83 years old? Don't think Meat will like that. I wouldn't.
What's the point setting it to private if you want to promote Meat Loaf?
Didn't Ross the boss' meat loaf unoffical site close its doors and rebrand to an unofficial Patti Russo website and then redirect to her MySpace page after some annoyed fans pointing out that it was using the pattirusso.co.uk domain, which incidentally could have caused Patti suing Ross?
O.K was just an idea. O.K I'll change back to my more personal profile, those of you who wish to add me can do, never thought of that thanks andrew for the advice!
Grace
why am i being nice to you, you always moan at me whenever I come on here, its as though you can't have an opinion on this forum, I feel like meat did probably always defending oneself.
So what, Andrew its called an Unofficial Fan Site not
I am not kissing arses with anymore fans just to get on speaking terms with them.
I have a question why doesn't Meat actually post here anymore has that ever crossed the moderators of this site's minds?? :lol:its rather sad, that the main reason you guys set up a Site, because it was to do with Meat Loaf. I find you guys rather nit picky. Pud, did call me names behind my back on another Site, isn't that rather immature, and, I wouldn't take advice from anyone called pudding. *rolls eyes*
And...before you say it no-one rattled my cage, Its about time somone said something.
I'd rather be banned from here and be rid of you lot, you criticise that tribute act too, he's standing up fo himself, and, having another opinion.
Please ban me then I am rid of you.
if this post didn't rile you then I don't know what will.

He posted here quite a few times during the Casa De Carne tour. I assume that when he's home he has better things to do than sit around posting on an internet forum.

When have you been nice to me personally? Everyone can have an opinion here. Did I say you couldn't?
So what, Andrew its called an Unofficial Fan Site not
I never had a problem with that. As RadioMaster pointed out it just sounded familar to Ross' old site, that's all.
I am not kissing arses with anymore fans just to get on speaking terms with them.
Good, you shouldn't. That is a weak way of getting friends in my opinion.

Meat posted here loads in August while he was on tour, he sent tons of people pms as well if you want to know.
Pud doesn't speak for everyone here, however even Meat finds his posts interesting. If you only kiss arse it doesn't always get everywhere with Meat!
And...before you say it no-one rattled my cage, Its about time somone said something.

Why post here if you don't like this place? Moreover why come back? I personally think this place is the dog's bollocks and have made lots of friends through here. As for the other tribute act? You must be having a laugh if you mean the individual I think you are talking about. And if you are considering sticking up for him I think you belong in a straight jacket.
Please ban me then I am rid of you.

Guess my "opinions" are considered slagging off? Well in that case I'd rather slag you off right here, so you can see it as well.
Happy you've got your argument now?!
If anyone doesn't like this site, or the way it's run, you have a simple choice. Exercise some self control and don't visit here. It's quite easy really.
Please, don't anyone don't bring anymore arguments from other sites to this site we've got enough of our own without dragging youtube, RR or anywhere else for that matter into things.
Differing opinions are fine. Just don't get personal!
i am just tiered of people being rude and banning me from a site where i caused no apprant trouble. Pud called me a rude name for which I didn't deserve, I just think sometimes on here I feel as if I am constantly defending myself. I hate that cos if you met me in person, you would definately think Gee she's a nice person.
Your opinion was alright Andrew a little too criticial but hey no one is perfect maybe I have just grown tiered of the place and need people to accept me for who I am and thats honest.

Your opinion was alright Andrew a little too criticial but hey no one is perfect maybe I have just grown tiered of the place and need people to accept me for who I am and thats honest.
Maybe too critical for your liking but I never slag people's efforts off completely. You could have seen I was trying to give you constructive criticism on your Myspace page, indeed perhaps in a cynical way. If you were to change the age to 60 and make it viewable for everyone it would at least be more acceptable to have on there. But yes I do personally find Meat Loaf Myspace pages (other than the official one) unnecessary. That doesn't mean to say you can't create one!
How can you possibly expect to befriend people with one or two posts?, furthermore it seems to me you are trying to win friends by sounding impressive with having a website? I personally am not so keen on people trying to be popular or trying to direct people away to other Meat Loaf websites/forums (which some seem to do a lot around here), especially when you say you don't like this place. Yes you offend me too with that.
Why am I so confused to think that if somebody is tired of this site they don't have to get banned - all they have to do is not to come here???
On a personal note, Grace, since you've asked...I have no idea who you're and have nothing against you...but if somebody comes time and time again during some 3 years I was here and introduces herself as a newbie...seems a bit strange to me...

(to be entirely nit picky though, i was referring to something happening on THIS site)
I think I have to address a few of the points raised here, so here we go:
i am just tiered of people being rude and banning me from a site where i caused no apprant trouble. Please ban me then I am rid of you.
:wtf:
For the record, nobody has banned or intends to ban you from this site, in fact it was you that requested a ban (see quote above). As we don't do bans on request, I guess you just have to stay around or follow Andy's advice a few posts up.
Out of the 17 threads you have started, there are at least 6 threads (that's roughly 30%) where you are advertising a website you're either involved in or run for yourself. Some people might call that spamming, others may say that you're just looking for attention. Either way, you are obviously looking for feedback, but you can't stand negative feedback? Why did you even ask?
Pud called me a rude name for which I didn't deserve, I just think sometimes on here I feel as if I am constantly defending myself. I hate that cos if you met me in person, you would definately think Gee she's a nice person. If that has happened on this site, report the post or the PM or whatever and we will deal with it. If it happened somewhere else, then address the problem there. Don't bring these issues here - we don't need this.
I have a question why doesn't Meat actually post here anymore has that ever crossed the moderators of this site's minds?? :lol:its rather sad, that the main reason you guys set up a Site, because it was to do with Meat Loaf. No, that never crossed my mind. ... I hate that cos if you met me in person, you would definately think Gee she's a nice person.
That may be true but when you're here you're not speaking "in person", here you have to post (and we have to read) without the benefits of being face to face, with facial expressions and tone of voice. If you're coming here to direct people to your MySpace, fansites or whatever then you've got to be a) prepared for people not to like them, and b) prepared to read people's opinions without the benefits I mentioned above and not kick off if someone does express what you consider to be an over critical opinion.

Just to answer Andrew's question, yes. Meat Loaf Unofficial closed mainly due to school demands - hard to believe I know
It was becuase I was studying for my work and I didn't have the time and effort to put into the site that I wanted to - I had a vision of how it was to be, and image which imo would look  but I couldn't achieve it at that point in time...
Hence then later on, I bought pattirusso.co.uk, and created a fansite. This was no intension to annoy anyone, and when I found out, I was upset and I simply did what I thought was best along with listening to others, and closed it and pointed it to Patti's Site. I did also ask Patti herself, and she said she wanted to see me concentrate on my own music than to work on a site for her, so I told her that I would redirect the domain to her myspace site instead - she was flattered by the idea though.
In the future, if Patti would like the domain name for a site, then she can have it by all means.... :-)

Just to answer Andrew's question, yes. Meat Loaf Unofficial closed mainly due to school demands - hard to believe I know
Why is that hard to believe? I would like to think they give people around your age enough to study in school so that you possibly don't have time to create gazillions of websites.
Hence then later on, I bought pattirusso.co.uk, and created a fansite. This was no intension to annoy anyone, and when I found out, I was upset and I simply did what I thought was best along with listening to others, and closed it and pointed it to Patti's Site. That may be great, you wanting to put in effort but I doubt you could ever do as good a job as Susi did with Patti Rocks and also doubt you are a big a fan as Susi is. The idea of making websites just for the sake of it without putting in proper time /anything original is surely pointless.
In the future, if Patti would like the domain name for a site, then she can have it by all means.... :-)
You're so very kind. Don't you think it would have been better if you had bought the domain AFTER contacting Patti? How would you feel if I had bought RossPomfret.com before you had a chance to buy it yourself?
Sure there are people around the web that buy domains all the time. Just think it's not a very nice thing for a fan to do without asking the artist/company/person involved first. :?
Andrew, I have to disagree with your last argument. I don't know what motivation Ross had to buy this domain (probably as an investment) but...
Out of curiousity I've looked up Patti Russo and Patricia Russo in NJ...and there is a full gazillion of them in NJ White Pages alone. It is a VERY common name here just as I thought and buying domain name like that could have been done by any one of those people with a full right to do so without asking THAT Patti Russo.
In addition...I have no idea what value UK ending of the domain will have for Patti - she is an American and probably would opt for American domain if she wanted her own full blown site.

Okay so you are saying it's okay for a "fan" to make money out of artist by buying their name as a domain name? This sounds very familar to what somebody else did and had a dispute with Meat Loaf himself about.
Think the .co.uk has quite a bit of value for Patti. I don't see her doing as many shows as anywhere else than in the uk.
What I am saying is that Patti Russo does NOT hold a patent on her name...by your logic all kings of the world should be mad if Andy or Mike bought a King domain of some kind...
I am pretty sure that there are other Russos that own similar domains. There are so many possibilities of domains now that it's not even funny. Those had a whole lot more value when there was only .com...but there is so many now...there is something for everybody...
I can't tell you whether it is ok to buy domain for profit - I am not a judge and/or God and/or anybody's conscience...
I don't know which dispute you're talking about but if you're talking about Steinman/Meat Loaf dispute, Steinman actually has a copyright on Bat Out of Hell phrase...so it is a dispute a bit of a different nature .
If UK domain had value for Patti she would have tried to buy it by now...or her lawyers would...don't you think she doesn't have an army of agents/lawyers/advisors, etc???
I don't really want to get involved into this dispute because I definitely look at this from American point of view...I am just stating my opinion...
AndrewG
19 Sep 2008, 15:33
I absolutely agree with you about the name. If someone with my similar name bought the domain I would respect that. You cannot stop that. But that is not what I meant. I was on about what Ross, as a "fan" has done and how he went about pattirusso.co.uk.
What I also do not respect is someone setting up a quick website including a forum that no-one uses, whilst copying content from existing popular websites (and slagging these off!) and then to advertise the site on those main ones by trying to grab traffic away. This is exactly what Grace has done at least twice. :?
It seems to me that some people are more interested in the "owning" of a site and being popular because of that rather than contributing anything original or interesting for that matter.
By the way...I've found a bit of VERY interesting information about American law...don't know where to post it so I will post it here since we touched copyright subject. Apparently, if you copyrighted something in America...you HAVE to sue for infringement...whether you want to or not...otherwise you lose your copyright...that would explain that famous lawsuit and how quickly it was dropped...

Interesting read.....
I just wanted to say that the domain runs out on 24 July 2009 - I had to buy it for 2 years min at the time of purchase. I won't be renewing it, so I'm sure plenty of you will be pleased.
Also if Patti did want it, I wouldn't even dream of saying "yeah you can have it, only if you pay so much, million wise" unlike someone I know who tried to... but turned it down! So really Patti could have it - feel free :-P
And about those website's - yeah I've learnt a lesson, and you only learn from your mistakes - hotlinking etc.... Something I did when I first started out a site, years back and something I WON'T do again!
I hope thats okay and you understand.... I'm not here to annoy anyone, and I don't mean to do it... I just want to get on with everyone....
Andrew I agree. if anyone who didn't know her had bought that domain thats fair enough, but for Ross to have is another thing imo.
Also agree that co.uk is very useful to Patti.
And Ross if she can have it for free, just hand it over to her now and be done with it ;-) or do you want to make a big song and dance about this as well as just about everything else you do  Actually I can answer that question myself.

I'm in the middle of setting up a website for my dad and I know for a fact that there is an old schoolteacher of mine who has exactly that same name...now because i've bought the domain name for my dad, should that mean that if the old schoolteacher comes along annoyed that he can't buy it, that I should give it to him?
Hey Ross bought it, Ross had used it...he's linked it to her myspace so by that gesture he's probably done more for her in PR then has been done in years, outside of her touring with Meat Loaf that is.

I never said such things. If I had bought meatloaf.com and pointed it to a simple forum whilst trying to nab people away from here I reckon people would have a problem with that and rightly so I think.
Hey Ross bought it, Ross had used it...he's linked it to her myspace so by that gesture he's probably done more for her in PR then has been done in years, outside of her touring with Meat Loaf that is.
Linked to her MySpace? He did that after I told him to (after his own site went through 3 changes, trying to experiment with Joomla, demanding people to register first before seeing the content and all sort of funny things, which I think are not in Patti's interest whatsoever). The pointing to her myspace I think is a good thing he has done. Susi has done the same with pattirusso.com.
I admit I can't pin him down for trying, any PR is better than none, you are 100% right pointing that out, just the way he went about it is what I have a problem with (buying domain before discussing with Patti what he was going to do, content from patti rocks etc, etc).
Grace I think is worse though as she is 10 years older and should know better in my opinion.
I just think there is a difference between wanting set up a site you are passionate about and just trying to gain popularity within the internet community. I saw the latter myself from many of these temporarily existing websites.
