Anyone know if Amanda Aday is part of the tour in November?

Hi there!

Last I heard Meat mentioned that she was going to be starring in a new HBO series. So, I would imagine she might be busy with that, instead of the tour (although HBO series often only have 7 or 8 episodes to begin with, I think. That would open the possibility of her joining the tour later in the year).

Went to the HBO website, by the way, but couldn't find out anything more about it. If anyone hears anything, please post it! Would love to know what the series is going to be like. :?

Hope this helps a little!

Love,
MB

I doubt it. Amanda and Pearl have taken different career paths. Amanda has chosen to dedicate herself totally to acting (unlike Meat which has done both). From reviews I've read over the years, she's made one-off appearances from time to time, but I think it would be extremely unlikely to see her join the band in an official capacity.

HBO means Home Box Office.

At the concert in Amsterdam Meat mentioned Amanda and told she was busy with her acting career. He said something about that she might be winning a film-award before he does. But what he said his reaction would be in that case is something I'd rather have Meat/Fire Ball tell here himself!!!!!!!! :D

Did they mean Pearl? Amanda never toured with Meat and it's not even clear whether she can sing...

lol .. well as coupdeville hasn't posted in 7 years we may never know what the enquiry was about ..

No, Amanda is an actress rather than a singer and has never "toured in the band" with Meat, although back then she sometimes accompanied him for periods. Classy young woman who was always so friendly and skilled at meeting Meat's fans .. an apple that didn't fall far from the tree and a credit to him imo, as is his other daughter who has such a wonderful voice and brilliant personality. No wonder he's so proud of them both!

Nothing but they don't seem to cross paths that way...

This is a thread bump, but I have seen her on stage as part of her daddy's show!

Well...live and learn...she isn't advertising it much...neither does he as a matter of fact...

She was at her dad's show during the Just Havin Fun Tour in Cleveland...she joined the band just for the acoustic set to the end of the show...

Yeah. From memory she was the checkout girl in the supermarket when Leslie couldn't afford the groceries.

I may be mistaken but im sure that on more than one occasion in the past I have seen Amanda and Lesley stood at the side of the stage

During the Just Havin' Fun tour, Amanda came on stage for "Two Outta Three". She shared a stool with Pearl. I don't know if she can actually sing or not because most of the band was singing along.

I think Amanda appeared in a small role as a reporter in her dad's movie "Crazy in Alabama".

I can't swear to it, as it was my first M&G with Meat, so my mind was kind of all over the place, at the time.
It was the CHSIB tour, New Hampshire USA, 2005, and when we were led backstage to meet Meat, one of the first people I saw. was a girl sitting on a chair, not far from the back of the stage, in the hallway, whom looked a bit familiar at the time but nothing was making much sense about then, if you know what I mean. :) It was only much later when I reran the nights events back in my mind, that I realized that girl could well have been, Amanda. She didn't make an onstage appearance that night, was just backstage.

Amanda has inherited his beautiful eyes and his lovely smile. She is bright, warm, full of humour, friendly and charming, and I've seen her fielding intrusive questions from Meat's fans with a gracious ease that does her and her father such credit. A lovely young woman he must be so proud of, and rightly so.

She is in a new film South Dakota, listed as coming out in the US this April

Exactly right Caryl. I talked to her after the show at the MSG during the Bat 3 tour ... she's a very sweet, down to earth young woman and I wish her the best of luck in her career :-)

All of the above comments are correct. Amanda has come on stage for a song or two over various tours and has had a bit part in a few of Meat's movies. She's also appeared in a few of his music videos.

Amanda focuses on the acting side of things. In addition to South Dakota, she has also filmed a new movie called Restoration Dogs (http://www.restorationdogs.com/), a parody of the film Reservoir Dogs set in Restoration era London.

A bit off topic but it's about Amanda.

Pearl posted:

Hey All! My sister Amanda's episode of "My Name Is Earl", titled "Orphan Earl" will re-air on TBS on Tue 3/9 at 12:30 AM. She plays Tammy, 1 of the trailer park neighbors. 1 of her lines was singled out by a reviewer at TV Guide as 1 the highlights of the episode, and "Earl" fans regard it as one of the best of the sea...son! B sure to catch this rad episode w/ my super talented, and hilarious, & beautiful sister!!!!

It's not a bit part. Amanda plays one of Joy's neighbors and is part of a scheme that is central to the plot of the episode. She gets more screen time in this episode than she did in most episodes of Carnivale.
