are there still any people who actually pay for a membershp?
For their sake I hope not!!!! Seems to me that as a non-member I can access everything except the forum, and I include being able to buy M&G tickets in that
They're not taking renewals any more (haven't been for a while now) and apparently those "existing members" who expire from now will retain access to the site until they launch the new site. Other members who've expired before now lose out.
Really? But my membership expired in April, so even though it expired 4 months ago I've still had the chance to buy M&Gs for every 2008 show :? They're very odd aren't they!
I should have explained clearer lol, by "access" I meant access to the forum and Meat's journal, the rest retains the status quo of being available to anyone who can use a PC (and some who can't ;-) )

wasnt there talk about a new management for .net about a year ago?
There was, and there still is. Apparently the new site is under development at the moment. Hence the no renewals/new members thing.

Taken from the site
"After much thought and discussion, we've decided to give Meatloaf.net and the fan club a drastic overhaul/upgrade. Over the next few months, we'll be preparing for the launch of the new Meatloaf.net site. We will not be accepting any new memberships during this time. The current Meat Loaf fan club will remain "as is" and all existing memberships will remain valid".
Hopefully the new site will be awsome and a fresher look from what the appearance is now.

there are? :yikes:
dont wanna get too mean here....I know a lot of people who pay, and I think they do that for a good reason.
I personally think it's not worth it, but everybody has to decide for themselves.
Who knows? Maybe Ill join when the new site launches, and you get more for the money, but definitely not now.

It's great for me! And in all honesty I love that my lack of membership keeps me away from the forum!

i wouldnt have renewed if we knew beforehand that tix could be accessed by anybody, forum sucks, moderation sucks, and i dont blame meat one bit for not postimg much anymore. I look forward to the new site. Meat deserves something that represents him far better than that.
Absolutely Anji  My membership expired in April and I decided not to renew, using the logic that Andy would still be able to log onto .net for tickets and if there was a limit on what each member could purchase then we'd deal with it, somehow! As it turned out we were fine, and I actually enjoy not being able to access the forum as it means I don't need the self control to purposely not read it!

I don't call not being able to read that forum loosing out lol. My quality of life is far better for not reading it I can tell you ;)
