His songs were among the first music I attentively listened to when I was kid. It was Love Buys Love, a ballad, that caught my attention, as far as I remember. Great singer.

I was going to post a thread when I found this out Sunday morning but didn't think anyone would really have heard of him here. I was mistaken! ;-)

Solomon died shortly after getting of his flight to Amsterdam as he was going to perform with the Dutch band De Dijk (I'm a big fan of them) this evening at The Paradiso club.

After appearing with the band as a special guest once before they did a song together on De Dijk's recent studio album Brussel (a half Dutch/English song) and even more recently they made a full compilation album together with famous De Dijk songs all translated into English and sung by Solomon called "Hold on Tight", which they were going to promote and play songs off with a one off show tonight.

De Dijk announced they are going ahead with the show this evening after talking to Burke's family as they think that's what Solomon would have wanted.

Here they are together performing at De Dijk's show on 7/7/2007 at the Heineken Music Hall. Ashame I wasn't at that show. I did catch De Dijk on that tour though and they were fab.

Solomon has left quite a legacy behind and not just musically. He has 21 children and 90 grand children! :shock:
