I am running the Race For Life this month in memory of my mother and father-in-law who both died of cancer within 3 years of each other. If anyone would like to sponsor me please follow the link below. Any donations would be very much appreciated and all the money will go towards fighting this terrible illness. Thank you.

Thank you so much all of you who have sponsored me so far. So sorry to hear about all the loved ones you have lost. Unfortunately it is so common but hopefully through events like Race For Life we will manage to get some break throughs in the fight against Cancer. Best wishes to you all.

 When people have posted charity events/drives in the past, we've stickied the thread for a month to leave the thread on page 1 of off topic.

No reason not to do that with this thread too

my friend had breast cancer, she staved that off by having a breast removed, only to find out a year later she had throat cancer, she went thru lengthy treatment for that and that aslo is contained but a few months ago they found a brain tumour and wont treat her, so now she is preparing herself and her children for the worst :(
It really does happen to the best people :(:( more research is definatly needed but it's worth remembering they are making progress all the time and alot fewer people are taken from this world as a result, consider me signed up.

I'm sorry for your losses Elaine, good luck with the race and everything.

Thanks again to everyone who has donated so far. If people can't afford it I totally understand so really don't worry about it. I am a fifth of the way towards my target of £100 so that is great. Must get some more training in before the big day!

 I've deleted 4 posts off this thread, starting with a post which could have used a little more tact and thought, and resulting convo.

Please remember what this thread is about, and respect that.
Quibbling on this thread is a no no :nope:

If you are unable to donate in a financial way to Elain's sponsored run, i'm sure she would be grateful for messages of encouragement from the people who post here.
There is no reason to post personal reasons why you cannot donate, but there is nothing to stop you posting messages of support.
