yes. HCW was a special performance and FCOL was only performed prior to meat's gruff voice change

Finally something for a true meat loaf fan to drool over :DDDD

rockpalast > MSO > 3 bats LIVE

now all we need is bad attitude live (unedited) on DVD

According to the Rockpalast website (http://www.rockpalastarchiv.de/setlist/set1978.html) (you might need to scroll down a bit) that's all that's listed for the setlist.

Out of interest, when you scroll down the page you'll pass a group called Rubinoos, Kasim Sulton was in that group for a period of time, but I don't know if he played in that concert. SueW will probably know more if he did or didn't.

Bad Attitude Live is the best official live video so far. But I'm afraid your wish is in vain.

According to the Rockpalast website (http://www.rockpalastarchiv.de/setlist/set1978.html)...

FYI: That is not the official Rockpalast page but a very useful private archive. The official page is www.rockpalast.de (German only, sorry) on which you can find info on current DVD releases, too. It also has an archive but it does not contain info on concerts that took place before 1996.

Additional info (slightly off-topic): Those of you who like Marion Raven can watch her Rockpalast performance here:

Awesome!
I just hope it will be remastered in some way (at least the video), or that at least someone takes that damn timer out that blocks a fourth of the screen lol

I'd much more fancy a proper release of the 'History of Meat Loaf' show from Florida 93. Especially as it cut off before the end of BOOH :bicker: and is missing some other songs that were recorded as well.

Or maybe a release of the Hudson Theater 93 show with Mr Steinman joining Meat on stage...according to some people the show must have been recorded on video, as there are a few snippets on several documentaries. If I ever got to see that one on DVD, I'd die happy.

I agree, that would be great. I guess I'm gonna buy some candles, too, but I'm not very good at dancing and chanting. I'll probably awake the wrong powers and cause a release of a CD that has "All songs by Diane Warren" printed on the cover.

Yes to Bad Attitude Live and History Of Meat Loaf Live. There was also a concert recorded in Germany on the Born To Rock tour. Bat, AFL and Rubber were shown on some TV programme.

This is great news - hope it gets the remaster treatment it deserves (the benchmark being Bruce at Hammersmith 1975). Would be nice to come with a live CD from that era - eg remastered my father's place or similar

As to other releases -

Bad attitude live with restored songs not in the original release (esp I'm gonna lover her if it exists) I think this is a great show and probably the best produced of all the 80s videos

I would like one of the 81/82 shows to be spruced up for reissue. My first Meat live shows. Wembley is probably the better production and there should be more out there (the sleeve always used to list read em and weep). I do like the Dortmund show though - Davey Johnstone is great

I think both the above would be marketable as full DVDs (and at least 85 and 82 are based on previous vhs issues), not sure about other shows but like others I would like to see Hudson 1993 (at least include the Jim bits as extras on the rockpalast dvd!)

Also there is another 89/92 show that is probably more 'pro shot' than Toads - Pat Thrall is in it so its either 89/90 or 92

Having said all that - will settle for rockpalast, many thanks to Meat!

Good post Mick.
Bruce at Hammersmith 75 sounds like it was recorded yesterday. The quality is unbelievable imo.

As others have pointed out I'd love some 1993 material too as Meat was just incredible then imo.

dont think that's a possiblity as the rights to those clips (hell, if they even exist!) would be owned by someone completely different than the rockpalast footage.

I dont even think that the descision to release this came from Meat. It's all in the hands of who owns the rights. In this case it would be one of the German public broadcasting stations, who were responsible for recording/airing. As it was recorded in Offenbach, HR would mostly be likely. Although it could be that by now Rockpalast have their own distribution company. (not sure on that one)

RadioMaster

'course not. I'm saying the people who are gonna publish the rockpalast dvd probably wont have the rights to put the Jim clips from Hudson Theater on there as well.

Both of which I was not at but certainly made me feel extremely sad. I'm glad he has bounced back and as ForCryingOutLoud put it: Jesus came back to life once.., so what?! Rockpalast is a WDR series, HR doesn't have anything to do with it. I have a Rory Gallagher Rockpalast show that was recorded in Wiesbaden (i.e. within HR area), yet it was produced by WDR. The licensing is done by a distributor. It used to be Studio Hamburg, as far as I know but I don't know whether that is still the case.

A DVD of the Rockpalast show would be amazing...I was lucky enough to snag a bootleg of (I believe) the whole show a few years ago, and it's excellent.

Is this definitely confirmed then? On the way, not just a hope and a prayer?

Of course a live (through the years) anthology would be even better, but the fact that there's no Bat 1 era Meat shows available officially is a crying show and something that should be rectified immediately.

24 Jun 2009, 00:08
As Rockman demonstrates there is official footage without the timer on - just happens the only version some kind person could purloin for bootleg purposes was some rough vt edit or something that had the master timer on

RadioMaster
24 Jun 2009, 09:27
there's a difference between official and officially released videos. The one on rockman is the version that aired on german tv, which, afaik, doesnt exist in a better quality. The one with the timer must be a master tape or soemthing, cause it containes more songs than the tv version. When they actually go and release it, I'm pretty sure they'll find a way to use a version without the timer.
