Apparently there are on average 5 parasitic round worms for every 3.2Kg of fillets of white fish sold in the UK. The maximum amount of worms allowed in fish is 5 for every 1 kilo. And only worms that are 3mm in diameter and 1cm in length are counted

Too late, Pud, too late! By some strange coincidence, just about everyone who met at the bar before this evening's show was tucking in to fish-finger sandwiches. I tried to inform them as to the error of their ways, but to no avail ...

It depends what make of fish fingers they are. Just like sausages, fish fingers only have to contain a certain amount of fish to be technically called a fish finger and out of that only a certain percentage has to be fillet, the rest being made up of reconstituted fish.

Or reconstituted worms

So, what you're saying is that if they were cheap fish fingers then perhaps there were pretty good odds of each fish finger not having any worms in it?

I'm sure they all feel a lot better at that news ...

And worms apparently...

Please remind me to skip fish products in December...on the other hand...to be in England and not eat fish and chips is a CRIME...so whatever...

I find myself somewhat respecting someone who felt the need to photograph a fish finger sandwiche.

If they do ask for money, the closest they'll to mine is when I buy a tin of their beans so I can fart in their general direction
