I wasn't sure where to put this, but if I remember correctly, there are some Meat fans from Norway who post on the forums and I just wanted to express my sorrow for what happened in your country today.

Can see where Meat got the title for the new album, does seem that it's all gone to hell in a handbasket. My thoughts go out to anyone affected by this.

A terrible atrocity in such a peaceful country, perpetrated by an extremist madman, who selected his target for his worst excesses with a sadistic and evil intelligence :( The bombing was awful, but sadly we've come to expect that horror. But what he did on that island defies belief and humanity. Such a horror that it's almost beyond words to convey one's feelings.

 I couldn't believe the news when I heard it.
Norway is a beautiful and peaceful land, and this news defies belief.
I used to dock in Oslo on a regular basis during my days with the merchant navy, and i've got very good friends from those days (who were more like a second family) just outside of Oslo.

Condolences to those who have been touched by this horrific event.

Hey guys...
Thanks for your concerns. This came as a shock to all of us here in Norway. I'm on vacation now in Bulgaria, and were shocked when we heard about this. The death toll is thankfully reduced, if we can put it that way, but is unreal anyway.
It turns out that this man, who is a Norwegian citizen, is tired of immigrants to our country, and it was this that was the main reason for what he did.
The whole episode is so incredibly sad, and that only children between 14 and 19 who were exposed to this, makes it that much worse.
But thanks everyone for their concern and condolences.
It puts all of us here in Norway so very much appreciated. Hope this does not ruin their view of our country, and still think of us as you did before this happened.

Tine, if people allow the acts of a single person to affect their views, I question them to begin with. ♥

For something like this to happen in Norway is very very shocking in my opinion. A truly terrible massacre of innocent lives. It's scary the way he went about killing them too.

Hey you .. do you remember that massacre here in Norway this summer, when the Norwegian man killed 90 children ...
well ..
now he is convicted ....
diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic and thereby not criminally accountable ...

Unbelievable, but true .... so guys ... someone who want tol commit a criminal act, come to Norway, here you do not have to go to jail ......
He had planned it for years....and was not something that he suddenly decided to do. He is sick Yes, but not criminally accountable.......forced psychiatric care isn`t good enough....

If this was in another country, he would have been sentenced to death or life imprisonment .... whereas here, if he had been sentenced to prison, it is maximum 21 years in Norwegian prison for murder, but out in 9-10 years .. maybe 6 years. ... the legal system in Norway is nonsense

Right now I`m ashamed to be from Norway!

Just a little update of what is going on with this situation....

Thanks for the update Tine, but according to the UK press he is due to go on Trial in April, thus maybe it won't make much of a difference this report of his insanity condition.

So public money was spent to deduce if he was insane or not. He was. Yeah no shit Sherlock, I could have told you that.

In my opinion it shouldn't really make any difference regardless if he is insane or not. In the case of such overwhelming evidence I think there is a good justification for execution. I'm not usually a fore-stander of capital punishment but I think if someone is such a danger/threat like he was he has no place in society.

The over-liberal attitude that has gone on in Europe for the last few decades is biting society in the bum in my opinion. We seem far more concerned with the people who commit crimes rather than the poor innocent people who suffer from these insane actions.
I hear "his human rights, his human rights" all the time. In my book you have forfeited ALL human rights if you do something like that and you should be treated like the parasite you really are.

All it will really affect is whether he is sentenced to time in prison or to time in a secure mental institution. Prison sentence is maximum 20yrs in Norway, whilst the mental institution is until he is no longer a risk to the public, meaning he is likely to spend the rest of his days in there (Something that was rumoured to be the preferred option for prosecutors anyway).
