View Full Version : More 'Best Of' live discs?

Here's a slightly different twist on the usual game of going round and round in circles. If the 'best of Case de Carne' bonus disc does well and Meat releases more of them, then what would you put on a 'Best Of Three Bats' disc? Remember you only have 74 minutes to play with.

Easy: all songs that aren't on the 3 Bats DVD (which I think is just Land of the Pig, I think), padded out with songs of which there aren't a gazillion versions already (i.e., Objects, the new tracks)

I was thinking something like:

All Revved Up
Paradise
I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us
Anything For Love
Objects
The Monster Is Loose
In The Land Of The Pig
Blind As A Bat
It's All Coming Back
Bat Out Of Hell

The short AFL and Aspen on IACBTMN

Sorry but I think that Meat had very few great vocal performances on the BAT 3 tour. I think it would be far better to hear some of his other tours from the eighties and nineties.
He sounds so much better now, so a cd of his upcoming tour would be great.

So would I. I was thinking of working backwards!

I'd love to hear an official release of some of the Neighborhood tour.

That's insane. Any 2005 release should include '(It Hurts) Only When I Feel' (parenteses subject to change), as that was much, much better than what Break It became.

from the parts i heard, it didn't sound great, I only base that on Youtube from footage of a dublin concert though.

I dunno I thought Break it was one of the stronger songs on Bat III

That's Warioloaf! Although in seriousness wouldn't there be legal reasons why OWIF couldn't be released? Same as why it wasn't on Bat 3?

There probably are. But I don't care, if such a disc would be released, it should be on it. While I like the Mike Vogel/Wuthering Heights/original version of Break It, Meat's stand alone version just doesn't do it for me. Only When It Feels on the other hand... that rocked my world.

In that case I'll see Wario's paltry effort and raise him:

Warrior
Whore
Black Betty
DeadRinger For Love
Out Of The Frying Pan
Only When I Feel
All Revved Up
Paradise By The Dashboard Light
Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad
I'd Do Anything For Love
Bat Out Of Hell

I take revved up back.

Teh 2005 arrangement omitted that fimiliar opening riff and it hasnt returned since :(

And stop with the Paradise. He obviously eliminated it on this best of and would probably omit again :D

What would you have instead? Lemon, Took The Words or Mercury?

The 3 Bats Live cd was enough for me from that particular tour.
I'd enjoy hearing a cd from the WTTN tour and especially from the Very Best Of tour.

Took the Words on a steaming gun.

Took teh words > lemon> paradise > lemon

I'd like to actually see a remastered live at Wembley. It only runs 68 give or take minutes. I think you could make a very respectible cd set by making it a 2 disk Special Eddition.

Disk 1:

Execution Day ** Edited Out :(
BBIS
Masculine
RRM
Took The words
DRFL ** Edited Out :(
Burning Down ** Edited Out :(
MATLAF
Disk 2:

Special Girl ** Edited Out :(
Louie Louie / Revved Up ** Edited Out :(
Modern Girl
Paradise
Two out Of Three
BOOH
The Rock medley

Lol.

Also, could someone explain to my why it's a bad thing Special Girl was edited out of Live (at Wembley)? I mean, that song's nothing special.

I personally think Special Girl is a pretty good track and I would love a live version in my collection.

Was Special Girl even done at Wembley? It wasn't performed on every show.

Dunno just put it just in case it was. I know burning down was performed every night (or most).

Special Girl i think was like Murder and RAW and was performed once.

But The Live arrangement is SO GOOD. the Studio version sucks

Hence Meat's dislike for BBIS and what Frank Farian did to it after they'd finsished recording it.
