Play cry over me, burning down and a man and a woman in a loop and it will eventually run screaming from the house

Thats not fair.
Play anything by Rhydian instead works faster and has the added benefit of killing all the weeds in gardens within a 500mtr radius
Try to open the door and shoo it away???

I get a rat in the house. That might scare the mouse away ...

I've heard mice prefer sherbert lemons to cheese.... don't know if it's true, or if you'll end up with a legion of ants to keep the mouse company...
Oh... make sure you disinfect any surfaces before cooking on them, mice are incontinent....

That works only if it's the House that Jack Built AND it's written by Lewis Carroll

I'd really suggest some sort of mouse killing/catching equipment to be priority if you haven't already - they breed (I'm sure I read they live for about a year and have on average 6 litters of 6 baby mice in that time), gnaw stuff (wires, pipes, woodwork, fabrics) and even worse, as Claire said, but somewhat more politely, they pee...everywhere, on everything! it spreads disease and it smells :-(
Some harvest mice took it upon themselves to invade my parents' loft a couple of years back, and they (my parents - not the mice!) put down some poisoned grain stuff which oddly is blue, and for some reason doesn't result in a loft of dead mice (I can't remember why!!), I think it is fairly slow to act in poisoning them and i think generally it's not supposed to be a painful death for the mice. It wasn't very expensive at all (though sorry I can't remember how much) and was worth it to prevent the problem getting worse.
Alternatively, get a cat. Though I can't promise it will guarantee you mouse-free as mine used to regularly bring 'presents' home!
Cats dont help believe me lol!! Cats bring things in and release them!!
I think when the poison works the animal gets really thirsty so they tend to die outside looking for water!!
There are humane traps too where they just catch them and then you can release them outside!!

 Correct
Tip: Don't try this if you have a goldfish bowl.
My sister in law made that mistake :bleh:

GROSS ALERT
My father's cat brought home a pidgeon once! It was still alive and half open!
