Maybe it's due to the sound quality of the video but in the end it sounds like a Meat Loaf ballad done in the style of Shakin' Stevens, LOL.

my honest advice: take singing lessons.

you seem to enjoy performing very much, if you want to improve, do it. You'll have much fmore fun if you actually sing anything resembling the song. As of now, you didnt hit a single note...

mr RJ, do you think consider yourself to be a better singer than he?

RadioMaster

To me, it seems in tune and in time, and you are certainly getting in character! You also don't attempt to exactly replicate Meat's performance, and sing it your way, which is great.

For me however, the performance is a little... idiosyncratic... a little too OTT... for mass consumption perhaps. But it's one helluva distinctive and unique style, and I certainly wouldn't say "go bland". Just maybe reign it in a little tiddly bit.

And I agree with RadioMaster about lessons to the extent that volume control techniques may be beneficial - nothing wrong with the core singing, just a little tweaking I think.

PS I've tried to be helpful as I like singing myself, but I haven't had lessons and don't know the technical side, so my advice could well be pants. Or not.

I thought your performance was entertaining Chris! You certainly went down well there. :-D

Have to say though I missed the fast moving ceiling fan just above your head from your home movies. Maybe you could wear it as a hat? A propellor hat perhaps?

OK, Chrissie...honest opinion...

You do have voice...I think RJ said to take singing lessons...you should probably do that...do you sing anything else besides Meat? You should try if not...

The last but not the least...this year auditions for American Idol (don't know when - look it up on the website)...are in Jersey City...that's a hop and a skip from you...why don't you do that while you're young and you have time to actually advance? Worth a try in my opinion...
