For me it was on tuesday at work, fetched an ML lp from the post office on my lunch break, and back my colleagues were asking what was in the package. I showed them the lp and weve got to talking about the Loaf in general.

I was talking to my Uncle about Meat at our store today.

Yesterday when my Mom and I were making the arrangements for my Dad's funeral (he passed away from lung cancer earlier in the morning), the Funeral Director asked if we wanted them to play any music during the service. I smiled and said Meat Loaf ... but my Mom just rolled her eyes and said no. I still think Heaven Can Wait or Home By Now would have been perfect.

Sorry to hear about you dad Vicki, we have been through something similar lately and i know how tough it is.
As for talking about Meat Heaven can wait was on Radio 2 today while i was at work. The boss was there and asked who sang that song, obviously i then went on to bore him for the next five minutes. Turned out he had seen him at the arena in the late 90s and loved it!

Vicki - really sorry to hear your sad news. I know nothing i say can change how you feel but i am thinking of you.

As for the Meat Loaf question, in passing that would be today to a work colleague and in more detail would be last week, also to work colleagues - as my boss and the Area Coordinator who works in my office are both Meat Loaf fans - my boss likes to talk about Meat quite a bit...no complaints here though!

Yesterday I was out with some friends from work and one of the girls husband saw my bag and Meat Loaf badge and said to me, so you're a bit of a Meat Loaf fan are you. I said yeah just a bit. He told he how at high school his class was in a rock esteddford and they did Paradise. Gee how things have changed since I was at school, back then we did boring classical esteddfords. I told him about Meat judging on a UK show Popstar to Operastar and how he just sang Bat and that it was on youtube. He seemed interested to hear it. And of course told him about the new album coming out soon.

I was talking to a work colleague about Meat Loaf today. She was telling me that she'd seen him on Popstar to Operastar singing Bat Out Of Hell and she thought he was really good, then we went on to talk about the fact that I wanted to see him in concert and she said his concerts must be an amazing experience.

Yesterday: I was filling in at a prominent opthamology practice and I was walking a patient to have their cataract measurements evaluated. After my explanations we had a few minutes before the calculations were finished so we chit chatted. During that the man told me that he had just gotten back from out of town and he learned a new song. I said, "oh yeah?" He said, "yeah, have you heard of Paradise.......by the.....Dashboard Lights?" In my most professional way, "I said, why yes, I'm very familiar with that song." He said, "Isn't it fantastic?" I said (holding back an emerging grin), "Yes, it is." I let this man go on and on about Meat Loaf and how he thought he was fantastic.....I finally broke into my smile because it really sincerely warmed the cockles of my heart. I let the man know that Meat has an album coming out in April but in the US will get it in May. I looked around to see if someone was getting a dig at me and set this up.....but no one knew me well enough to do that. It was the most ironic situation.

Looks like your husband is well-trained, tink!

On Wednesday we got to give one of the products the company I provide support for is going to release soon a test drive. It's a network music player that can also play songs from SD card or USB drive and one of the trainers had generously donated a USB stick with a small selection of music files to test it with. While most of the tracks on there were cringe-worthy it also had Objects on it. Made me smile and comment that the man actually did have a shard of taste after all. Got a few blank stares from my co-workkers, lol!

Meat Loaf popped up in conversation today with one of my sales reps. (who knew not that I am an avid fan).

Rep: "Suz going away for the summer?"
Me: "No, just a quick trip to NY to see my sisters and take in a concert."
Rep: "Oh, who you going to see?"
Me: "Meat Loaf"
Rep: "OMG, I love him....make sure you bring a change of clothes because you will sweat your ass off."
Me: (laughing my ass off AND playing coy) "Why would I sweat my ass off?"
Rep: "That guy puts on a show like you won't believe. It's the most fun you'll ever have at a show."
Me: "Good to know."
Rep: "Funny thing is that when he was down here (Florida) in the 80's, I belonged to a whirly ball league. After a show, he went to play where I have my league, I was too tired to play after his show."
Me: "Wait he sang and performed....and YOU were too tired to play whirly ball."

OK, WTF was whirly ball? See here: http://www.whirlyball.com/home/index.php
Apparently it's good fun.

Fact or Fiction: I don't know if Meat did go to play whirly ball in Florida, but it sure was an entertaining story. LOL!

Few hours ago on yahoo chat with a friend I just remembered things from the commentary from MSO and when Meat presented MTV in 1993 and I have to share this here because I crease everytime, it sounds so wrong !!!
Meat's got some juggling balls and frustratingly he hurls them at Tracy, (I'm guessing she's the producer :??:) And so knowing this...

MEAT: I'm sorry Tracy, did that hurt ?
TRACY: Yes !
MEAT: I'm sorry Tracy, I didn't realize they were so hard, my balls !!

 :lmao: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
