In case anyone cares :-), I'm doing a photographic "365" this year - a photo every day of the year. 13 down; 352 to go!
I'm uploading my efforts to blipfoto.com (http://www.blipfoto.com/daveake) which is a site just for this sort of thing.
Here's what I've done so far:

(the real ones are (almost all) in colour - this is just the way their thumbnail view works).

Great stuff.
The led torch thing is something I've seen pop up quite a bit recently. I actually bought my Panasonic digital camera specifically for that as it has an easy setting to do that stuff (starry night sky or something like that). It looks great but obviously I use my DSLR for proper photos. The stupid thing is that I was first thinking I would need to write backwards and all if I wanted to do text thus taking time to practice etc, completely forgetting I can easily mirror the photo in PhotoShop.
Good idea to do a photo each day, hope you keep it up.

I'll try and keep it up :-). Good job it's not a leap year - that could have been a step too far .
The LED thing was actually quite easy. From some of the feedback I got it seems that people have a lot of difficulty with it, but basically it's just a matter of finding out where the camera is looking and try to keep within that area and draw reasonably accurately. I'd never tried before, and I took 9 shots with improving success till I got that one.
Hopefully the weather will improve soon then I can do more landscapes (much more more style than what I've been forced into the last week or so). That said, part of the reason for doing this was to force myself to try different techniques and to widen my horizons a bit, so that's working :-)
Cool photos, Dave (nice cats, by the way). I like the captions, too. :D
my ex used to do that. its interesting
Nice start Dave, although a little heavy on the photoshop for my purist view. IMO there's a thick line between photography and photographic graphic design. Challenge yourself even more once the weather picks up to go a whole month with no blipped photoshopped results ;-)

I'm with you on that - I hardly ever do any "shopping". Been kinda forced into some of it lately though!
That said, there are probably fewer 'shopped pictures there than you think. I just went through them, and 2 are merged photos, 1 is a "colour spot" trick, and 2 have had the "near blacks" made black. Otherwise there's nothing but some cropping and/or sharpening, but not on many. Most of the shots are virginal :-)
I thought you were going to ask for a month of cake photos ;-)
A month of cake photos? Hmmm now there's an idea! We'll save that challange for later in the year ;-)
Can we challenge to a subject for a day? If so, then next time the weather's bad and Julie won't let you play out then how about a Meat Loaf inspired still life?
Really love the photos Dave, thanks for posting :))
