Facebook worked for Betty White when she got on SNL, so maybe someone will take notice to this:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/We-Want-A-Hang-Cool-Tour-Concert-DVD/105016949585776

its simple: if youre on facebook here, please click the "like" button and that's it.

Will it be announced on Wiki when it's coming out?

Doubt there will be a live DVD. Maybe of the next tour, I hope so.

No offense, but is it really necessary to start a petition? how about "TAKING THE FOXSWAN APPROACH"? A Petition just makes Meat Sound like an institution, instead of a person... just a thought... {Please don't use the "Foxswan approach" PLEASE}

Have to agree on this one: I think a petition is kind of strong. Plus I'd be more interested in the NEXT tour for the NEXT album.

I agree. I'd be more interested in a tour dvd of HIAH- a 2-dvd set, one with a concert and the other a backstage documentary.

Well, I made the petition to get at least some notion fans want a Live Hang Cool DVD release.

at least I hope Meat makes a video responding to it, and may tell us if any dvds are planned. HIATB Tour or otherwise....

I Truly think that there are some better ways to draw attention to certain matters... In a supportive manner, because a petition seems a lot more aggressive...

Sorry

It is aggressive. The record company have been stiffs when it comes to meat.... they need to be pushed

Yeah, but you've got to think about how Meat is going to feel when he sees that. Maybe he does feel like this tour should be released on DVD, but if he doesn't it's kind of like ... needless pressure, man.

I think that if Meat feels the need to release the Live DVD, He would do it. With or without the record company. He has been Kicking record companies asses ever since Cleveland signed him up

Well its the record company that has the final say I beleive if a dvd is released. Its a legal contractual issue I believe.

So is this aimed at them? If so, how will it have an impact on them? Or are you just hoping a lot of those who check out Meat's FB page will see it, (in which case is it linked from there?) hit "like" and show who/what? .. Meat that fans would like to see this? Sorry, I'm just a bit at sea in terms of what we're aiming to do here, as I'm sure Meat's seen posts on here from a lot of people saying they'd like a Hang Cool DVD ..

You'll recall I'm sure that we coudn't get even 2000 fans to sign up and promise to download LAR last year, and there was a hell of a lot of effort put into that by a number of people .. Getting people to simply click "like" on something is probably easier .. but I'm still not sure to what purpose they'd be doing it?

Didn't Meat say in an earlier post he would be recording the Australian and New Zealand shows later this year? Maybe a DVD is going to be made of them.

@Carole I do recall Meat saying he'd have cameras in AU. Not sure how long ago I read that or the exact location of the post. Hopefully those plans are still a go. :)

Yeah, he confirmed that he would have cameras when they went down under, so hopefully they record all the shows and then they can choose the best show to release :-)

If there is an other Oz-related release I find that absurd, given we already have MSO and also the fact that Meat performed in what can possibly be regarded as one of the world's most famous venues recently (Wembley Arena) and we don't get that. I'm perhaps being selfish but I'd much rather see a British arena DVD next time (Wembley, Manchester, perhaps even the O2 on tour next year?) as his fan base is also more significant in the UK.

CarylB
30 Apr 2011, 13:40
As a UK fan I don't mind where he chooses to record a DVD .. I just want to see the on-stage performance captured, not that of the audience, and wouldn't find it "absurd" at all. It would also make sense to me to put one together from a number of concerts, choosing the absolute best footage from each. The only thing I would look for is to have the tour captured in some way so I can experience it again whenever I want to. Which shows and where the venues were located wouldn't matter to me in the least. I would love a commentary though, as with the MSO :)

how many Bruce shows are recorded for DVD/VHS/TV that were live in New Jersey?

I don't really think it matters. as long as we get a DVD and as long as the production company wont go lazy on us like 3 Bats Live and not even correct the most obvious faults (cough-bad for good-cough).

in fact another melbourne dvd would be awesome, since MSO is one of the greatest rock concerts ever released on DVD ... ever.

Really nowhere near as many as you'd think. More of Bruce's dvd releases have been recorded in Europe than anywhere else.

I think I fourth something....but my attention is short today :) Anyway, if it has to do with not caring where the DVD is filmed so long as it is done and released timely. That's where my vote lies. I'm not picky at all. However, the bonus commentary of the performance by Meat would be welcomed with open arms.

yeah, the commentary track was one of the best things about the MSO dvd.

I wouldn't say a petition is agressive personally; I hope we do get a DVD of this tour he was mindblowing when I saw him it'd be great to be able to relieve that as well as hearing the whole album live

maybe after 'Hell' ? If they decide to tour.. :) Totally on Meat and his team at the end of the day. But if they decide to tour, a DVD would be good than. The past couple DVDs have centered on many of the older hits. He could possibly come out with a set list that contains more newer songs. And a 'Masculine' for Wario ;)

Wario

you all joke and kid, but fact of the matter is if he did add masculine back into the set after 21 years, itd be a welcome addition in everyone's eyes.... and a bannage for me :))

'California' sounds 80's ;) But you know what, I'd stand around and here how he'd interpret it today! Masculine that is. Didn't Patti contribute to a live concert with this song. That would be amazing.

Well I for one DO care where it is filmed as it most certainly has an influence on how good the show, atmosphere, setting, and how good the crowd interaction and response all are. I find it crazy to suggest it doesn't matter. :?
A dvd from RAH would have blown the 3 bats straight out of the water for example, even though the show was a bit shorter.

I'd agree many of the US casino shows wouldn't be the best choice, with rows of disaffected high rollers strolling in and out, and high-fiving each other over jokes they're sharing. The Royal Albert Hall is indeed a wonderful venue, and the atmosphere that night was electrifying, but I can understand why Meat wouldn't have chosen to record and use that concert, and it's unlikely now imo to be a candidate for the next DVD should we get one.

However, the atmosphere on the MSO was great, and should Meat release another DVD from a show in Oz it wouldn't be absurd at all in my view. I think Meat is savvy enough to select a venue which will provide the level of audience enthusiasm that makes for a good recording. To me it doesn't matter which country it might be filmed in.

yep she did, during the live rehearsal concert during the summer '93 before the September opening sweep at hudson theater and Canada with jim.

If Lemon never existed, mascuine would've been in the Bat 2 shows and probably the WTTN shows! Meat only had it in the set cause it was his only real "rocker" at the time, until Lemon and Louder came in that is. Louder's a rocker too, but he always had that at the end of the bat 2 sets, and lemon was towards the beginning, like Masculine was.

so in a sense, "Break It" is the 2011 equivalent of Masculine.

Well you're righ tand wrong. Just anywhere isn't good, but you said not another show in Oz.

Melbourne had great atmosphere, Id love another Australia DVD for atmosphere reasons ;)

I agree. And if you look to recent concert DVD's from all different artists, it seems that the ones recorded in the Netherlands always are great. So Meat needs to quickly come to the Netherlands for a show, this month or so.:twisted:

Although Meat is great it took quite some time before the crowd got into the concert. For me crowd atmosphere is also important and Melbourne didn't have the best crowd. I also think that the show should be recorded in a 'non-seated' venue. It bores the freaking hell out of me when I see all these people in their chairs while Meat is rocking the ceiling of a building.

So I agree with Andrew, not another Australia DVD. Perhaps a German or English show (or Dutch as I mentioned above )

If Meat had done the same show as the ones I saw on the UK tour in let's say the Ahoy, Meat's reputation in The Netherlands would have been completely restored. In addition had that particular show then been recorded and released on DVD/Blu Ray it would have been the biggest come back on record since Bat 2. ;-)
