was just wondering is meat still with universal?
why i ask this is that since 1998 the very best of meat loaf has sold over 2m copies across europe, and the ifpi has not given him any platinum discs?
an artists record company must pay for and register for any artist to recieve any gold or platinum award, welcome to the neighbourhood recieved such an award in 1995, bat out of hell 3 has sold 900,000 copies across europe and will eventually get a european certification for 1m european sales
maybe not many will be interested but he should recieve recognition for 2m+ european sales for tvbo:D

also deadringer should be double platinum in the uk
hits out of hell has passed the million mark in the uk and should be triple platinum
also in the usa deadringer should be gold for 500,000 sales

the VBO was released by Virgin, not Universal.

Before I go and dig up some info on this...I hope you do realize that the name of your thread in America would mean that Meat is crazy?

Being certified in America means that you are on the way of becoming a certified lunatic...that's what I thought your thread is about and started already boiling...LOL...

Alright...dug up some info...VBO is gold because it is certified only by RIAA that counts only American Sales - you're right, this album is registered only with RIAA...why? Who knows...

Meat posted early in the year that he's changed record companies, and he's changed his management as well. Not sure which record company he is with now though, guess we'll find out when the new album comes out.

So just putting that list in order (if it's accurate ;))

bat 1 = 3,089,000 10xp
bat 2 = 1,907,700 6xp
hooh = 1,084,000 3xp
dead r = 800,000 2xp
vbo = 662,000 2xp
wttn = 500,000 platinum
bat 3 = 391,114 platinum
mnlaf = 207,778 gold
bad att = 189,099 gold
chsib = 147,500 gold
bbis = 98,000 gold
live mso = 56,788 silver

I thought Bat3 would have been a couple of places higher and I've bet money on Bad Attitude selling more copies than Midnight At The Lost And Found.

Pud :twisted:
