View Full Version : John Miceli Charity Auction
John is going to add a Charity Auction at the start of every month and the first Charity Auction is going on Ebay tonight
You can find more info on his website (http://www.john-miceli.com) on a new link called 'Charity Auctions' and he also put up a blog about it HERE (http://john-miceli.blogspot.com/2008/09/friend-of-ours-turned-us-on-to-this.html)
The charity is Compassion International (http://www.compassion.com/about/aboutus.htm). John sponsors two children already through this charity and he is hoping to be able to sponsor another child by doing these Auctions
The first Auction is for this very cool drum head that John used at Rehearsals in NY back in June. That has the set list on it.
The auction will go on today at 3.00pm Eastern time and 11.00pm UK time HERE (http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/drummersgear_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ) I'll post the link to the auction when it goes on.

John is giving away a set of John Miceli / Meat Loaf drum sticks with this auction. (As many of you already know a set of these alone went for £102! on eBay last week lol.)

This is a really great cause and it means a lot to John. He has said he'll post updates on his site from the child that gets sponsored.

That is fantastic Deb :-) If I was rich I would definately bid on those things :-)
It really is Sarah  and I don't think people need to be rich to bid for these auctions :-) Lots of things go on ebay for good prices

Yes I know - I was just kidding :-) But hopefully the bids will be very high, so John can get a lot of money for this good cause!

So he writes the setlist on the drumskin. Does he always do this?
What show was that from anyway?

LOL you know you want to Helen lol
Andrew, no it's not something John always does, as I have used drum heads that don't have a setlist on lol. But I have a feeling it is something he does either in rehearals or the beg of tour as I have one from beg of last tour with a bit of 'Pigs' on and one from this tour with a setlist one  Very similar to this one actually :-) and yep it's from the NY rehearsals
6 bids already  So i'm guessing the lack of replies is cause some want me to shut up and not draw this to anyones attention lol.
Sorry :-( Normally I'm totally with those who want to keep ebay auctions quiet, but this one is for a very worthy cause :-)

Who would ever want you to shut up Des? :p
A very worthy cause indeed, and for once an auction for a Meat item that I think everyone wants to see go to the highest possible bidder.
Thanks for letting us know Deb, that's nice of John to do that. It will probably be out of my price range too, but I'll take a look.
Carole
Well I put in a bid, and immediately got outbid, so I've got it as a watched item.

Almost time for this months auction
Indeed. Looks like a fantastic cause. The drumhead and sticks finally arrived yesterday after a bit of a battle with ParcelForce ... it all looks far better than in the pics that were posted, and will be framed and displayed somewhere prominent soon.
As for adoption ... think I'll just be happy that I've enabled someone else to do that ;-)
Glad they got there ok :-) When you find a home for them don't forget the pics
Leave it with me! ;-)
btw, has the postman come calling recently?
Oh $£#* yeah  Sorry heads in permanent 'headless chicken mode lately  will email you asap then again asap could be god only knows when :lmao:
