I assume you mean the box set.......... That's not so bad......... Re-release of Bat 3 is what we need with maybe a few extras.
This has nothing to do with Mercury, it was a Sony/BMG release.
As mentioned many times, Mercury are done with Bat 3.
I've heard a story as to why its gone, but not sure if I can say!! :(

is it because of a secret terrorist plot to kidnap Diane Warren for writing so many songs that are so full of syrup not even those with all 32 sweet teeth would go near them?

why not tell us? They wouldn't of told you it if they didn't want it getting out.... or they would of said "Keep this quiet" but its upto - I don't want to get you into trouble now.
Will they release anything else in replace of that? A New single perhaps?

what you mean good luck... you think it won't happen don't you.
I rekon that if they released BAAB or IGCT or WAL then it would do really really well.... come on 3 Bats Live got to number 2 this week :-)

Ross, I get in a fair bit of trouble from stuff I put up here lol. Got some serious heat from Classic rock not long back, but its all fun.
The comment from the guy at Sony was more of an opinion than an official line.

I realise it did but as Kev seems to have said the record company seems to be finished with Bat 3 so I wouldn't hold out much hope for a 3rd single considering Cry over me went down faster then those on the receiving end of a tackle from Jonah Lomu

must admit, COM was a suprise when they said they were releasing it... It is a good song but not strong enough to stand the charts of today

hmmm.....
im my mind there could be two reasons for this:
a) they dont expect a decent number of sales or
b) they plan for something bigger, like the rumoured "BOOH: conclusions & climaxes" project, and dont want another booh box set to be released earlier...

even if you dont believe it, im sure there are quite a number of non-members visting this site for info on ML, so the info didnt just went out to US, but to everybody else reading these forums.

I thought you couldn't read the forums if you weren't a member??
This trilogy thingmyjig sounded kinda boring anyway. Why don't they release something like:
"Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back LIVE 1977-2007"
-10 Disc Live career retrospective set containing rare and unreleased live recordings from 3 decades of Rock history-

as far as i know you can read but you cant view the pictures
only few artists really do those mega collections.
(i always like to mention Genesis here, who brought out two absolutely great collections though the last few years with all albums + for every album a dvvd with making ofs, live shows, b sides, etc.
Id really like to see the Loaf do something like that, although wed have to pay 100+€ for that...+
Although sadly with the promo screw up over the last few years i dont really see it happening :(

but thats what people want, isnt it?
i dont think a lot of people out there care about demos or rare live stuff, there looking how to get all three albums as cheap as possible.

Yeh you're right. Although I have all three albums the best prezzie I can think of for christmas is to get them all again for as cheap as possible.

I never thought of it that way. I forgot there are some people who don't have ANY of the BOOH series (Most people i talk at least have the first Bat).

The first non-ML fan EVER?
That can't be possible. Meat might be famous but I don't think he REALLY has 35 million FANS.

I have a variation on AndrewG's idea, one that will make Meat Loaf's catalogue more known and expand sales of all albums. Stop me if you like it.
MEAT LOAF
To Hell and Back, Vol. 1
Released by special arrangement with Rare Earth/Prodigal, Epic/Cleveland International, and Arista
Vol. 1: Stoney and Meat Loaf, Bat Out of Hell, Dead Ringer, Midnight at the Lost and Found, Bad Attitude
MEAT LOAF
To Hell and Back, Vol. 2
Released by special arrangement with Arista, Virgin/MCA, and Mercury
Vol. 2: Blind Before I Stop, Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, Welcome to the Neighborhood, Couldn't Have Said it Better, Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose
MEAT LOAF
To Hell and Back, Vol. 3
Released by special arrangement with whoever gives clearance
Vol. 3: all the lesser known Meat Loaf tracks, outtakes, B-sides, rarities, etc.
Sort of a long-term Meat Loaf Anthology, if you will.

i think something like that might happen...but first when he really ended his career. (maybe after his death)
now we dont even know for sure if bat3 was his last album :S

Did he not recently sign another two album deal?
As far as his voice in the studio goes it sounded better than ever on Bat 3 and CHSIB imo.

:?
two albums doesnt necessarily have to be two studio albums. could be old live stuff, or another 'proper' best of release, etc
Although IF he'll do another studio album, i dont see it happen before 2010

Amen to that Borther.
I'd go with another LATW and Very Best type of Album. To be honest those 2 are the best compilations ever.
Mabey something like "The Truly best of Meat Loaf" and "Live and Reloaded" or something....... God those titles suck

I'd rather see some new original work. Perhaps an acoustic album; just Meat, a guitar, a piano, the odd fiddle here and there and some other simple acoustic instruments and of course some great songs. There are countless good songwriters out there, I'm sure Meat knows someone who can help out. I think it would be refreshing in a way going back to the roots and it wouldn't be odd either, lots of artists do that kinda stuff in their sixties.
