you still not on facebook?? go with the times mr young!!
I saw a twitter post before I saw the news here. However, that being said...the new design of meatloaf.net is absolutely amazing! Everything looks great! It is what it should have been from the start! Great job to the team who designed the updated site.
It is what it should have been from the start!Agreed. But we haven't been idle either ... :flutter:

Aye, and who's twitter feed was it? ;)
I agree .Net is looking good so far.

I notice that its wearing a "Powered by Live Nation" banner, Hopefully if they are now taking care of it the site will once again become worthy of being associated with Meat rather than the joke it became with it being little more than a forum for arguments
It'd be reassuring if they could manage to consistently spell Meat Loaf correctly.

I guess the site is still in the making, but the link on "Powered by Live Nation Merchandise.", www .livenationmerchandice. com, is spelled with a c instead of s, so it does not work.
The mailing list signup does not function either.
I managed to use the mailing list sign up fine

I managed to use the mailing list sign up fine
I was not able to sign up, but I tried with another browser (Firefox) now, and then it worked... So the sites functionality is a bit buggy... ;)
When using Internet Explorer (ver 7) the site redirects me here (http://media.meatloaf.net/non_secure/error_page/error-guest.html), and presents this error:
File Not Found
You may be trying to reach a file from an old URL. Please use the Navigation above to find the content on the new site.

My choice of words wasn't probably the best as I was simply trying to drop a subtle hint that this site will undergo changes in the near future. See? I just did it again. :flutter:
I joined the mailing list with no probs.

Maybe there won´t be any fanclub?
I certainly hope so....
Live Nation Merchandise run fanclub sites for people like David Bowie, Sting, Mariah Carey, Rolling Stones and Genesis. Some have a full site with members' forums, sound/video clips, photos .. some just merchandise .. But they do seem to offer when they run a site for an artist a membership Fast Pass for fans with pre-sale tickets for fanclub members, and for some artists M&G packages .. so we wait to see the extent of their offering for Meat .. Live Nation of course merged with Ticketmaster the other year ;)

thanks for that Caryl, has anybody any idea when the new albums out or when the tour will be? Dont wanna sound desperate - but i am!!! lol

Isn't that merger still being investigated by the various monopolies commissions? The merger certainly isn't good news for fans, and certainly some of Ticketmaster's practises of late are highly dubious ... claiming shows are sold out within seconds of going on sale and redirecting fans to GetMeIn, Ticketmasters own scalping site with tickets at vastly inflated prices.

Sorry Andy, meant to say couple of months ago .. (I think it was beginning of December?) So the UK have given the go ahead, and US shareholders approved the two companies' merger, although it still awaits approval by U.S. anti-trust authorities there.
I have no fondness for TM's practices either .. particularly their decision a couple of tours ago to refuse to sell VIP packages for US concerts to non-US residents .. one reason I was glad Meat moved to another ticket provider. However they seem to be the devil we have to deal with
However, Live Nation are hooking up with TM, and I meant I thought it highly unlikely that there wouldn't be fan ticketing offered through the new site, given it's being run by a subsidiary of Live Nation and as far as I can see for artists who are touring the fan pass for pre-sale tickets I referred to is offered.
Meat does have a track record of stepping in on behalf of his fans over ticketing, so I think he'll have arrangements in place and will intervene if they don't work.

Holy lack of observation, Penguin! ;)
Great to see they are finally doing something with the website!!!
Now that the promo for the new album has started, I wonder why there haven't been further changes / updates to the page yet. It's currently nothing but a bridge to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and a merchandise store. The only place you get up-to-date info from is Twitter / his YT channel.

it's a little bit ... well it isn't what i expect from a website of a musician - just getting a link to youtube and these other sites.

Do you have Ticketmaster auctions as well? That is a MAJOR rip off...total scalping...

I just noticed that Universal's German Meat Loaf page (www.meatloaf.de) is more up-to-date than *.net. :? It provides some interesting info regarding the content of the album and the story it tells.

well lots of you prob won't like this...I'm disappointed in Meat....no pun attended to this website....
1.Meat is doing is sales pinch here instead of on his own site...
2.he has a bloody website why doesn't he open it..???
just my own 2 cents.....
I think meats management should let us take over the site and the store...
look at the fantastic work we're doing with
Manic Street Preachers
Moby
Kasabian
Gary Numan
and many many more!
Meat's extremely busy right now. Maybe they're waiting for Meat's final approval before it goes live :??:
I'm very thankful that he's still taking the time to do his Twitter updates and post on here when he can

May have been Meat's site but he didn't run it, it was run by a company which so called specialised in it.
My own opinion was that the site did nothing to enhance Meat as an artist and the majority of members were only there for the ticket presales.
There's another artist which runs their own website but the forum part is run by someone else, you're directed there through a link, this allows them to do their own sales stuff/info etc whilst trusting that the forum is in safe hands. Whatever Meat decides to do I'd like this, MLUKFC, to be the forum, well run and respected with a proven history.

You're right...I've seen both websites run by "specializing in this stuff" companies and just friends/fans...and friends/fans websites win hands down...there is no comparison whatsoever...
And I have a problem believing that any different hired gun company will do any better than it is created here by R., and run by all admins/mods...
Meat's chosen this company to run his official website and I don't intend to comment on it before I see what it will be like, although should it have a forum I hope it will be better managed than the previous one. It does say that the new website is coming, and Meat has posted a message on it:
We're still hopping all over the world. We've done Europe, we're going to Australia… who knows where we'll pop up next. Posters are going up, pre-orders are already available. Keep up with me on Twitter and if I haven't seen you already, I'll be in a town near you soon. To all, Hang Cool Teddy Bear…"
— Meat
So I'll hang cool, respect his choices and decisions, and see what they come up with :)

A blog which Meat clearly could do himself, YouTube vids like he's been doing, Twitter, a merch store, what more would you need?
