Arrow is a Classic Rock radio station. Once a year they have a open air Rockfestival, where all the old bands perform. This year it was Deep Purple as closing act and further more Uriah Heep, Thin Lizzy, Manfred Mann's Earthband, Status Quo, Lynrd Skynrd, Wishbone Ash, L.A. Doors, Budgie and Thin Lizzy.
For 50 euro you get over 10 hours of good Rock Performances.
Very relaxed audience, people in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's... bikers, old grey Rockers, skinheads, "regular" people, all enjoying the same kinda music, never a wrong word, everybody just dances and has fun. 20.000 people were there and not one fighting incident.
Anyway, I printed some flyers to promote Meat, but sadly enough they got taken away at the gate. I was not allowed to take the flyers on to the terrain. :(
I wore my Meat Tour 03 shirt, and many people came up to me, asking how I got the shirt and what Meat was up to these days. I was very surprised at that, but I noticed a lot of people wearing their fanshirt (ACDC, U2, Deep Purple, you name it). Well, turns out that a lot of Dutchies didn't even know there had been a promo concert in Amsterdam. Some heard CHSIB on the Radio, but a lot of them didn't even know he made a new album. They thought he was still doing movies...
Anyway: it's all lack of promo by the record company in my view. I hope things will be different when BOY will be released.
