Hes saving the best for last cause whether we realize it or not, the next duet with Patty is gonna be oh so anticipated
If there is one, we are not promised one.
Patti has an I on the end not Y ;), sorry another pet hate like when people put Meat Loaf as one word :p.
i'm sure Patty nor Patti are that bothered
I would love to see Patti and CC in the studio, it would then feel more complete some how .
why? Some bands find studio singers do some things better instead, personally i don't care if they're in the studio or not, as long as they're on tour ;-)

Personally if there's duets or other female singing parts I'd much rather that Patti and CC were on the album, still somewhat lets down some of the songs on the last album in my opinion.

I'd much rather it be patty than CC. CC's nice eye-candy for the stage but singing-wise she don't do much for me :nope:
The last album was a total letdown when they had an Oscar nominated actress and a popular American Idol finalist do a duet with Meat and all for nothing...WTF? :wtf:
Patti gets my  for any lead female vocals.
But what about the others ... no Mark, and from what I've seen no session pianist as yet which is a little worrying as I like the piano driven songs as much as the guitar driven ones, and no Dave (yeah, I know he's out at some Jazz festival at the moment) who IMO deserves a part on a Meat recording for his on stage services over the last few years.

I heard a piano on one of the sound bits they played in one of the videos.

Totally agree. After all her years with Meat, I think Patti deserves all the featured female vocals/ duets. Plus no one sounds better with Meat than Patti.

True Patti does sound amazing, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of variety either.

I have to say that this blew me out of the water...I know Jennifer Hudson back from AI, I know her voice well, I voted for her numerous times and yet...when I've heard her voice on the album, it didn't even sound like her...I couldn't believe my ears...
Not sure what happened but is it possible that something happened during sound mixing/production, etc? I am not very clever about those things...

I'd choose 'the best' over 'variety' anyday. The 'variety' on Bat III just didn't sound right.

Absolutely agree that Patti should duet, but as far as backing vocals it isn't important for me, i think Patti is a little busy right now anyway so if there are duets then maybe they are saving those until she is finished with Cher ;-)
As i said (maybe a bit better this time lol) as long as they all turn up on tour i'm not bothered who does BACKING vocals.
no sign of kasim lately? anyway i wonder has meat laid down some of the vocals yet?

25 Jun 2009, 19:08
if they need a great vocalist for a duet, I'm 100% in favour of taking patti.
if they have a particular song, where they have a particular female singer in mind, I'm in favour of being flexible and trying to get the person who's best suited for the song.
One more point to make...if Meat is doing any song gospel feel and sound - Patti doesn't have that type of the voice - it is a very specific voice mostly owned by black women...

Just spend the last little while catching up on about 7-10 days worth of videos as I've been away/busy... it's the little things that amuse me most; "say hi, John" "hi John" and "say hi, Paul" "hi Paul"... ah it's lovely to see them.
Very much looking forward to Patti, Mark, CC, Dave and Kasim making an appearance at some point (as I hope they will).

Great as they are, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the quantity of videos - to the extent that I haven't watched one in a couple of weeks... I generally just read what you lot think of them, and if you keep talking about a specific video for long enough, THEN I watch it. I don't think this makes me a bad fan, particularly...just a lazy one! And I will watch them eventually...when I have nothing else to do
Anyway, don't criticise Emma for posting the vids as soon as they are 'tweeted' - as here's the only place I'm likely to bother viewing them from!

I think it is good someone can be arsed to embed the vids in a thread so Emma does get a lot of respect from me for doing that even if she wants to be up at insane times. ;-)

Just because Meat introduces them doesn't mean they'll be on the album, they could just be friends with Rob Cavallo and popping in for a cup of tea.

Mine isn't that he made any negative comments at all .. I was doing the crossword at the time Clarkson introduced him saying something about him touring with Meat Loaf in Germany which got my attention so I looked up at the screen. Clarkson was pulling a face, so had clearly said something unflattering about Meat or Germany or both I supposed .. let's face it we are talking about someone who routinely refers to the French as "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" aren't we? ..
But Justin Hawkins just smiled a bit vacuously and said yes, he'd toured with him .. which I didn't take as him necessarily agreeing with whatever Clarkson had said, but rather wasn't going to take him on right at the opening of the interview .. then said it was good (touring with Meat) and Meat had said to treat him like his dad, Clarkson pulled one of his faces for the camera and they moved on. My impression was that far from siding with any negative view (and let's face it Clarkson adopts negative views for humorous effect) Justin was trying to express something about Meat being a nice guy .. and I can see Meat saying something like that :)
Darkness toured with him in the UK too didn't they? I remember at one concert Meat stood in the wings while they were playing, clearly appreciating their performance and applauding them at the end of the number

still dont get it... so what bad thing did that clarkson guy say in the first place?
Neither do I really .. I didn't hear anything "bad" in the interview .. and if he said anything during that show I missed it. Clarkson says a lot of stuff about things, famous people etc for effect and a laugh. Back when there was that poll for the best driving song he made comments in most of the shows about not voting for BOOH .. can't remember them all .. but I seem to recall:
Vote for Meat Loaf, assuming you can get your fat inbred fingers on to the button
Voting for Meat Loaf means you are twice as likely to have no mates
Your ISP will change your domain name to loser if you vote for Bat Out of Hell
Voting for Meat Loaf will give you gout
Your home may be at risk if you vote for Meat Loaf
But then he'll also say that a particular car's brakes are made from milk bottle tops, and of a car he really likes that he wishes it could put its hand down his trousers and rummage around ..
Basically they all poked fun at Meat and/or his fans .. but Clarkson's comments on things, cars, people and life in general are for comic effect and not to be taken too seriously imo .. I doubt he does himself, and frankly I don't think Meat would lose any sleep :)
.. and BOOH topped the poll anyway .. lol

That whole Top Gear is a bit of a farce anyway. I doubt 0.5% of the UK population can afford most of the cars they review (ie most seem to be £100.000+) so it definitely cannot be considered a proper "car-review" programme imo. It's good entertainment I think though and it certainly makes me laugh.
Is it just me or does anyone else also think Richard Hammond hasn't seemed quite right since his accident?

He call's Meat the 'Oaf' and apparently thinks that his music is awful. His 2 co-presenters have decided to agree with him too. BUT, in true hypocritical Clarkson style, he has released some 'Driving' compilation albums in the past and guess which artist features on at least 2 CDs?!

first, I have no idea of top gear and anything related as we dont have it over here
but usually there's more than a lot of people involved in producing a cd. Even if the promoted artist (that'd be him in this case) has his picture on the cover, he might not have anything to say about song choice, etc.
you dont even have to go as far as compilations. just look at 3 bats live, that album was released completely against Meat's will.

And indeed I was one of those people but that does not mean that James May HATES Meat Loaf and if you'd included that statement in a letter to the BBC I think they probably would have ignored your mail which I can understand. Top Gear like any other entertainment program is heavily scripted and dramatised to be "entertaining". The offending Meat Loaf and his fans part was included to be "cool" and indeed to generate some laughs as all three presentors were in on it. Did any of the presentors at any time say "Oh I so love this song, I went to a concert of them and it was awesome" (unless of course that artist is in the studio and it is suck up time)? Of course not, that is just the type of stuff you'd never hear on TG. But if you like to continue to believe everything that is said in Top Gear as being the truth on how people are in real life be my guest.

have to be honest, that clip didnt sound great to me, or the few lyrics, but i am hopeful the whole song once finished will sound great!! It was nice to see a clip of Meat singing though nonetheless :-D
Also great to see Patti has arrived
I agree with Bobbin. I'm not that impressed by his vocals but it's hard to judge the quality of his singing by a clip that's just 15 seconds long. I'm actually glad to finally hear him sing in one of the videos.
Edit: I just listened to it again and the lyrics sound a little dull to me. I wonder if it is really something that's going to be on the album or a joke. :? The melody reminds me of his "David, David, oh David" song. ;)

I don't think you're a saboteur if you don't like something, you're expressing an opinion and after hearing the final cut, I still don't like it.
However, that's a small part of a larger song which inturn is one song off an whole album. I don't think anyone has used that tiny part and said the whole album is crap, so Meat needs to chill a little methinks.
For a second I thought MeatGrl1 was back.
He's right regarding what he says about artists usually not leaking much about the recording process. I guess one of the reasons why they don't do it is because of what's happened right now. Some people might not like what they hear, express a "negative" opinion and that might disturb the artist.
I appreciate that we get to see and hear a lot but I don't think that obligates me to suck up and claim I like something if I actually don't.
[...] and after hearing the final cut, I still don't like it.
I listened to it several times and I really tried to like it but in vain, I'm sorry. I have been listening to his music for many years and that particular piece just sounds different (to me) and not as good as I expect Meat Loaf to sound like.
I usually like his singing, even on songs that I consider rather weak (he has the ability to make even such songs sound interesting and special) and I liked every bit of music I've heard in the videos so far but this is the first one I'm not overly excited about.
Don't know what the entire song sounds like, maybe I'll like it? There are some songs on the Beatles' White Album that I don't like to listen to, yet the album as a whole is one of my favorites.
I might not like what I heard on those two clips but others do, so what's the problem? People sometimes disagree on certain issues, that's normal.
However, that's a small part of a larger song which inturn is one song off an whole album. I don't think anyone has used that tiny part and said the whole album is crap.
Well, I understand that he's pissed off because he puts a lot of effort in it and wants people to appreciate his work. It sometimes appears as if he pays more attention to negative comments than to positive ones (but then again many people tend to do that).
Anyway, calling long-time fans "saboteurs" and "amateur vocal coaches" is just not fair.
Even if people say something that appears negative - it shows that they care about what the artist is doing. (!)
I'm here to discuss certain Meat Loaf related topics with other fans because I'm honestly interested in the music, the movies etc. (and I'm glad that some members of this forum often disagree with me on certain issues, this is what makes this place interesting). I'm not here to be a kissass.
No need to get angry, we're all interested in your work and we appreciate the little vids. None of us is a "saboteur", we just like to talk about a piece of work, sometimes we agree, sometimes we disagree.
If I'll be called a "saboteur" from now on, so be it. I can deal with it, I'm a big girl and I have a thick skin. :-) But do I really wanna hear my favorite artist dishing out insults?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the album in spite of what's happening right now and I hope everybody will calm down. :D
In case this doesn't make any sense, blame it on the fact that it's pretty late (or early). Even night owls like me get tired sometimes.

Agreed. For Meat to post anything from his studio recording was pretty special .. and imo was just to share the process with us, not to invite judgement or assessment of his singing, the song or the album, and those who rushed to it on the basis of a few bars got the response they should surely have been able to predict. Perhaps they did.
Meat's in the middle of creating a new album .. it's his baby. To me, offering judgement on any small glimpses we get into what will finally be produced it a bit like looking at a parent-to-be's scan, predicting what will finally enter the world, finding it wanting, and informing the proud parent ..
Personally I feel privileged to be allowed into the studio via the tweets, and I too hope they continue, although I don't know whether we'll hear any more fragments from songs now, which would be to me, you and many others, a shame.

To add to my previous post.
I remember reading an article for the 2006 album, that he disliked being in the studio. I think I recall him saying it drove him mad, being inside for many hours (please correct me Meat if this is wrong) but for this record, he looks like he's enjoying himself. Perhaps its because the studio is set in a home, gives it a more relaxed feeling and so if he feels good, he's gonna feel like sharing his "works in progress" with us and so he has done.
As I'm reading, I agree with Caryl in that it is his baby and he's proud of what he's achieved so far and so he wants to share his proudness with us....
Why do people have to jump the gun all the time?

If the vibe at the studio is positive then that is great! I wouldn't let any of the stuff (positive or negative) on this board influence any of that. It is simply not worth it. Boards like this on the internet are mostly a huge wastebin where posts are collected and most of the posts are written as a spur of the moment thing, they do not define who people are.
Did any of this stuff posted here in the past matter to the creative process of creating music (CHSIB/BAT 3)? I seriously doubt it. :sherlock: I really wouldn't want anyone on this board (except for Meat and the band) have any influence on what the next album is going to sound like. Hence I think the patronising on how Meat should sing is completely wrong.
Having an opinion is good though (I liked this/I liked that / I didn't like this because....). Apathy is a very bad thing imo!

I think the creation of albums are special things and as I am a music nut, I always like to see how an album was created. Usually after it has been released, which is why I always like the making of Pump and all the classic album programmes. They are always very interesting to me.
So while I would love to be able to see a b-side on meat's next single containing a demo version of another song from the album, as many artists have done (bryan adams and def leppard recently spring to mind) I don't really want to hear it until it comes out.
TMIL was a great song but I thought it kind of got lost in the shuffle because it was leaked earlier, I realise why you did that meat because 40 seconds of it didn't give a great representation of the song.
Nor does 15 seconds of the vocal recording we heard in the first tweeter vid.
But hey all of this is just me. Meat (or Sir Loaf as I should say) It looks like you're having a great time recording it and Rob Cavallo has produced some really good albums and I am personally hoping it tops them.
I wouldn't say we should all live or die by those 15 seconds we've heard and the subsequent ending...but as usual bandwagons can be jumped on by both sides in here.
roll on the new album
please don't hang on anymore .
M
Ah, come on, Meat. I said positive things about all of your videos that involved music except one and just because of that you want to drive one of your most loyal fans away? I'm sorry but you won't get rid of me that easily.
I just expressed my personal opinion (which I have the right to) I've never intended to offend anyone, especially not you.
I'm not that impressed by his vocals but it's hard to judge the quality of his singing by a clip that's just 15 seconds long. I'm actually glad to finally hear him sing in one of the videos. [...] Well, it's just 15 seconds, I'll wait and see what he'll sound like on the CD... [...] Don't know what the entire song sounds like, maybe I'll like it? [...] Anyway, I'm looking forward to the album
Is this really such a horrible thing to say? Is it really that bad that there are one or two things I'm not immediately fond of? Would I be a better fan if I pretended to like everything? Do you like bootlickers?
I'm sorry that I can't be 100% positive all of the time (I'd probably become afraid of myself if I was). Mind you, I've never said "it is bad" but "I'm not overly excited about it". There's a difference.
Have you never heard a piece of music of which you thought "nah, that's not my cup of tea"?
Uploading that video actually was a nice, generous and bold move but you should have known that people will talk about it. And maybe some people will just not be as excited about it as others.
You've been in the business for about four decades and some people have indeed said / written really nasty things about you, yet you even consider people "saboteurs" who actually love and praise most of the things you've done. I don't get it.
Can't you be postive for a chnage
A lot of positive things have been said about you on this forum, why do you only pay attention to the negative ones or the ones you consider negative?
I've spent a small fortune on your records and on concert tickets, had a lot of fun at your live shows, even dragged non-fans to them who later told me that it was one of the best experiences of their lives. I still consider you one of the most gifted entertainers even if you currently treat some of your fans in a way I don't approve of.
I'm a little shocked and disappointed about your (over)reaction and about the fact that people are being called "haters" just because they dare to express an honest opinion instead of sucking up.
The positive image that I have of Meat Loaf is beginning to crumble and about to be replaced by something that makes me sad. I don't want that to happen and I hope the current trouble is just temporary.
Okay, I better stop now. I'm sure you're busy and I don't want any arguments have an impact on your current work. As I said earlier, I hope everybody will calm down and yes, I will hang on. ;)

what we all should keep in mind is that Meat puts all of his energy into recording this album. That's a thing I like about him, he doesnt do a half arsed job, either he does it 100% or he doesnt do it at all.
So keeping that in mind, it's absolutely understandable that he's very sensitive and protective over his work. Especially after the general failure of Bat3.
So let's all cut him some slack, eh? :))

I guess saying that I love Meat Loaf's voice and music makes me a suck up  and that is my honest opinion :yep:
And by far the majority of us do feel the same, and feel privileged to be included Meat .. but ass-kickers rarely concern themselves with the feelings of the enthusiastic and excited person whose ass they're kicking.

I can't agree more. I am so into the twitters that I send them to my friends who aren't on there following them. The little bit of the song, IMO, sounded good, I got very excited by it, first thought that came to my mind was another tear jerker, get out the tissues. I had to watch it a couple of times to understand it but them there was another video explaining it. Which now makes more sense to me that it was recorded, if I remember correctly, about 3 times. Not all songs on all your albums I like, but it's only one out of how many on an album? It's not going to stop me from buying this one either. I watch these videos before I go to work and they really help me to get into a good mood before going to the hell hole for the day. PLEASE KEEP THEM UP!!!!

Pudding,
I didn't put the video up to be judged. I put it up in the same spirt as all the others I've posted. It was a spur of the moment thing. Just thought people would have fun
Even though you put it up just for fun, which is totally appreciated, at the end of the day it's a small section of a track that's part of an album that's eagerly anticipated and has been for quite some time.
You're living this album each and every day, we're not, and the tiny snippets we do get will inevitably get analyzed and over-analyzed, because that's what we have to go on. Some like the clip, some don't, but that reaction isn't unusual to anything you've done before.
Despite the fact I'm not keen on the short snippet given, I'm still going to buy the album and no doubt those who have given their honest opinion (which is a tough call on a Meat Loaf forum where Meat Loaf visits) they're still going to buy the album too.
I guess saying that I love Meat Loaf's voice and music makes me a suck up  and that is my honest opinion :yep:
To avoid any misunderstanding: I definitely was not going to imply that someone who likes something that someone else dislikes and who says that they like it is a kissass. Please don't read something into my postings that I've never said and never intended to say.
I just wanted to point out that I don't want to conceal my real opinion on certain topics. If I like something I'll say that I like it, if there's something I don't like that much I have the right to express my opinion on that as well.
I think that's what most of the users of this board do. Some just appreciate everything Meat Loaf does (which is absolutely fine), some might like 80% or 90% but might not be excited about the rest. Is that bad? No matter which group you belong to, the fact that certain issues are being discussed, that something is being praised or criticized shows that the members of this forum are interested in Meat Loaf and his music, movies, concerts, TV appearances etc.
I'm astonished about the fact that one is apparently regarded as an enemy (?) because of having expressed a slightly "negative" opinion after dozens of positive ones. But it seems as if you can say "I like the videos, they're informative, amusing, thanks for introducing all those people yadda-yadda-yadda" a hundred times, that's all being ignored once you dare to confess that there's a single thing you're not immediately 100% fond of.
Pudding another thing. The vibe at the studio is so positive . From everyone who comes in and hears a track or a song. They are just so up and amazed. Everyone from everywhere is wanting to work on it. I am just like a little excited boy and I wanted my fans to feel the same and be part of it. just thought everyone would be happy here. but it is 2009. I'm not in Kansas anymore Toto

I loved Wednesday's tweet of Meat singing live. It was a generous gift to us, and though I don't want to dispute what Meat himself has said, I didn't take it as "fun" at all, but as an act of sharing. In fact, it kind of blew me out of the water, and eclipsed the rest of my usual "Meat Loaf morning" (I save the vids for morning because that's when I enjoy them the most); I had to turn off the computer early and go do other things, just to let it sink in. I would never have guessed he would send us a vid of himself singing full throttle!! (I did love the one where he was singing softly) so it was a big surprise, just the fact of Meat giving of himself in such an open, unguarded way.

It is never thought out . it just happens. I can't play anymore music. BECAUSE IT WILL BE JUDGED, my bad. So I won't. Sorry to the ones who enjoy it . I am not asking you to kiss my ass just enjoy the fun. I guess I was just excited because it is going so good and I haven't sung this well since the 70's. I am just stupid in the ways of the world. I am always shocked and amazed. I know I don't like beets because I tasted one. Why do people have to always judge. How can you have an opinion over 6 bars. it is impossible.
M
I could not agree more, and that is not sucking up. It is not likely you can draw a very strong opinion from a snippet of what you have seen is a work literally in progress before your eyes. I know of no other artist who would do this and I appreciate Meat for giving us these glimpses. Sometimes I think the internet has spoiled us all. I am amazed that I get to see my favorite singer working in the studio, singing live and see it almost instantly. That is something I'd never have thought would ever be possible both in terms of technology and the willingness of the performer to open themselves up to their fans like that. Unfortunately the internet has also made us think we should all give the world our opinions instantly and just blurt them out no matter how uninformed we are. I know nothing about making albums and Meat's been doing it for decades, for heaven's sake people let the man do his work and appreciate him giving us these peeks at the process. If you want to put down the album after it comes out fine. But please don't mess up something it is obvious most of us enjoy and will only make us more ready for and excited about the finished product. I hope Meat will listen to the people who are positive and not let the negatives get him down to where he stops these. I'd like to have these updates all the way up to the release. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but for goodness sakes lets wait until we have more to go on than a raw clip of a few seconds before trying to tell a man who is a legend of rock and roll how to sing.

Either way, I agree 100%
Edit: thinking about it, I get really protective of my amateur tribute tracks at the link below, and would be very upset with criticism of my vocals, regardless of what I think of them myself. Yes, I realised when I posted them that I was opening myself up to a kicking - but that doesn't mean I'd enjoy being kicked, or that I wouldn't kick back. I guess no one likes to be told someone doesnt like something they put a lot of effort into.
So, totally get where you're coming from Meat, but I think you sound fantastic. Tons of power and emotion in that unique and beautiful voice.

My opinion, i think meat should let the negetive nanny-poos say what they say and then he can laugh at them incessantly when they realise they were wrong and the song's kickass....
From what I hear, it has a real emotional curve handle with "lets be love theres no tomorrow ..." (i think thats what the lyrics are - i'm 18 so ipods have done wonders to my ears). It has the feel of "Did i say That". it sounds more Live to me, which, IMO, suits this segment perfectly.
Now its story time children:
Granted i used to not be fond frying pan cause the "wonder down the ancient hallway" verse was the only thing on the preview at this wallmart gift center scan thing. Lets just say that verse is not impressive by itself. It was the only song previewable on the scan thing.
i saved 20 bucks and bought BOOH2 on the notion it wasn't gonna be that good. i skipped frying pan for like 3 months straight till finally i listened to it and i regret that to this day.

The comments about the "vocal coaching" have been addressed already and yes I can see why Meat wasn't too happy with it.
What I would like to see, and have wanted to ever since I started posting here, is people being allowed to express themselves within reason and to not be afraid to post something just because it isn't perceived as positive.
If you happened to like the song clips from the recent videos, great, music is there to be interpreted and enjoyed in many different forms by many different people.
All i would say to that is people have differing opinions, some may not have liked it and some may have neither liked it or disliked it (i would fall into the latter category) and while some may have been put across more bluntly then they should have been, they are still people's opinions.
What I'm trying to say is, let's try and be civil without going over the top, being insulting, condesending or patronising.
Let's not go the route of a well known forum that descended into chaos where posts of anything but 110% praise where jumped all over.
This is a forum, it's about debate, it's about getting points across and maybe just maybe it can be about having some fun and banter in here again and bringing back something that hasn't been used as much in a long time; respect.

You can't have a good debate here, because there's too much moderation. If you're an outspoken person you're made feel very uncomfortable because everything written about Meat Loaf has to be positive. I feel like I have to bite my tongue and I just jump on the bandwagon. That's not what I want and I'm sure deep down Meat Loaf doesn't want that either.

I agree it is pretty tightly moderated. I think people should be able to express things that are not necessarily positive. In this thread I think people should just wait to hear a proper version of the product before being overly critical. I can't judge anything by a snippet of a few seconds, especially when it is an incomplete product. How many times have movie trailers made bad films look great? I doubt Meat or anyone else would have a problem with criticizing his other albums - I've heard him call some of them bad himself. I think the thing here is that he provided a glimpse of what he is working on as a bit of a treat and people seemed to be reacting negatively to something he isn't done with yet. I may be wrong but that's what I think he was a little put off by.
2 new videos are there and they sound great. I don't know who those people are singing but they are really fantastic. Now are they there to work on their own stuff or with Meat Loaf????

Not sure what to make of the Justin Hawkins one, but the first one with James Michael seemed good.
I would presume they are to do with Meat's album but Rob Cavallo works with a lot of artists at the same time, so who knows.
@loaferman61
As far as I remember those who said that they don't like what they heard in the video clearly stated that they'd have to listen to the entire song / album to know whether it's good or bad. No one has judged the song or the album in advance so far, at least not in this thread. Any criticism referred only to the 15 seconds clip. Whether it's useful or appropriate to say anything about those 15 seconds at all is another story.
And now I will say something positive (yes, I can ;)):
I like to hear Rick Brantley singing. He sometimes reminds me of the young Bruce Springsteen. Justin Hawkins: good singer, fantastic (!) guitar player. The Darkness were a great band, but I know only one Meat Loaf fan who likes them. Most Meat Loaf fans I know hate them. Does anybody know where that dislike comes from?
I would presume they are to do with Meat's album but Rob Cavallo works with a lot of artists at the same time, so who knows.
I read something on Hawkins' Twitter page some days ago regarding that he was writing in L.A. with Eric Nally and Meat said in one of the videos that Nally was involved in making the album. There have been several videos with Michael, Brantley and Hawkins. I don't think that they just film them because they are bored or don't have anything else to show.
It seems as if there is a second voice at the end of the Hawkins video that sounds a little like Meat's. But the loudspeakers I'm currently using are pretty crappy, so I'm not sure.
Meat! It's great seeing all the tweeters! The reason why I'm so drawn to them is because my cousin corey and I are doing the same thing. He plays guitar, and I write the lyrics. I know there's a bias on my part, but these songs are amazing. We would love for you to hear some rough recordings we made. I could add the lyrics in a PM or something. You're a very cool guy to me and the majority of social circle. I'll see what I can put on the youtube this weekend. If anything catches your ear of interest, you are more than welcome to use it :D

Secondly, to all you who want to judge a 15ish second clip, come off it people. Have you all fallen off your rockers? You cannot judge how good a song is by a clip! You have to listen to the whole thing and see how it plays out.
I don't like posting here because im afraid I will be banned immediately if I say something that someone doesnt like. That is not how a community should be. is it?
Hello, I'm new here. you can call me WarioGrl1 if you like

I Really like the justin Hawkin's segment.
I guess this is Meat's first male/male duet since "Rock'n Roll mercenaries", which is Fantastic (and RRM was a fantastic song IMO)!
thanks Meat!

I also like the James Michael and Rick Brantley video, though i never heard them, cause i'm terrible like that, but i take it thats a song called "the edge" off an album of some kind and not on this puppy
Oh well both good videos. made me wanna order a pizza, but its 1:11 am here so I'm screwed. Thanks for that too

They did, in fairness, say that they didn't like those 15 seconds and that they'd need to hear the rest of the song to decide on the whole thing.
That said, it's a bit like judging the Chrysler building from the first 50 feet (yes, I did do the maths).

What I would like to see, and have wanted to ever since I started posting here, is people being allowed to express themselves within reason and to not be afraid to post something just because it isn't perceived as positive.
Absolutely
Problem being, if Meat sees something he doesn't like he throws a wobbly then you have others jumping on the bandwagon, quoting Meat, throwing wobblies too and before you know it, shit has hit the fan. At times it's like a 'who's the biggest Meat Loaf fan' and if you don't agree with everything he says and does then you're not a Meat Loaf fan at all.

Do you know the song, "Amnesty Is Granted" Meat Loaf recorded back in
1995. With much respect to you, it was a duet with vocals being shared by Meat Loaf and a man named Sammy Haggar.

Just to clear things up:
The service is called Twitter.
You can find it at twitter.com (http://twitter.com).
An individual update is often called a tweet.
Posting on Twitter is sometimes called tweeting. Or you can say "I need to Twitter this."
So, I'm on Twitter, posting my tweets (http://twitter.com/evilnickname).
@realmeatloaf (http://twitter.com/RealMeatLoaf) is tweeting too.
So, please, no more of this "W00t! That vid in Meat's latest twitter was the r0xxorz!" nonsense. The video in the latest tweet or update was da shizzle. No one's twittering, and only tweeps are allowed to take this PSA too serious.
I enjoy watching meat loaf and the band on twitter it helps me pass the time a way when i have got nothing to do

I think the song sounds really interesting, thanks for the sneek peek. I have to second the above by saying please don't stop posting the peeks at the songs, I like all the ones i have heard so far, and the voice sounds incredibly strong in my opinion.
Can't wait for the album!

Hmm, so Meat is trying to bit a bit provocative in his latest video with the skit about making an apple pie and Paul Crook saying it sucks before it's even cooked. But the analogy with what's been said on here and the apple pie skit doesn't work because Meat hadn't cooked the apple pie yet, where with the 15 second clip he's already given us a taste.
How-f*cking-ever, the video clip is funny, apart from Meat using the wrong sort of apples :)) <--- that's a smilie.
Wrong Pudding, all I did on my sample was show you the apples. You didn't taste a thing.
M
It's was the only apples I had. :-)

If you go to an Italian restaurant and ask for spaghetti and meatballs and the chef offers you a taste of one of his meatballs before the whole dish is complete and the sauce has been added, you'd still have an opinion about that meatball. That's what you did with that clip. You gave us a quick taste of one of your meatballs, without any sauce added ;)
Now some would gladly take a nibble of one of your meatballs and say it tastes delicious regardless. But anyone who knows anything about cooking knows it's the sauce that finishes the dish. I'd like my sauce please :)) <--- another smilie.
