Does anyone here have this? Is it worth the $400 tag price? I love Michael Whelan's work and, for that price, I hope he's included all/most of his work.

Disclaimer up front: I don't have the book.
"The Art of Michael Whelan" is from 1993, so it won't contain any work he's done after that.
Since you mention it costing $400, I assume you're speaking of the Signed & Limited Edition (http://michaelwhelan.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=39_23&products_id=37&osCsid=798d3428b9bcfb7d3e2678e1cdb997be) he sells through his website. That's something altogether different from the regular edition (that seems out of print, but is readily available through the Amazon marketplace (http://www.amazon.com/Art-Michael-Whelan/dp/0553074474/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_3) and the like), and for what it is—a high-quality, limited, unique edition—$400 seems a reasonable price. If it's worth $400 is a different question altogether.

Something is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it, I wouldn't be willing to part with $400 for a picture book :nope:
