I'd love to hear him try another Tom Waits song. Meat's recording of Martha is one of my favourite things he's ever done.
I read an article in a magazine a few years ago where he said he'd do Total Eclipse Of The Heart one day, I'd love to hear him sing that.

Always by bon jovi or what baout now by west life
I'd love to hear him try another Tom Waits song.
Me too, preferable another song from the Closing Time album. I would also like to hear him sing another Warren Zevon song - Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, Werewolves of London or Boom Boom Mancini.

Other than that I think Maria by Blondie would be a good one to do.

I'm sure Meat has also said in interviews that he would never do Total Eclipse as he considers it Bonnie's song.

Meat Loaf sung a version of River Deep Mountain High and it was very good but not a studio quality recording, I would like to see this re-vamped and on a future album

Which reminds me ... Patti did an awesome version of TFAWIYTB - would be great if she got a chance to do that one during a Meat concert. Would give him time for some beer/rest/oxygen ;-)

Same here, I loved Meat singing that on the last tour, it would be great if he recorded it, even as a b side to one of the singles.

I vote for "Calling Dr. Love." Meat's good with the verses, and the band (especially Patti) can help with the main part of the chorus.

There's a song on Halestorm's album called "Better Sorry Than safe" which i think he could do a great version of, by bringing it down a little bit to suit a male vocal.

Making The Perfect Man by Chris De Burgh (sounds like a Meat Loaf tribute track in a way anyway).

ooh yes - as a duet with Bonnie Tyler!??!:cool:
Loads of the Big O's stuff might work.
like... You Got It
Or how about "You're Not Alone Any More" by the Travelling Wilburys?
Think we had this thread somewhere before...
Ah...so many new songs to cover now...
Adam Lambert has a unique song on his album...it's "Soaked" I believe by Muse...that I would have loved to hear from Meat...
And once again...Leonard Cohen...Hallelujah...yeah, it's been done bezillion times...I just think that Meat can make it remarkably unique...
Thought for a moment of Lady Gagas "Speechless"...but that will need shuffling of the lyrics...obviously girl-ish song...but a good one as well...
Oh yeah....and Tainted Love...heard it from Duke Special and would LOVE to hear Meat's version...

Forget it...it was ridiculous first time around...

Walked away to give this one another thought...I hear you...but it's a bit dated...will take a miracle to make this current...

Indeed not. But I've just had a little thought. Although I would love Meat's versions of all these songs, I think I would much prefer it if he keeps on releasing new material.

We all would like that...I think it is easier though to do new songs...but it is a true art to make something totally new and fresh from something old...in any event...everything old is new again...

Saw them at Oxygen 2004 and they really did bore me to tears, the confetti light show thing at the end was the highlight for me as it meant the show was just about over.
To me they come across as a poor man's radiohead, and I do like radiohead, hey it's opinion everyone has one.
You Make Me Real by the Doors would be a great one for Meat to do...or maybe Moonlight Drive
... Sir Elton's Tiny Dancer ...
since Muse are the most boring band I've ever seen live I hope he's totally turned the song around
I believe it's on youtube...it's very big and very theatrical song...Adam IMO made a candy out of it...Meat can make it...well...Meaty???
Oh and I don't believe Muse actually performed...I think they have given it to Adam...

Wait until the chorus, and you'll totally get it!

Wouldn't it be cool if Meat recorded You Didn't Break, with a very different arrangement, and Steve Vai played guitar on it.
