View Full Version : Song to a Name. (Meat)
I was sitting down laying on my bed playing some BOB SEGER today. I looked over at IN SEARCH OF PARADISE, when I was listening to TURN THE PAGE
I thought it would be an interesting idea to share a song that reminds us of Meat. It would be interesting to see where it could go...
I think Turn The Page is a very appropriate song. ;)
Everything Louder Than Everything Else
The songs that reminds me of Meat the very most is Objects in the Rear View Mirror. I always saw it as an autobiographical song

I don't think Meat's best friend ever died in a plane crash and, from reading his autobiography, I don't think he mentions a long lost lover presumed dead.

isn't this thread about songs which remind you of Meat? Well, of course a Meat song will remind people of Meat. I think the topic starter meant non-Meat songs ;)
Oh in that case ......

He didn't write it...therefore, it would be impossible for it to be autobiographical...maybe some of his biography is reflected in the song...but it is not AUTObiographical...

That's what I thought too and I do understand it...but the only songs that ever reflected Meat for me are Steinman's songs...I think out of everybody who ever wrote for Meat, Steinman is the one who knew him best...and Meat was the best to perform Steinman's feelings and emotions...I think these two will forever be tied together...

I think it's Eye of the Tiger if it's by Survivor...not sure...
Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
Is that the one? I didn't check grammar - just copied and pasted

no i dont mean eye of the tiger
the song title is.....
It's the singer not the song. ( the song basically is about it doesnt matter how good a song is, if the singer is no good then the song is lost, its about the singers pressure to perform a song from the heart)
i dont know how else to put it. Survivor did quite a few other songs than eye of the tiger  and i actually like this one more than eye of the tiger
Sorry, don't know that one...
