Since ML will soon be concentrating more on his film work, I thought it might be fun to take a poll about what kind of roles you would enjoy seeing Meat play. True, I think most of us are glad to watch Meat in most any role, but either way it will be interesting to see what the results are. Also please add comments if I have left out a genre or type of role.

Erm....did I scr*w something up here? It doesn't look like the poll is open for votes. Any help anyone?
Sherrie
Well it's open for votes!
I got the poll question, haven't voted yet, gonna think on it a while....
Mhh, I think it's a great question you asked here sherrie87.
Well, I'll be back to vote later,

how about a gangster movie, meat playing the head don!
sherrie87

Yes, Meat would make a hella good gangster- maybe more Don Corleone than Al Capone, but either would be a thrill to watch!

I would bet a million that if we looked at these votes we would see them split along gender lines. I bet the gals all voted for the humorous romantic leading man, while the guys went for the action and villian options. Girls, we want to see Meat in a chick flick, am I right?

Hi Sherrie,
Great topic this is. Have also voted, and yes, the humorous/romantic-option. He is a 'great' villian but we have watched him 'die' so many times, would be nice to see him in this type of role.
Does this mean I 'want to see Meat in a chick flick'???
No idea what that means!!! :!:
Great day to you,

Sorry Mariella, maybe "chick flick" is an American expression. Basically, it's a term (generally used by men) to describe a movie that has humor, romance and intelligence and yet lacks guns and car chases. It's a bit of a put down by men about movies that don't interest them, but it is also a phrase used by women to mean a good movie of special interest to women. Examples of chick flicks- Sleepless in Seattle, Two Weeks Notice, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, etc. Almost anything with Hugh Grant, Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan etc. Does that make sense now?

Thank you so much for explaining, Sherrie.
I was a little 'worried' it might be something 'with not too many clothes'.
Yes, I really would like to see Meat in a chick flick!!

Hi, friends! Good topic, Sherrie! Thanks.
You know, I voted for the Romantic leading man category. But then, I kept thinking about this and have decided that Meat would also make a great action/adventure hero, as well!
I keep seeing him in the video for "I'd Lie for You," and saying to myself, "Yeah, he'd be really good in that kind of role!"
Then, I think about him in those 40s-style clothes on the CHSIB album and hummmm.......gangster? Yup, he could do that!
Really TOUGH choice, Sherrie!!
I think, for a while, though, I'd probably pick any good guy character who doesn't die in the film!!!!!

Love to all,
MB

Hmmm interesting... I voted action though... how 'bout a baddie (or any action guy) that doesn't die?
MBrevard, yeah the gangster thing sounds good.

Hi, Jen! I don't know if I can see him in a Godfather-type film. But instead, I keep picturing him in some remake of a 40s style movie. What do you think??
You know, after I posted, I went back to the photos on the new CD!! Yesssss, indeed!!! Love that style clothes on him!! Especially that one shot with the hat tilted slightly over his face and his small grin...Do you know the one I'm talking about?? LOVE that shot!! :bunny:
Wish we had a way of knowing about the gender vote here! Hey, maybe we need another poll, Sherrie.
Love,

ps. Wait a minute. Doesn't Meat play some kind of 'gangster' in his new film "Hole In One"?? I forgot about that one. Anyone know when that's going to be released??
He didn't sound like a very nice character, though, if memory serves. But we may just get our wish, Jen. :) AND it's a leading role! Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Hi MB, yeah the shots on the CD are... brilliant, so many great shots, a real bonus that I wasn't expecting.
Only seen about 5 minutes of the Godfather, so don't know about that, but the 40's style... I can see that.
Haven't heard much about his new film, so need to wait and see. Not all the good characters are nice characters, but it is a leading role so that is definitley a good thing.
Jen
I saw the film "The Quick and the Dead" on TV over the weekend and thought Meat would have been great playing the Gene Hackman role. (Not that GH was bad in it or anything)
This is a really hard poll sherrie...but very good question. I would love to see Meat in any film where he doesn't die. But I love the sound of the 40s style film, loving those pictures. I also like the romantic lead, can see it now...very hard choice!
I'd love to see Meat appear in an X-rated film, no just kidding. He'd be good at action, just has to choose better scripts, nothing involving Patrick Swayzee and Randy Travis.

Love the 40s idea. It suits him so well!
I voted for a bad guy. I reckon he's good at it and besides the bad guys are always the most interesting characters.
And they don't always have to die.
Any role which is a good part in a good movie, which Meat feels is worthwhile and he can get his teeth into, and which stretches him and showcases his solid talent as an actor.
But I know he'd love to play Henry VIII .. and I'd love to see him in that role :) Great shame the Babe Ruth movie fell through too. I think Focus showed what a fine actor he is, and I'd like to see him get more roles that do that. Also light comedy .. he has a great touch with that. And although they make few musicals now, I can just see him in the lead role in Kiss Me Kate!
... i go with romantic lead... with a leading lady...close in age to his own..like i am... :-) ...
and a bit of humor ..yes...
and some dancing....
some very slowwwwww.... dancing involved....
tink...XO
don't know what to vote for. Think Meat is great in Catch a Yeti, Black Dog, Fight Club, RHPS and that stuff.
So don't really know. Think he must do different roles in different movies.
Maybe a gangster / maffia movie hehehe... he will be the good godfather

I agree- I think Meat would be a chilling, absolutely terrifying godfather/mafia boss! I can see it now....

I think a skitzophenic *not sure on the spelling* would suit him fine.. that way he can show how versatile he is.

SVZ,
That is a great idea! I would love to see ML in that kind of a showcase role. In a sense, he did it in "Blacktop"- going from (the appearance of, anyway) sweet, shy and helpful at the beginning to murderous and completely nuts by the end. Very cool movie.

It's very cool :)) And yes he's a main character ... which was very nice for a change! I read someplace that he wants to start using Michael Lee Aday for his film credits :)

Schizophrenic characters? Why not. He was great in Black Top.. But I think that he could do a few "hero" roles too. Only bacause that peaople might start thinking that he is himself a little bit crazy, but we no the truth that he is the nicest person that you can find. :D

You're absolutely right :) I'd love to see him do more roles like he did in Trapped or Everything That Rises :))

I've got the PERFEKT role for Meat!
X-Men2 made it pretty obvious that X3 will be the Phoenix Saga movie. They canNOT do it without including the Hellfire Club.
Meat is a "dead ringer" for Sebastion Shaw, the Hellfire Club's Black King and leader! just add sideburns!
I also see the Club as Having John Goodman play Harry Leland, the White King. My ideal story has them recruiting Juggernaut Cain Marko (Prof.X/P.Stewart's step-brother) into their group. Cain is played by WWF/E star Paul "Big Show" Wight.
Hey, at least Meat will get a chance to play opposite Halle Berry, Rebecca R-S, and Famke! (who WOULDN'T want to do this?!) And Patrick (we all know what a Trekkie Meat is!) and Sir Ian! And Hugh and Alan C and.....
Are you listening, Bryan Singer?????
Remember, all story/casting credit goes to me,

Meat was going to be in a Babe Ruth movie? I know the "The Babe" script was floating around for a while before Goodman became a "known" actor, but I never heard anything before about Meat being even remotely attached to it. I DO know John STILL wants a "do over" on it, but realizes it ain't going to happen.
Henry VIII- Isn't that the one with Falstaff?? Goodman covered that one too. quite well, I heard. Almost as good as his defining stage role of 'Pap Finn' in "Big River", based on Huckleberry Finn.

A lot of people have said Meat would be good in a godfather type movie and I agree there, but I'd love to see anything with Meat playing star role, so you get to seee plenty of him in it!

I think Meat Loaf should play the villian in the next James Bond movie. I could just imagine him stroking a big white cat and saying something like : "I've been expecting you Mr. Bond. You didn't exactly get here like a Bat out of Hell did you?"
I think in general Meat Loaf indeed deserves to play much bigger roles. Maybe something in the next Indiana Jones movie also. That would be excellent.
Meat Loaf in a movie with Jackie Chan would be great fun to
