BOOH 2 era for sure.

Not just his look, but EVERYTHING. For sure the best era for Meat. He looked fairly young yet mature and his voice was top notch. Top of his game on all counts.

I also like his BBIS period. Love the white jacket. So 80's...

As for worst looks, I hated the way that he looked during the late 90's. But everyone has their better days.

To be honest, I didn't mind the late 90s..... I don't mind any of the era's lol, just prefer the short hair & unfrilly sleeves. Wasn't much of a fan of the goatee/beard he had going for Bat III though.

I wasn't really a huge fan of the goatee/beard either.

I'd say the Bat II era was my least favourite era. The long hair looked fine on him in the early days but by the Bat II era, I wasn't so sure about it. I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of any of the outfits he wore in that era either.

My favourite look is from the CHSIB to now really. The shorter hair suits him and I think the clothes he's wearing on stage look good too.

The 90's are my top favorite, during Bat 2 and WTTN. The AFL area ;-)

I like the HCTB look. The stylish promo photo's were awesome. Suitably gothic yet mature and edgy at the same time. Incredible look for Meat, IMO

 The late 70's/early 80's, and the Bat II era are the two looks I liked best 8)
His clothes looked so individual in those two times.

I think Meat's always looked right for his age, whatever age that was.

Hard to choose one look, in my head there's 2 different Meat Loaf's (here we go...!) there's short-haired Meat, which is the man I've met and had exchanges and wonderful experiences with, then there's long-haired Bat II Meat which (to me) isn't Meat the man but "classic" Meat Loaf the mega famous rock star who walked down those stairs at the Grammys and who I could only ever dream of meeting, I just can't grasp that it's the same bloke!!

I think if I had to choose one I'd go with Bat II Meat at the Grammy awards, who knew how much him walking down those stairs with his long hair and frilly shirt would change my life!!!

Personally my favorite is the simple black silk shirt from CDC. His simpleest look, and I feel it was his best.

after that it would be the weird sequined shirts from 1988-1991

Yeah I love what he's wearing on stage now, and what he wore during Celebrity Apprenice too. Very classy!!!!

In accord 100% ;)

For me there are two Meats under discussion here .. the on-stage character and the man who creates him. On-stage Meat's always chosen a look that works for his shows. The romantic period was pretty stunning ;)

As the man who creates the character I think he knew exactly the right time to move to short hair. It may have been in part to widen his scope for movie roles, but it also meant he's never looked the oldest swinger in town ;) And on-stage since then he's always chosen stage clothes which have impact and make him stand out for everyone in his audience.

The only "look" that hasn't worked as well for him imo was the Bat3 goatee and stubble, which made him look older .. a shame as he manages to look so years-defyingly youthful most of the time, and has continued since he left it behind :-)

I love the sequinned jackets that he wore on Celebrity Apprentice and on various other TV shows look. My particular favourite is the red jacket with the black shirt, waistcoat and trousers. The black really makes the red stand out and he looks so good in red.

Did not know if I should involve myself in this discussion, because I think most people will disagree with me ... ;-)
BUT my favorite Meat Loaf look, is from Bat III .... ;-)
And I loved his Bad Boy-look with the beard;-) I do not think he looked older, as someone in here write.
Maybe I liked this style better because our Norwegian Marion was part of the era, or that I am a true viking, and we vikings enjoy Manly, Bearded, Strong and Tough guys who look a bit dangerous and scary;-) That`s how Meat looked trough Bat III, and I LOVED it!!!!!

Well, this was just my opinion ...

A true viking is a Norse warrior who takes part in raids or piracy overseas as in "to go viking" and were always male. To refer to someone as "a viking" is a relatively modern turn of phrase dating from the 18th century in English and referred to those involved in such raids. So I assume you don't mean that you are a viking by virtue of being Norweigian alone as that would clearly be a bit of a stretch unless you have traced your family history back to a specific viking lord...? That would be like me stating I was a real knight by virtue of being English alone otherwise...

 I rather think it was :lmao:

However, as an ex officer of the Danish merchany navy, I can state there is at least one Viking on this forum

While all you peasants have got to go to heaven or hell :p , I get to go to Valhalla to drink beer from a ram's horn and give some chick tied to a giant dart board a haircut by chucking axes at her

I'm not so sure I like the look he's sporting at the moment, with all the bling sequin skulls.
It just seems a bit fake at times.

I'm actually with RealViking on this one. his '06 look really stood out. Marion was a great addition to the team, but it really took Ms. Russo out of the picture. Guess that's just the nature of the business.

He's been real experimental with his image of late. And I think that's good on him. So he doesn't have to be just known as the long haired guy with the wild boots from back in the 70's, early 80's.

Haha, well in that case may Odin guide your blade and Thor smite down your enemies with righteous, thunderous might! And sing a song for me in the feasting hall the day you find your way to Valhalla!

I agree! I love how he changes it up, both his hair/stubble and his stage wardrobe. I really like his sparkly vests and jackets right now (HCTB) and I love the rings and other jewelry too; it's different than any previous look he's had. You know what else sticks out in my mind? That soft leather jacket with the long fringe, and those blue glasses from 2005. Awesome!!!

The first bit of concert footage I ever saw of Meat was on VH1 when he stalked out to the piano opening of AFL... eyeing the audience, long haired... frilled ... and I just wanted to die ! I LOVE that look on him... but that was then and that's what photos and videos of that time are for... lol ... THANK LOAF WE HAVE THEM !!!... I think Meat's looking FAAAABulous right now... all trim and loverly ... happy, etc ... yassss ... verrrrrrrrrrry nice... mmm ... OH... that made me hungry for some 1993 video viewing ... lol ... xo
