Dear Sin,

My problem is that i'm a POSTWHORE. People keep telling me that it's just a phase and that i'll grow out of it, but i know it's not..it's a part of me and who i am.
I want to tell my family but i'm scared that they will disown me. I'm really confused, but i can't help what i am. Any advice???

I understand your dilema. You have tried to make amends and this should be received as intended. I think you have possibly managed to get out of this one. But you should use this opportunity to reflect on your actions and not toy with peoples affection

Heat

The issue here is not what others think of you, but how you feel about yourself :!:
Every individual needs to be comfortable with their actions and the consequences of them.
If you are happy with your life style then you need to pluck up the courage and tell you family and friends. Maybe have a party and invite all those you love and care for stand up in the middle of the room and make an annoucement....I AM A POSTWHORE.
They will be astounded of course but will I assure you stand by you.

p.s. do you want a T-shirt?

Roll on next week on half term I'll play it 24 hours a day 8O

Mr Skulls it looks like you have a serious problem here. You will learn that the one thing a woman is allow to be flexable with is her age
In my opinion you should take your punishment like a man and also volunteer for extra chores and make sure your bedroon is extra clean and tidy.

Well Dottie my dear we seem to have the age old love triangle here :!:
Maybe it is time to re-evaulate your relationship. However having said that divorce is darned expensive these days, and really hubby was a good sport and with out him you would not have had the experience.

My remedy would be to create a spare room, build one if necessary get a really large TV screen and closet yourself in there all day and all night.

Dear Aunty Sin,
My problem is I'm having trouble keeping up with this forum. Every time I come back there's lots of new pages and I'm 42 and getting slow..
I tried having a reminder sent by mail, but then I get swamped with reminder.
The obvious answer is spending more time here, but I am so afraid that my buns get flatter and flatter from sitting here so long. And my eyes are turning into something that looks like this 8O
And yesterday, I called my daughter Dottie instead of Eva :?
Do you have any advice for me? :D

Dear Aunty Sin,
My problem is I'm having trouble keeping up with this forum.

Dear Guppie

This is a very sad case of what I like to call the CRAFT syndrome
C an't
R emember
A
F ***ing
T hing

Now this is not necessarily age related however the worst senario is pre-senile dementia, so I'd get that checked out first
Secondly, it could be strss related so you need to take some time and chill out..... get a nice soft cushion to sit on(to protect your buns), stick a label on your daughter so you remember her name and ask her very kindly if she can read over your shoulder to save your eyes.

Now you will probably find that if you visit more often but for smaller time slots this will be beneficial.

Failing that open a bottle of wine get wrecked and and stay on here permanently

I think you are suffering from a deep set insecurity issue here. Tell me do you still have a teddy bear?
Try this little excerise..... sit quietly and look into a corner at two adjoining walls........do they gradually move towards you :??:

Dear Keab42

There are several issues here and I quite agree it is definately not insecurity related.

I would first ask you to consider the following:- who has provided the computer? who clothes and feeds you?
Get the idea? Now Mum's are very special infact I have one myself

I think it is perfectly in order for your mum to have the lions share of computer time. However maybe you need to sit down for a family discussion and work out a rota. 8O You could offer to do extra chores for extra computer time.
Maybe even save up and get your own computer and you'll have all the time you want.

It looks like group therapy has been beneficial too you.
What you need to consider now is if you are happy with your life style.
If the answer is yes then proclaim that you are a Postwhore with pride at least 15 times a day and note that badges will be on there way

I am a postwhore wanna-be, I fear! I love to see my number of posts go up, but I just can't bring myself to post needlessly so it's rather defeating. I check my average posts per day constantly. Even worse, I am going on a holiday the entire month of July, completely away from the Internet and I'm actually concerned what 30 days of not posting will do to my posts per day average! Can I be rehabilitated? (Or do I need to go all out postwhoring and drop a quick 60-100 posts right before I leave on vacation- now THERE's an idea!)

Dear Sherrie

This is a truly sad case and the effect of the postwhoring virus on the entire community is concerning. 8O I think it is now reaching pandemic proportions and wonder whether I should make a report to WHO. It must be equal to SARS!
Now it would seem that in your case it is a perception thing. You are quite right to be more concerned about quality of posts rather than quantity. But need not worry of others opinion.
The constant checking, however is a sign of obsessive compulsive behaviour and you need to rectify this straight away. Try setting up a small device to give you an electric shock each time you check.
You should pace you self before your vacation and attempt a gentle withdrawal this will be less of a shock to your system.
Failing that get a laptop with a modem and link up wherever you can.

A truly complex problem….and one dear to my heart  ........now the simplest solution to this would be to drink directly out of the bottle. Other options would be:-
Attach a small piece of metal to all your bottles and buy yourself a large magnet 8O
Bribe someone to fetch it for you
Buy a long straw :P
Buy a fishing rod and try to hook it :!:
Take this opportunity to stop  ………..nah not a good one I know

Dear Bren

You have several options here.
1/ You could cancel your holiday and therefore avoid all the stress related trauma of Forum withdrawal. ( fake an illness and your insurance may cover this  )
2/ Go get a laptop with modem link.
3/ Check out the area before you go and locate all of the cyber cafes etc.
4/ Grab the opportunity with both hands and change your life style!

I am sure that you will not easily be forgotten in such a short time ( who are who by the way).
To catch up on the posts you make have to have extra time at home and dedicate yourself for 72 hours of catch up.( alchol may help you through this)
As for postwhoring it is my belief that once a postwhore always a postwhore...so no worrys there

SCENE II. The island. Before PROSPERO'S cell.
Enter PROSPERO and MIRANDA
MIRANDA
If by your art, my dearest father, you have
Put the wild waters in this roar, allay them.
The sky, it seems, would pour down stinking pitch,
But that the sea, mounting to the welkin's cheek,
Dashes the fire out. O, I have suffered
With those that I saw suffer: a brave vessel,
Who had, no doubt, some noble creature in her,
Dash'd all to pieces. O, the cry did knock
Against my very heart. Poor souls, they perish'd.
Had I been any god of power, I would
Have sunk the sea within the earth or ere
It should the good ship so have swallow'd and
The fraughting souls within her.
PROSPERO
Be collected:
No more amazement: tell your piteous heart
There's no harm done.

Dear Aunty Sin,

I'm really not sure if you'll be able to help, you see my problem is that I don't have a problem, ya see my problem? After looking through previous posts here, unlike other members I haven't upset anyone (well I don't think I have), I'm not a postwhore (am I?), I haven't disclosed anyone's age without their permission, I'm not overly obsessive (well not anymore than usual), I usually manage to stay fairly up to date with the forums (when my computer is working), I'm also fairly certain that I exist (you can see me right?), also none of my piercings are stuck to any magnets nor has any of my drinlks been spiked.

So you see I don't think I actually have a problem... Anyway the voices are telling me I have to go now, so good bye...

Dear Aunty Sin,
My problem is I'm having trouble keeping up with this forum.
And yesterday, I called my daughter Dottie instead of Eva :?
Do you have any advice for me? :D

Failing that open a bottle of wine get wrecked and and stay on here permanently
lol lol.... he he... I'm working on the wine-thingy

Dear Termin8orjen

I think what we have here is an "over active perfection driver", and although you cannot yet recognise it your post is indeed a cry for help :!:
You have an overwhelming desire to be good, not offend, keep up to date with the forum and are as sure as any of us can be of your existance, also postwhoring is a concern for you.
I wonder if it is "the voices" that are prompting you in these actions?
You need to let your hair down and be just a little bit naughty from time to time.
Now hearing vioces generally does not concern me and if people think it is a problem they are only jealous because they don't hear them, but if you want to reduce the infulence the voices have on you, i suggest the following:-

1/ Go now and make a post in the "Postwhore Thread" (but please follow the postwhore pledge)
2/ Move away from the computer choose any Meat Loaf album and play it as loud as you can get away with. 8)
3/ Next time you have a drink take it from the bottle not a glass
4/ Next time the voices tell you something be assertive and make them wait 8O

If this should fail then we may have to consider demonic possession and call in an exorsist....but lets take it one step at a time.....

Thank you for the advice Sin, I'll be headed to the Postwhore thread as soon as I can, unfortunately I can't seem to tear myself away from my computer but I have compensated by playing a large selection of Meat songs really loudly through my earphones.

So far I've not heard anymore from the voices, although there is a strange ringing noise now, maybe I've got Meat a little too loud (if that's possible)

So please advise me Aunty Sin and...errmm.Uncle Tim.
The thought that from my friends i must part,
Is leaving this little bat with a broken :( heart.
.........
Now i listen to Meat Loaf whilst travelling by car
Wether the journey is near or far
It seems to shorten the time the jouney takes
If i listen to all my favourite tapes
Now just for a change the other day
Some Moody Blues i decided to play
the player didn't like it and decided to chew!!!!!!
Now me player won't work :(
What am i to do?????
Being deprived of the forums and now Meat Loaf as WELL!!!??

Oh Bren, I see your dilemma is quite plain
To discover how piece of mind you can gain
You have followed some of my advice
But the holiday cannot be put on ice
So now we must plan how you will get through
10 days without the forum and us with out you
It will be difficult no doubt of that
But I think you are really a hardy bat

I think you now need to brace yourself
Go away, enjoy and have good health
You see the forum and all us will remain
So the Threads and postcount we’ll sustain
Buy a new CD player, you deserve a treat
Then you can keep listening to The Mighty Meat,
That should keep you happy hour by hour
Come sun or rain, storm or shower.

The break will do you good! You are very close to "Postwhoreing burnout"
 The torch of postwhoring will be passed in your absence and continue to burn brightly  You will soon find that the computer fades into the background..... (but hijack your sisters whenever you can!).
This holiday sounds like you are going to get a chance to relax your family are going to be queueing up to look after the boys......so put your feet up and relax.
Now a long journey by train is very boring especially if it is cramped. There are two sure fire ways to ensure your own personal space on the train......
1/ Take a CD player and headphones......play Meat Loaf super loud so it canbe heard by others and sing-a-long  (even if they want to listen to M L, you singing will scare 'em off! )
2/ Pick up one of the twins.....lift him up...put your nose to his bottom.....and sniff......then say in a loud voice......"Oh Dear! looks like we got a nasty one here!"......then put him on a seat and go to change him.......Watch that carriage clear :!:

I need advice  I have to go away for a few days and I'm gonna miss the forum real bad  I have taken on board all the advise I gave to Bren and Heat and I still gotta go.....I have all my CD's lined up ready to go and the CD player is working.... But I'm gonna miss you guys so much even for two days

Is there any other advice you can give :??:

Aunty Sin

Dear Sin,

Some options, and one of them was to take your meat loaf disks with you, but you already packed them, what are you listening now??

Okay... you can take a picture of the forum pages, and take them with you. Or, you can take pictures from us all and take them with you
Another thing... you will be only away for 2 days orso?? Well... we won't go away and in our memory you are with us. So we think of you as you are not here.
I know you are feeling pain... but within time, it will go away. There is nothing else we can do, unless you have a laptop with internet connextion... but don't think so.

Hope that i helped you a bit.

Fondly,

The butcher, and here uncle Tim

Hello Testify,

That's a matter of time. We don't know you so well. I know that you had a warm welcome, and offcourse we are talking to you!! Sometimes it is so busy here, that it's hard to reply on another post. But trust me..... you are welcome here, and people will start to talk to you if you are around here a lot, and post some things. So don't worry, everything will be okay!!

I got too much work to do so could u either kill me, do it for me or let me know why being clever is so damned important these days?

Or ignore me

Dear Kat

Aunty Sin would never dream of ignoring you! I do not prescribe to euthinasia so I can't kill you. I doubt if I have half your brains so unfortunately I can't do it for you. What I suggest is.......
Its a tough job but only you can do it, and you need to do it for yourself no one else.......once it's over and done with you will have such a rush of wellbeing and sense of achievement you'll know its been worth it. Why not set yourself some treat milestones?? End of day one chocolate...end of day two beer....end of day 3 more beer.....end of it all.....PARTY!!!

You'll get through it and I wish you luck

Dear Testify,

Mmmm, that is a very hard problem. Maybe you are?? that is one option, but maybe, you are not insane, but your friends are. You'll never know.

But act as normal as you can, be just yourself, if people judge you on that, then they are no real friends.
And people talk a lot, cause they want to, just gossip. Don't make sence, but it is the truth.... leave it alone, and maybe your problem will disappear.

Dear Bren

This is indeed one of the side affects that I was worried about........and I'm sorry to say there is no quick fix cure 8O
Holidays tend to made you unware of time and affect the body clock which is why you are experiencing problems with sleeping and brain function
I would suggest that you slowly work your way through a bottle of whatever takes your fancy! and then you wont care about side affects and can post 'til you drop. Then when you drop........It will ensure you get a good rest and can return to your former glory!
Just remember the two cure alls in life are Meat Loaf and alcohol  and actually a third.....chocolate.....follow this regime and all will be well

Chris

This appears to be an advanced case of paranoia  However all is not lost. Just remember the following:-
1/ If people are talking about you they are leaving someone else alone 8O
2/ They are definately jealous and lonely because they don't hear the voices

If the voices are too loud and you can't hear Meat Loaf playing then you do have a serious problem  which can be solved very simply by washing your ears out......the most effective way to do this is to place your head in the toilet bowl and get someone to pulll the chain

If the voices are issuing instructions this can be dangerous and the best way to cure this is to blast them out with Meat Loaf at full volume......sometimes they will leave you alone if you deny their existance and the best way to do this is to publicaly humiliate them.......find a crowded shopping centre stand in the middle and shout loudly " begone voices you have no power over me"

Hope this helps

A friend in the darkness is worth a diamond mine 8O
You should return to the shopping centre and ask if they have heard of the convention for human rights and tell them you are going to the European court of human rights and that the voices are also suing! :?

As the voices are still with you we may have to consider either electric shock therapy, for this you will need to suck 3 9v batteries per day for two weeks.....
or it could be demonic possession.....so it may be worth a visit to the local vicar just to check

I arranged last week to collect my wonderful, caring, loving, gorgous (just in case she reads this) girlfriend from work on Sunday night.

However, come sunday i went to a BBQ in the afternoon and had a little drinkie-poos or too and forgot about her!! She got taxi home and rang me later that night to find out why i didn't pick her up!!

It did not go down well when she discovered that I spent the evening in the mlukfc chatroom, drinking beer and offering around choccie cake!!!!

I took her soem flowers and choccies to work today,

Dear Chris

Firstly I need to say :lmao: :lmao: I think you are very lucky that you never lost any vital parts of your anatomy  and for this you need to be eternally grateful to this extremely forgiving lady. I will not even begin to describe what I would have done to you
Now to make up for this very disgracful behaviour of yours I think you need to pay a very heavy penance
You have started well with flowers and choccies however lets be imaginative over this, as indeed it was a dastardly crime 8)
I woould suggest that you:-
* hire a town crier and proclaim both your love and remorse
* Lunch would be a good idea.........preferably somewhere stylish.......Paris for instance
* Diamonds work wonders
* Volunteer to be a slave for a day.....this could have big pay back
* Give her a foot massage
* Treat her to a new outfit......including shoes and handbag

However if want to take the easy option you could deny responsibility and blame it on the voices 8O
*

Chris
03 Jun 2003, 01:32
I think I have now been forgiven!! <phew>

I decided not to blame it on the voices but said I ahd been corrupted by others (probably best if Heat, Fel, R. and everyone else from chat does not go within 25 miles of her for a while!!)

<EDIT>
As an addendum to this, total forgivness was achieved today as she was driving to work when the DJ dedicated 4 songs in a row to her:

1. Always On My Mind - Willie Nelson
2. The most beautiful girl in the world - Dr Hook
3. Wind beneath my wings - Bette Midler
4. Sorry seems to be the hardest word - Elton John

Either way I'm sure he's fine and will join us shortly :D

In the meantime to waylay your worries I think you should book an opticians appointment to check your eyesight! a hearing test because it's just not normal not to hear voices! but I don't think you need the psycologist yet as your not being ignored

There are several options open to you to resolve this.....
You could offer Hubby some house keeping money and tell him he's such a dear he deserves a night down the pub  ......leaving you free to sort out the package. 8)

With regard to the package itself I would suggest that whilst you are attempting to open it you take a small skewer and made some small air holes around the mouth/nose area. 8O

Can you lift the pacakage? If so try to get it into the bath/shower and let the wrapping soak off.........but remember to support the head part out of the water 8O

Failing that bring a bucket of water to the package and care fully soak areas if you do legs and arms fisrt you may find that the package is then able to assist itself.

It is said that desperate needs call for desperate measures and if you are still stuggling you could try burning small areas........you should do this with a lighter and have plenty of water handy!!! If you can burn a small hole in a cavity area 8O or were packaging is looser you will then be able to rip the rest apart

Hope this helps

Dear Testify

The first step towards solving any problem is recognising it, so take heart you are part way there!
You need to pace yourself to ensure that you avoid forum burnout, which is a very distressing and traumatic event.
You must learn to take some time out and just be happy whatever happens  anything that comes along should be treated as a bonus and an extra 8) you can't make things happen that are out of your control.......so don't sweat it!
I don't think being obsessive about Meat is a problem infact it is an addiction much more healthy than some  Your friends obviously have a problem and no taste it should be your mission to educate them!

Dear Aunty Sin,

i have a v big problem, i was puttin the umbrella up in the back garden, you know the one that sits in the middle of the table. well i went to put it in and because im short i had to kneel on the table to put the clip in place so that it doesn't fall down, and then just i was about to get off it snapped and i went straight tru, and i grazed all my left leg shin!! i was not impressed! Now me, my brother and a mate i called for help fixed it (well sort of) we had to hold all the slats in place, while my bro put screws in. Then my dad came home and saw but didnt say alot. How should i hide it from my mum?? cos she will blow her top!! :(

Thanks Testify

Testify,

If I may interject prior to Aunty Sin. Always remember honesty is the best policy. However, bear in mind that eagles may fly but weasels do not get sucked into jet engines!!!

I think you should tell the truth and, if your mum says anyhting, tell her how much pain you are in and how badly it hurts and play for the sympathy vote (or blame the brother!)

Firstly Auntie Sin owes you one big apology! I missed your post
Not been my self lately.....but thats another story.

I don't think it's so much what you say but how you say it!
Maybe you need to work on a latino accent? 8O
And also never consider yourself alone.........just marking time
Ever heard of a dishwasher.......it can work out a lot cheaper than flowers, chocolates, rings etc etc 8)

Take a walk on the wild side be your self and you will be surprised at the results

You have to realise that there will be times like then when you seem to be out of sync with the rest of the world. 8) People are working, doing their daily chores and checking in when they can from far and wide. Or maybe like Aunty Sin they have a crappy computer and just can't get in when they want to.
So don't be disheartened and don't necessarily take it personally :!:

But to be on the safe side.........change your deodorant and have a quick shower

Hello and welcome Mrs Mouse

Please don't worry about your deodorant as Aunty Sin having spent the night at stonehenge is beyond smelling anything 8O
I see you have rapidly found your way around the boards and hope you have fun.
You will see that other community members thought their deodorant was lacking as they seemed to be out of sync, and kept missing everyone :?

It is always a good idea to try different sents and smells and can be useful to try out new ones, a good, cheap way is to stock up on all the little trial size ones they do

All I can say it the day we link the forums up to web cams and if we ever get aroma vision, this thread will take of big time:mrgreen:

I would always recommend a good stiff drink. This either masks the fact that deodorant aint working or, after a few you dont care anyway

A couple of things here! firstly stop putting yourself down, you are far from stupid. And secondly you need to realise that this is not personal to you, everyone on here has different things going on in their lives and different demands being made on their time. You are at a lucky care free age, finished your exams with time on your hands. Others like me are trying to juggle, work, home, family and leisure.
That is why you'll find people popping on and off quickly, also they might be having connection problems! amen! I can relate to that!

Keep posting, keep the music up loud and enjoy!

Never admit to having time on your hands!! Re. Chat you'll have to ask the forum Plumber or moderators! I recall a thread asking views on this but can't rember if it was off topic or site feedback. Try a search and bring it to the fore again!

Hello Orignal Sin,

I've got a dilemma... don't know what to do.... Due to lot of terrible circumstances i wasn't able to react on the forums in a normal way. Now i wanne come back, also here, but i don't know what to do!!!

Also i want to be a mod again, but don't think they let me. Then there is the problem, on the forum i feel so angry... there are so many things that i can't stand... like the complete postwhoring thing... it's way out of control, and it sucks....

Please can you help me or give me any advise (oyeah, i'm serious about this message)

You can mail / pm me or just react here.

Also i want to be a mod again, but don't think they let me.

Again, no-one will hold anything against you, just join in and who knows what might happen

Well, You will pretty quickly spot that any postwhoring only occurs in certain topics. It is quite easy to ignore thes topics and just dip into others. Also, I think a lot of people use this forum as a place for letting off steam. Try starting on the General forum and slowly dipping in here.

From what I've seen and read I think you have made most of your apologies.
I think if you need to speak futher about what happened email directly to the people you are most worried over or who were most affected and state your case.

Personally I don't think it really matters if you are a Mod. or not. We may be daft and loopy on here at times but the golden thread that runs through all our lives is Meat Loaf. However having said that we all lead different lives and this site has become a community and communites need to share the trivial parts of life, they need to laugh, cry and dream together.

People will never always agree, we will never always like what others do, that is life and what makes us individual and interesting.

Personally I think you need to jump back in.........go with the flow.........and where postwhoring is in the appropraite place and within "The Postwhore Pledge" I think it should be considered as fun.

At lot of people have missed you and if you can if not share your problems then just say "look I'm having a bad day" then we all know because we all have them.

This website has exploded over the last 6 months and I would imagine that it has been exciting yet demanding for all MLUKFC staff. A good thing grows and florishes, the weak wither and die, so be happy that this site is in full bloom!

One last thought, when you are happy that you have made your peace leave the past in the past.

Hope to see you very soon

Sin x
