Reason why I am asking is I logged on and it said there was no mail in my inbox, which is not true. I had a whole bunch of emails from ebay and memebrs answer question and stuff about shipping numbers. The emails were only a few weeks old and they usally keep till you delete them or move them. I also clicked my trash and it has the same trash that was there before. Could Yahoo have just had a glich and has this happened to others. I checked and all my folders and such are still there. Is anyone else having problems with Yahoo or had this happen????

Yahoo mail can be a bit buggy indeed. Best online mail account I have is Gmail. They try to push the envelope with these things before the technology is proven to work on such a large scale in a reliable way I think (lots of this Ajax / do stuff without the main page your own reloading etc). Hence I find Facebook can be quite buggy at the moment.

I've had my Yahoo account since I was in high school so I've had it for over 8 years. I got it so me and my friends could send funny pics and other junk to each other. I just wish if they are having problems why not post it as a bullention for all to read? It just ticked me off cause I had tracking numbers on a few mail items that are being sent to me on there. I hate have to go through ebay and find those emails. Arrggg

Don't use Gmail. They can "read" what you're writing and modify the advertisement.. Example you're writing with your friends about books or other literature. This leads that google shows book ads.. This is what I have heard..

Yes Gmail uses that system. But it does it at run time so no-one is actually reading it, it is just the system that is making keyword comparisons. It brings up some interesting things though, whenever I am emailing my friend who is originally from Iran I get Iranian holiday advertisements!
Unless you would use a secure mail server of some sort there would never be a guarantee that no-one is "reading" your emails. As far as I know governments have constantly got more power to actually do this and they have tried to force ISPs to give them access as well.
