Thanks Andy!
back when TMIL was released in 2006, there was a magazine about top guilt pleasures. Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman BOOH was number one ;)

There's a topic? :wtf: It's just a link to poll on another website between Meat Loaf and Garth Brooks where the only thing they have in common is...errr...nothing  Where's the topic? Seriously, it's kinda asking for a random discussion

I for one don't think that Meat Loaf and Garth Brooks are guilty pleasure's. Why feel guilty for liking either one? My guilty pleasure is someone like Savage Garden or Tina Turner :D

Nothing wrong with Tina Turner either really. Impressive she's still going at her age.

You're right there's absolutely nothing wrong with Tina Turner and she looks great to be 70.

Why would anyone feel guilty about listening to anything they damn well like to listen to? I listen to lots of stuff (http://www.last.fm/user/EvilNickname/library), and there's nothing there that I'd label as a 'guilty pleasure,' as I don't feel guilty about liking what I like.

i think the key word is peer pressure.
Come on, NO ONE of you would feel a little ashamed if they listened to Westlife??

There's a difference between a guilty pleasure and a shameful pleasure!
There's a difference between a guilty pleasure and a shameful pleasure!
And in the example quoted regarding Westlife, no pleasure at all.

O, well, maybe I'm just not insecure enough to be bothered by what other people feel I shouldn't listen to.

I listen to some Westlife stuff and don't feel ashamed. I'd feel ashamed listening to it and denying it.

I had this posted as a comment on my myspace page from neverland express page. Thought you would like to help ML get ahead of the Backstreet Boys, at this moment it is ML 40% and Backstreet 60%. I don't know if this has been posted or not, but do you really want to see Backstreet boys beat out ml????
Guilty Pleasures, Round Two: Meat Loaf (5) vs. Backstreet Boys (4)
Which guilty pleasure do you prefer?

I'm not sure on this one.
I can't really say Meat is a guilty pleasure.
I'm quite comfortable liking Meat Loaf.
That said, I can't have Backstreet Boys beating Meat (ooh matron  ) in any poll, so i've voted

Meat has gained 7% today, he was only 33 yesterday and now 40. I hope his score will go on raising.
Does someone know when the secound round will end?
Florence
That's good that Meat has gained a few more votes, I don't want him to lose to the Backstreet Boys either. And I agree he's not a guilty pleasure, I'm not ashamed to admit to loving Meat and put that as part of my comments.

Maybe not, that's the problem. No matter how serious this contest can be, enabling Meat to win would give him more exposure. And that's the important point, considering that he will soon release a new album.
I guess that's the reason why Meat himself posted the news on his Twitter Page.

I don't see why Meat should win this at all. It sounds like a negative thing to me "guilty pleasure". I wouldn't want to win this if I was a famous rock star (at one point).

It'll give him no exposure whatsoever, it's a crappy poll designed to keep the oddballs off the streets and voting for their favourite artist because they have nothing better to do. Granted it's harmless enough, but lets not kid ourselves that it'll actually garner any additional exposure.
As AndrewG rightfully pointed out, being classed as the most 'guilty pleasure' seems rather negative than positive, as it's something you shouldn't do.

 Well, first you say people are taking this seriously, then you seem to seriously consider the implication that Meat winning a gulty pleasure poll would be a bad thing :lmao:
If Meat comes first, second, third, or three frikkin hundreth it's not going to change things for better or worse.
Or perhaps I just don't care enough?
