Well according to Amazon, Meat's "Bat Out Of Hell II: back Into Hell" is being released yet again.
Coming 16 September 2008 @ £11.49
Linky Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bat-out-Hell-II-Back/dp/B001DZDTTU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1219333088&sr=1-1
The only notes according to the site are that its the original 1 disc CD and is an Import.....
Why are they releasing it again???!!

I need another Bat II like a hole in the head :lmao: !!!
But then if their going to add extra's then I might just HAVE TO buy it  !!!
Why not remaster and re-release Dead Ringer? the "peel out" off the Lp is far superior than the CD master. Bad Attitude and BBIS need remastering as well.
Or why not remaster the Stoney and Meatloaf recordings.... Bat II sounds as fine as it ever will.
Extras better be Casa De Carne Live recordings

It's just Amazon being... well, Amazon.
There's no reissue of Bat 2 as not too long ago they released the 2 cd and 1 dvd package.
Wario - They (Virgin) can't release any of the new live stuff and they don't own anything other than Live around the World, Weclome and Bat 2.
The older stuff won't be re-mastered as there isn't a market for it being worth the cost.

You're forgetting the live tracks from the WTTN singles. They could be released, along with Not A Dry Eye, Took The Words and Bat, which thus far have not been put out on CD. Also I assume they could release the rest of the Hudson Theater show that made up a good chunk of LATW.
Neither of these proposals would take that much effort.

Ah sorry, should have been more clear. I was talking about offically released discography items! I thought Live Around The World was from all over the world? :P

I believe it was just a regular show on the Bat 2 tour. Jim Steinman played piano on Objects and Heaven Can Wait and performed the Wasted Youth Speech.
The radio broadcast was:
Anything For Love
Took The Words
Two Out Of Three
Life Is A Lemon
Objects
Bat
Paradise
Took The Words, Objects, Paradise, Heaven Can Wait and Wasted Youth appeared on Live Around The World, Anything For Love was a B-Side on a Bat 2 single. I assume Rock And Roll Dreams, All Revved Up, Frying Pan and Everything Louder were also played at the show.

This is all from memory so I could be wrong, but I think:
Took The Words, Heaven Can Wait, Paradise, Objects and Wasted Youth are all from Hudson Theater, New York '93
All Revved Up, Midnight, Dead Ringer, Lemon and the "kissing me!" at the end of YTTW are from Beacon Theater, New York '95
For Crying Out Loud was from the sound check at the above show
Rock And Roll Dreams was from the rehearsals of the Bat 2 tour in New York '93
Hot Patootie is from Florida '90
What You See Is What You Get is from Cleveland, Ohio
Out Of The Frying Pan is from somewhere in Virginia
Bat and Two Out Of Three are from Germany
Anything For Love is from Amsterdam
Good Girls was recorded during a sound check somewhere!
Only three songs not from the US!
In fact now I'm thinking about it, there must be oodles of audio out there that Virgin or Sony could release if they wanted to with very little effort. Off the top of my head:
The songs from the Bad Attitude Live video at Brixton Academy '85
Execution Day, Burning Down, All Revved Up, Dead Ringer from Wembley '87
The rest of the St Austell Colliseum show from '87
Whatever shows songs were taken from for LATW (I assume the whole show was recorded, even if just one song was used)
Live at El Mocambo and My Father's Place shows
No Matter What from the Storytellers taping
Hard Rock Live show where half the Storytellers CD was taken from
I'm sure there's lots more that could be put out for very little money and still make a reasonable profit.

Yeah - they should definitely release all that - I'd snap any/all of that up in an instant!

all about who has what in terms of rights as Kev was saying...also given the fact of how old a lot of these shows are that you are mentioning there's no guarantee that they have been preserved.
Just because it took place and was recorded doesn't always mean that it can be fit for release

I'd still get em!;)
That's really interesting evil one, what a pity none of them were from Oz. I have so many copies of Bat 2, it's not funny, but if they add anything different to it then I would definitely get it.

...um, "All Revved Up" is the same version as on the B-Side of "Runnin' for the Red Light", replete with added Bova-isms; Hudson theatre, New York.

True, but the booklet for LATW still says Rotterdam. But then again, there have been several other instances where what it said on the packaging didn't match up with where it was recorded.

Just a slightly related question: is the version of Midnight from that single the same as the one on LATW? If so: LATW says it's from Cleveland.
Also, that single says that Dead Ringer is also from the Beacon Theatre
show, while LATW claims the same version is from LA... They got it right on the Is Nothing Sacred single.

Yes. They're all the same and all from the Live In The Neighbourhood show at Beacon Theater, New York. The packaging lies!

was just gonna say that. Just dug out the single, and it does indeed say that the live tracks are from Beacon Theatre 1995. Same version of MATLAF as LATW.
