it wont. I got terminated because of the Netherlands 1989 soundboard footage. If he just asked me to take it down I would have.

If the newer stuff was tied to possible commercial release I could see that. I never got to see the HCTB film, but otherwise I have viewed the youtubes as good publicity for the tour and the CD. Meat himself had mentioned that LOTO had gained some momentum. To me it sounds better live.
As for the stuff that is over 20 years old, I have no idea what harm that was causing, but it seems someone did.

That sucks :( I dont' agree with that at all...you must have had hundreds of videos back on there now....still...i would have avoided putting the hctb proshots on your youtube channel
:) I wanna thank you for all of the awesome videos you've put up on that channel, they've made my life awesome many times when I have logged into youtube and gotten to view a concert that I never thought I'd get to hear again, cheers dude

I understood that Youtube automatically terminate an account on removing a third video. The "Three strikes and you're out" rule. It's a risk you take with them surely, and an assumption that Meat himself requested their removal. It might have been someone working on his behalf who picked up on them, and who would perhaps be unlikely to write to you personally and ask for their removal.

What makes no sense is that Wario had uploaded many excellent examples of Meat's work. Yet Meat struggling about like a sack of shite on the 3 Bats Tour that was recently uploaded is still there, as is the account of the person doing it.
Good videos, I enjoyed watching them and it was nice to see something new rather than shakey mobile phone recordings. In saying that, I'm not sure where in the tour these dates fell (and I'm really not seeking it out!) but they really didn't convey any of the energy and feeling that this tour had. The beginning of Rock and Roll Dreams was great but in this vid you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a bit slow and lifeless :?
Great vids all the same, just a reminder of how bloody good the live version was!

It's a shame your channel has been taken down I really enjoyed watching some of those videos.
I thought the pro-shot video of Living On The Outside was very good and could have been a great promotion tool for the song as I know several people who buy music after seeing the songs on YouTube.
I hope that there is going to be some kind of official release from the tour because if not, fans are going to turn to places like YouTube to see such fantastic performances.

You are correct, very first show of the tour from Gilford, New Hampshire.

I doubt it would have not one through Meat. Usually he would warn before striking accounts.

I don't blame you and I think this is absolutely atrocious to happen to probably the biggest Meat Loaf YouTube content provider out there. I'm sorry my friend, you didn't deserve that, none of the fans who use YouTube did.
I know we joke a lot around here but Wario's YouTube channel is something that was sacred, no discussion.

The three strikes thing in this case didn't work for Wario as he got all 3 strikes in one go, that's not really correct. You show no regret about this, I find that quite sad really. :-(

Don't be so sure of that. Red Pony had flagged a cover I had up there and some daft American company, who I think don't hold any form of copyright on Meat's songs flagged another.
YouTube normally can't be arsed looking into things. If you have a company you can get pretty much anything taken of. In that sense YouTube is a bit useless and it's sad to see accounts gone over such issues. Strikes never get removed don't forget.
Certainly won't EVER consider putting Meat Loaf related content on YouTube again, even if it is just a cover, tribute or dedication.
Perhaps he wants it this way. I personally find it bullish behaviour certainly when it comes to a few innocent videos here and there which have obviously just been placed on there out of pure love for the man's work.
The pro shot stuff I don't care about so much missing, I know where those can be stuck!!!

A simple search of youtube for "Bat Out Of Hell Covers" turns up LOADS of crappy covers and karaoke versions of people butchering the songs.....Why are these allowed to be up but good videos like warios and good covers are removed >.>

The covers I had up there by a semi-pro tribute band had gained tens of thousands of views and hence that was probably the reason why they were noticed so much.
It's insane to remove the good stuff. I also don't understand the logic in removing things like a live song from the 80s for example which will probably never get performed again probably.
Is it REALLY better that this stuff is locked away in a vault somewhere where nobody can see it?
Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate the logic in the pro shot stuff being gone if that was put up there without Meat's consent. But I'm not so sure what the recording contract would have said. That is a legit video recording company and perhaps the YouTube uploads were actually something they were legally allowed to do. Who knows.
I'm sorry Warioloaf :(
I disagree Andrew. I don't think it is bullish behavior ... they were bootlegg videos of Meat and IMO if he didn't want them on there, he had every right to have them taken down, no questions asked.

I couldn't agree more. I really enjoyed your videos. Such a shame to delete all 300+ (?) videos for the sake of 3 which caused someone, somewhere, some offence.

I agree, without knowing for certain who pulled them I think they were over-zealous. If it was something for a planned dvd or something I understand that, but stuff that only die-hard fans would watch is something else. I'm sure there will be a "holier than thou" lecture, but I too think it makes Meat look bad to loyal fans no matter who "Red Pony" is, him or a rep.
my YT account was deleted maybe a year ago without any warning even though they stated that i had warnings but i hadn't anyway, it works that way unfortunately
you should expect to it anytime, if you don't have rights for the material that you use, it's that simple, the term&conditions are pretty clear about it, so there shouldn't be any suprises when it happens
and you think Meat should warn you or ask you take down those videos? well he could but you shouldn't put them up at the first time because you hadn't the rights, you know
i'm sad that it happened to you because i love to watch your videos but this is the way YT works......
The three strikes thing in this case didn't work for Wario as he got all 3 strikes in one go, that's not really correct.
As I understand it, it is based on 3 requests, not three separate occasions. I have seen people complaining that they had their ac~~~~s terminated when 3 videos were removed at the same time.
You show no regret about this, I find that quite sad really. :-(
Meat can be a real jerk at times, honestly. Sorry, has to be said.
My stance on bootlegs is well documented here, as is my view that Meat and/or his people are perfectly entitled to request removal of any unauthorised recordings, so I think it would have been suspect for me to express regrets, and might well have prompted a comment about why I would regret the removal of things I say I don't watch.
What I find sad is that you call Meat "a jerk", when you don't know that he personally requested their removal (even Wario seems to be saying he doubts it was Meat himself who made the requests), and even if he had, he would be entitled to do so.

I agree. As Netty says, if you don't have rights for the material that you use, it's that simple, the term & conditions are pretty clear about it, so there shouldn't be any surprises when it happens, even if it doesn't happen on every occasion.

I'm sue Meat has rights to his performances and has paid to perform the songs, but I also recall all the hulla baloo over who owned rights to use "Bat" when Bat 3 rolled around. The rights to the older songs have been sold several times I'm sure. Plus they are on countless compilations and various artists cd's. In the end wouldn't Steinman be able to have a song pulled also? Yet to my knowledge he never has. Could Jim have a video of Meat singing his song pulled?

If it wasn't Meat himself (which in all fairness you are correct for pointing out I do not know), he should tell his reps to not do such silly things without warning and do his best to retract it, if that is at all possible at this stage. I doubt he will do this though.
Just because I am a fan of Meat Loaf doesn't mean I should agree with ALL his actions. I also don't agree with his political views for example as many will know. Doesn't mean I'm any lesser of a fan of his work. In fact I think actions such as these are self-damaging to his career more than anything, hence my problem with this.
