Hello,
I want to present my dearest Meat Loaf item here, and I hope many more will do the same (in this thread)...
In august 2008 ( 2008-08-08 ) me and my wife travelled for 14 hours by car for the Meat Loaf concert in Bergen, Norway. The show was a part of the "Casa De Carne Tour" and the show in Bergen was on the smallest stage on the tour, so it was intimate :-)
After a great concert, me, my wife and a few more persons waited serveral hours outside the artist entrance hoping to spot Meat Loaf or some of the band.
The waiting gave results and the whole band was mingling outside with the fans for a long time, and after even more waiting Meat Loaf himself came out.
Meat Loaf was to be transported away in a Volvo S80, but took the time to say hello, and he signed a lot of things for the few happy fans standing there.
I was lucky and got my newly bought cap signed, and I took pictures of him signing my cap, my dearest Meat Loaf item :D
Anyone else from this forum who were there?
Enjoy the pictures! I certainly enjoyed taking them... :D :D :D

My dearest Meat Loaf item used to be Bat II album cover condom. At the time I bought it, it has never been even used!!! I used to treasure it and look at it most lovingly every day thinking about the day that I can actually find some use for it...
Unfortunately, it is no longer in my possession. There are plenty of evil people in this world and my most treasured item has been abducted...:(

dont you think it's scary how much his physical appearance changed in just two years?

In case you refer to the pics in this thread, I don't think it has changed that much. I assume it just makes a difference whether you take a picture of him at some promo event or after an exhaustive show.

 I believe it would have to be my autographed copy of Bat Out Of Hell.
My autographed copies of the Midnight at the Lost & Found CD, Bad Attitude CD, Live at Wembley CD, and Blind Before I Stop CD
BOOH, BOOH II, BOOHIII, CHSIB, and WTTN sign-ages have been done so many times

Mine's probably the drumstick I got from John in May 2007, he tried about 2-3 times to get one to me before I finally caught the one I have now and I feel so, so lucky to have it.
Also my laminate, t-shirt and photos from the meet & greet in London last year.
(photos to follow soon)
Everything is precious :) .. but the three most so would be the dollar bill he gave me, the autographed copy of an ROL calendar front cover that he included in the CHSIB tour programme, and the suit he wore as Colonel Divine ..

For me it's the M&G picture from Clearwater, Florida (which I've cropped for my avatar).

I admit I've seen better pictures of myself .. lol.
But we had the funeral for my Dad two days before the show in Clearwater (he passed away from lung cancer) and I didn't know until the last minute if I was going to be able to make the trip to Florida. Meat helped ease my pain ... and every time I see that picture it reminds me of that special night.

You're not thinking of selling that are you? Put it on ebay and I bet there'd be a lot of bidders from hereabouts ... ;-)

my dearest meatloaf "item" is the memory that i hi5 him as he run across the front row!!! :D
Actually item wise, the drumstick and pick from the london show last august, and probably the saddest,
the water bottle that nearly hit me that meat threw off the stage. it sits with the drumstick and pick (sealed with an note attached so no-one throws it away by mistake).
now i just have to wait for cloning to become more affordable, mwah ha ha

Nice items :D How did you get your drumstick and pick? And why did Meat throw a water bottle at the audience?

the pick and drumstick were thrown to the crowd at the end of the concert, the gentleman beside me actually got the drumsticks but rather than keep them for himself, he gave one to me and one to a woman from hungary. as for the water bottle i dont think he was aiming for us, he just chucked it off stage once he'd finished drinking, the crowd just happened to be down there too, lol
yay, new memory thread!!!
and one to a woman from hungary.
I remember meeting her (surely there can't have been two women from Hungary at that show) in the queue before the show, she hadn't seen Meat live for something like 15 years and was really nervous and excited about seeing him again. Nice to know she came away with a keepsake after the show.

That is a beautiful pic, how lucky that Meat looked up right at that moment and smiled. Like Caryl says, everything I have is precious, but 2 of my most precious things are the CHSIB and WTTN CD's he signed at a signing in Sydney when he was here promoting the CHSIB album. It was the first time I met him so was all the more precious for that.

yep the same one, stood talking to me and my sister and yourself for the many hours before we got in. :D Did you manage to get on the front row after all that?
Well, I understand about one dollar...but what's with the suit??? :??:
I got the suit in a charity auction .. a unique and very special piece of memorabilia to me :) It has original Civil War buttons .. and the waistcoat is the softest wool .. feels almost like cashmere ..
As to "smell" .. it had been drycleaned Pudding, you ass, just as all items from films are before they are disposed of .. and no, Dave .. I'd never put it up for auction :) I also have his Tshirt from Fight Club .. and I wouldn't part with that either :)

Have you the items "exhibited" in your home, or are they stored? (I have no plans of robbing you, I'm just curios ;))

The suit hangs in my wardrobe .. it would be one of the things I grabbed in a fire :)) .. and the Tshirt is in a drawer. I've worn the Tshirt a few times .. but now it's far too big :)
I lugged the coat (which has very rich gold brocade trimming and, like the trousers, is very, very heavy .. and I'm not surprised he sat down between takes .. lol) to a M&G because I'd have loved to have Meat try it on again and photograph him in it myself .. but he was feeling poorly that night and sadly didn't do the M&G which was a post-show one.

Back on topic.
If ever I got hold of the film Dead Ringer, that would probably be my dearest item in both senses of the word. The storyline seems really crap, but it has to be the Holy Grail of Meat Loaf films.

That and the queue order changing.
As for my dearest item I agree with Caryl, everything's precious and loved (plus it's all cost a bloody fortune so it's a shame not to like it ) but my dearest things are the things with stories behind them that hold memories...so whilst I enjoy the "regular" merchandise, my favourites are things like plectrums, drum sticks, a poster for my very first show back in '96, that kinda thing...but I'd say my absolute favourites are my M&G photos, all of which are treasured and all hold wondeful memories. I think also they're interesting for me to see, as when I first met Meat I was 13 and I've been lucky enough to meet him lots of times since so they make a time-line of me ageing! (though you'll never see the full time line as the first M&G pic will never appear online :p )

My favourite items are photos taken with Meat backstage at Glasgow, a guitar pic he threw into the crowd and a plastic beer bottle he threw into the crowd and I caught it-that's in my special display cabinet!

My DJ promo of the first release of "Stoney & Meatloaf" on the Rare Earth label, my signed copy of the reissue of "Stoney & Meatloaf" and the promo for "Bat Out Of Hell" album and "Paradise" single w/out the play-by-play. Wish we could upload the Stoney tracks but that's against the rules.
