date and no price or pic yet. Is this the "non-luxury box set" version?
is this only a UK release or in other countries too?
Hope to other contries.....
Not worth my time at all without the new track recordings by meat as i have heard would come exclusive with the boxset. I thought those tracks would conssist of old Steinman material (Hopefully dance in my pants and Stark raving Love) and new.

meat doing stark raving love?
thats something I dont wanna imagine...

Actually, I can kind of picture Meat doing it if he just gave the song a chance, maybe if it were re-arranged along the lines of something like "Pig" or "All Revved Up" live, a real tub-thumping bar song about the back beat of the city on a Saturday night. And Paul Crook would have a hell of a time with that guitar finale.

Never in my wildest dreams, (and I do have them ) would I ever thought Stark Raving Love would be called tub-thumping :nope: Toe-tapping maybe, but tub-thumping?...:wtf:

I would love Meat to do Dance, but I can't stand Stark Raving Love. Starts off okay, but just descends into pointless noise.
Have not even unwrapped mine yet, awaiting a second copy as I like to have a shrink wrapped copy to keep.......
the suspense is killing me.........:-P
