This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!
Couldn't Have Said It Better (9)
Well, I've agreed the new songs for 1st of June! Here them!
I think the title song is the best on the album. You know I'm not reconciled with the new album but I have to say you find there some very good songs. And it's that! I think it's better than I'd Lie For You. It's rocker! I love Patti in this song. She's great! Her voice sometimes more powerfuly than Meat's voice in this song.
My score: 9
Average: 9.16 (219.9/24)
I hope we can already give good votes about new songs and it won't be unrealistic...
I have to agree that this song is the beste from this album. It really rocks. Great music and lyrics.
My score: 8/9

It's the longest and also the best song on the CHSIB album. A typical gigantic Meat Loaf ballad. It has a bit of the "I'd Lie For You" style. Very superb!
10/10

Here we go, don't think this is THE best song on the album. But I just love this album.
Great song, lyrics are incredible. LOVE the beginning! The song is very powerful and both Meat and Patti sing it with so much passion.
9,5/10
Mariella
Great lyrics, great music and sung brilliantly by both Meat and Patti
Love it!
9.9/10
I like this song a lot, lyrics are great, sung beautifully. I think Patti sings better every time around.
9.5/10

The first time I heard this song I thought it was sensational. Does not quite hit me like that now after hearing it countless times but still an excellent song and performance by both Meat and Patti. Certainly one of the best tracks on the album
I give it 9 out of 10

I too was absolutely knocked out when I first heard this song. I love the lyrics, Meat's vocals are great, Patti is stunning. (When do we get a Patti solo album? I'd be first in line to buy it!) The video is great, it makes me love the song even more. My favorite part is the "angels" lines and the "silence is gold" line. I could listen to this song forever!

Brilliant, magic, abfab. Just love this song. So hard to choose a favorite on the CD but this would be one of mine (along with oh about 10 others!) (will say when the relevant song comes up which one I don't like!).
This is a "typical" Meat song in my opinion. From the first listen it felt familiar - but new.
My favorite line is when Patti sings "you finish me off when you finish my thoughts the way you do". Really great song writing (and singing too).
9.5/10
At last we can vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hafta say, i do like this song, but not as much as others on CHSIB. The lyrics are good, Meat and Patti are both superb BUT for me it's definately not the best on the album by half.
7/10
to me it is not the best by far. The best part is the first part till the chorus starts.
I think it was wrong to choose this as a first single. it is so typical meat loaf song that it is wrong due to that fact. People think that it sounds like the other stuff. 8/10

I also thought that this was the best song on the album when I first got it, but now I like a couple of others even more. (My opinion of CHSIB didn't diminish, I simply found things in the other songs that were even more enjoyable to me.) That's a sure sign of a truly excellent collection of songs!

Great songs, very powerfull: I like it more and more.
The lyrics are good, but I feel the lyrics and music doesn't seem to fit as good as the do in other songs, that's just my feeling
I give it an 8!

This song is one of those songs which tend to grow on you, little by little. On the first few listens I wan't really impressed with it, but the more I hear it, the more I like it.
Musically it's very Steinmanesque, with a big theatrical feel. Beautiful featured vocals by Patti, and 'classic' backing vocals (high pitched male vocals). And I really like the "Just say nothing / don't say a word / silence is gold / don't say a word" break halfway.... and the way it builds up after that.
This song is deffiniatly one of the better songs on the album, and a title track then "Testify" would have been.

Hell yeah i love this one, it gets a 10/10 from me, it relly rocks my socks off everytime i listen to it.

I love this song too, though my neighbours have told me they are sick of hearing it!
This is a great song. It has the classic sound of Meat, with some new bits thrown in, like the amazing sub melodies twisting around, and a great guitar solo.
One of the best on the album, and Patti sounds absolutely AMAZING!

I have to say that for me this is definitely the best song on the album, closely followed by Did I Say That, and Man of Steel.
This is because these are Meat Loaf songs, and no other artist does (or can do!) songs like these at the moment.
The rest of the album has some good songs, like Testify, Do It!, and Tear Me Down, but some of the others are too boy band for my liking.
Anyway, this song really rocks. The lyrics are great, and the music is awesome. Meat sings it really well, and Patti is stunning (she outsings him imho :? ).
The only slight let down is the ending, which just repeats the chorus over and over - I think an ending more like Both Of Us is always best!
Anyway, the best non-Steinman song ever, and fully a 10/10 score!

I love it! 10/10!
I have only heard this song once, live. It blew me away. Made me want the album right then and there. Still waiting for the album in the States.
9/10. I reserve the right to adjust this rating after I hear the studio version.
Now that I've had the US release for about a month I can say this is a 10/10
This song is easily as good as anything Meat has done in the past. An absolutly wonderful studio recording.
VocalsX2 5\5 + 5\5 =10. Their chemistry in the song an 11\10.
The music all around, 10\10
The mood the song gives off is a 10\10, would love to see it live,
overall, its an 11.5\10
I did this on my friends karaoke with him last week! I say "did this" because the word "singing" doesn't really do it justice!

The first time I heard it, I picked it on a jukebox!
I was looking for something... and I got the shivers when I saw the words "Meat Loaf"!!!
I liked it straight away.
I like how it is musically built and sung but it's not one of my favorites.
I do love the live version with this amazing intro with the "drums from heaven" (quoting Michael Marxen)! just love it live!
7/10 on the album
10/10 live!

Really really good,
that was the song where I turned from someone who thinks Meat´s music is good to a real fan.
Especially like the part where he´s trying to say something and is interrupted by patti and then they´re singing together with so much power!
IMO better than DIST

Kind of a Anything for love meets i'd lie for you meets what about love (ok the last one came after this but still)
It's good, the video could've been better but you can't have it all.
It's an underrated album, with Did I Say That being one of the best songs meat has ever done

It's okay, definately not a Bat song. It's really good live but that's just testament to how good Meat is live.

Forever Young isn't longer than Couldn't Have Said it Better
Forever Young is approximately 5:04 in length. The only reason it might appear longer is because there's a couple of minutes of silence before Mercury Blues (the hidden track) starts up, and this then brings the track length to a total of 10:51. Couldn't Have Said it better is 7:07
I like this song. One of my favourite non-Steinman songs.

And I hate her for it because she was there when it was recorded, yes she was there for the concert AND called me on her mobile when Meat did For Crying Out Loud, I'm still in therapy.

I get the same grief Emma when I mention that I saw meat sing part of FCOL in March 1999 at Wembley ...
Having said that CHSIB is a great song and well worth a
9/10
(not quite up to the 10/10 for FCOL which I saw at Wembley, but close)
were there any songs he did there that wasn't on the dvd or cds?
No not on the night i was there!! Most of it is the 2nd night(i was there on the 1st night) The 1st night Meat is wearing his ring on his left hand and the 2nd night on his right!! I thought he'd got married thats why i noticed!!
Someone posted about the CHSIB album; as close to Bat as you can get....
This song is on that list too for me.... 9/10
He is married, I thought
Last i heard he had split with his wife Deborah and had met a lady whose name i should know and they are engaged

I thought it was Leslie he'd split from, and he was engaged to Doborah!? :??:
I don't know or care any more...
We have to go back on topic people. Not only for that, but also because of the direction this thread is going....
As far as we know facts are like Son Of Meat Loaf mentions them and that's it; it is a subject that is a private matter. So none of our business ;)
