Sad news just in, Dio just lost his fight with stomach cancer. After a distateful rumour was put to bed earlier today, his wife and manager has just confirmed that it is, in fact, now the case.

One of the great metal singers of our time.

That is really sad news. It had been said he was winning the fight.

I just started listening to Heaven and Hell again today, thinking about how much of a fighter he must have been to be winning it at his age.

:(

It's real. There was a rumour going around dismissed as false, but it was later confirmed by his wife/manager.

It's so weird, I met him briefly just before Christmas and he was so alive.

Such a shame, the guy was a true legend of metal. I have all his albums as both DIO and his various collaborations.

Sad news indeed, I feel like every time anyone who lived their life in the name of rock n' roll died, we lost one of our own. His legacy is sealed and he won't be forgotten.

RIP Ronnie, a true rock and roll legend! I was so looking forward to seeing Heaven and Hell at High Voltage, but it was bnot meant to be in this world. Thoughts to his family.

"Holy Diver" is an epic album. It's a real shame. He was a great rocker.

Another rock hero gone... :( I refused to believe it at first when I heard about his death. Sad... He was a great singer, his music is immortal.

To be honest I had never heard any of his music, only Kikapoo, and I thought he sounded great on that, RIP.

I will have to go youtubing now.
