I have a ticket stub from July 9, 1994 at the World Music Theater in Tinley Park, IL.

Awesome man! Though I don't believe most of the Dead Ringer dates actually happened due to the studio or something.
There should be some Aussie dates in the 90's and earlier too, as I know he has been here a few times, but I have no idea of dates, it was all a bit before my time!

You missed at least one German date. I'm pretty sure I attented a show in Leipzig on October 20, 2007 (venue: Arena). ;)
By the way, does anybody know why the first part of the tour was called Seize The Night while the second part was called Three Bats?

Thank you all for the input and corrections. My sources vary from tourbooks to magazines to internet sites (kasiminfo has been a great source, many thanks to that). So it's more than possible that the BA tour dates changed or never happened.
I keep searching and diggin' though. All your input surely helps and is more than just appreciated!

thurs march 18th 1999, was King's Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland... not Scotland ;)

i'm sorry i have no dates or info, but in his to hell and back book, he also says he toured 19 different towns in ireland in 1989 :shock:

The list is far from complete (yet) and some of you already pointed out mistakes in the list to. It's still a Work in Progress ;)
I'm fixing what needs to be fixed and adding what can be added. Including more Aussie dates (although, I guess, for now only the 2011 Aussie dates really matter:lol:)

This is great, I've been wanting a gigography for a long time.
Don't mean to pick holes in the list cos it's a brilliant effort but the 1 date I noticed that was missing was the Reading Festival in August 1988, not sure exactly what date though?

But what an event it was. I bet Meat wants to forget this one asap
Only time I saw Meatloaf was Reading Festival 1988 - he was on mid afternoon on the Saturday and got the full treatment! Result - exit one bruised ego, nursing a broken nose. I can't say he deserved to get a bottle right in the face, but he came on all 'Mega star' and that sort of thing didn't go down well with a Reading festival crowd back in those days....
Meat walked off during the opening number (a cover of 'Summertime Blues'), came back and did a few more songs then walked off again in a hail of bottles. He then came back and in a hasty revision of the set list played 'Bat Out Of Hell ...' which stemmed the tide totally, then started off 'All Revved Up...', got hit square on the nose with a bottle, gave the crowd the finger and walked off never to return.
Meatloaf was such a nice guy.... and really did NOT deserve the reaction he got from the crowd.... I remember telling him...in fact, almost WARNING him about their restlessness and that it might have been a hold over from the previous night... and he was just not hearing it. Sad really because I really was looking forward to hearing his set as I'd never seen him before....or since actually.
WTF :shock:
The bottle throwing at Reading (and to some extent Knebworth in 85) is the reason why Meat hasn't played a UK Festival since.
... yes, it was the Alm-Stadion.

I know he played Corvette's in Burlington, NC in the fall of 1988 and Raleigh NC Memorial Auditorium very early in the Bat 2 tour right as AFL was taking flight, best show of any kind I have ever seen hands down. Wish I knew exact dates. Couldn't have been more than 40 or so people at Corvette's.
Wow a 1988 Summertime blues. Thats rare.... Those ignorant bottle throwing pisswits. He rarley ever started a 1988 show off with a cover. Guess he wasnt feeling Frying Pan.

Hmmm I wonder how many soundboards exist of the shows of the 80s that Adje listed.
Correct me if i am wrong, but some cash could be made of putting some of the 80's shows (especially blind before I stop and 1988 with bad for good) up on like Itunes or a special website for download.
The list just shows even more how staggering it is the amount of shows you have done in your career compared to what has been officially released. All that's been released is a mediocrely produced 1987 live album, Live around the world, Storytellers, and MSO. The shit 3 Bats Live CD doesn't count.
Theres gotta be a soundboard of a 1988 arrangement of Bad For Good in your files somewhere and you can make serious cash just putting that on itunes in its entirety alone around here ;)

I'd thought the opposite to be honest, seeing the dates listed and considering the amount of travel involved between shows tells me that Dire Straits had it wrong when they sang "That ain't working, that's the way to do it ..."

You know, sometimes I wonder why fans keep bothering to work on their little pet-projects. But then I realize, they probably have nothing better to do.

Actually we do this type of stuff for the benefit of future fans.
Before I and a few other loafer got on youtube and started posting stuff, nothing was online to view like they are now.
common stuff like History of Meat Loaf Live, Meltdown, and In The Neighborhood were obscure rarities very little fans saw back in the day.
my little pet-project became a little empire till I got my first termination notice and a bunch of my videos were posted by other people lol. But that doesn't matter. What matters is Now pretty much all of those shows are viewable in one way or another online pretty easily. So future fans have it easy which makes it all worth while.
Adje made a list of dates that wouldnt have been readily accessed two weeks ago. Once his list gets complete it would be an invaluable resource.

I agree, I think it is a very interesting project to see how it has developed over the years fully knowing this is a work in progress. Adje has done very good research considering how little data may be available to compile from so many years back. I think it is a testament to Meat's work ethic and why he is a legend for his performing. No way the list gets completed that fast or without others contributing to help. Good work Adje.

You make some good points, but I wonder if legalities would rear their ugly head. I think that is why Steinman lets his stuff find it's way online, he wrote it and doesn't have to worry about paying anyone. I read where one of the guys from the band Boston "leaked" some stuff online years ago and it actually resulted in improved sales, and nobody knew it was him until he admitted it years after.

I wonder if legalities would rear their ugly head.It's possible, especially with the time period Wario is referring to as I recall Meat sacked a band member for being pissed (or something along those lines.) If they have to give any sort of clearance for their work to be released then it could be a hurdle that isn't worth Meat's effort to jump over. :twisted:

I remember that show and i know Meat does also, rain, rain and more rain, meat said "if any of you BLEEP BLEEP throw any more beer bottles at this stage im gonna leave and not come back" one more bottle came and off Meat went not to return, maybe a 30 minute showing or so...opened with "Summertime Blues"
There was supposed to be a date the night before at The MArquee in London, it got cancelled for some reason.

you're missing the infamous 7/28/2011 Pittsburgh show from the Hang Cool Tour. He also played the Sternwheel Regatta in Charleston, WV on August 25, 1990. Great list Adje, keep up the good work

I live in WV (close to where Randy Flowers is from) and on an odd note, when he played the Regatta here in 1990, the crowd estimates were 75,000.

There were two other dates in Florida at around the same time as the St Pete show.
One was at Finkys in Daytona Beach FL
One was at a fair grounds in Cocoa Beach FL
Grr now I doubt the St Petersburg date. I found the other shows but they were in 1990
EDIT: Hmmm Brassy's Cocoa Beach, FL was also in 1989.

So I'm going through all kinds of ticket stubs sites and found quite a few new dates. But the one that struck me the most is a 1996 from Dubai. Did Meat play in the United Arabic Emirates? Or is this 'Hilton Beach Club, Dubai' some place in the US?
Tour dates lists updated, a total of 67 concerts have been added or corrected by Adje this week.
Of course I deserve all the credit really as I've done all the cut and paste work so you can read them :))

I've come to this thread late and I won't be at home much for a month but there are several missing from 1994 and 1996 which I can fill you in on then.
However I do notice that Monday 21st March 1994 at Wembley Arena is missing and I'm 99% sure that they played on Thursday 24th there (as well as on the Wednesday which is listed).
The 1996 tour started at Exeter Westpoint on Monday 1st April 1996, they then played at NYNEX Arena, Manchester on Wednesday 3rd and Glasgow SECC on Friday 5th.
Other dates I know are:

10th April - Mill Street, Ireland (Mill Street is the name of the town)

I remember the CHSIB promo from Amsterdam in April 2003. After hearing some material from Koln I was very happy to be there! And that show was great!
I got that they were 1996 dates and added the venues. I bet he's gonna do Germany. I hope he can do the Netherlands but I don't count on it. That's okay, I will visit Germany in 2012 :twisted:

Actually, it was explained by Meat himself. He said the cost of doing it was too high due to the german tax situation on performing artists and for that cost to be reflected back on the fans would have meant ticket prices were too high and it wouldn't have been fair to do it. My understanding was he wanted to keep an eye on the situation and see if they could work something else out later down the line.
Meat knows how popular he is in Germany, have no fear of that!

I agree. And it would be good if Meat toured some venues where there are no seats. The crowd is more alive at these places, because they can/must dance :D
I never get why they put seats at a rock concert anyway. But that's an entire different discussion;)

I'm pretty sure I saw Meat Loaf at the Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide, Australia in 1993
It was the first time I saw him in concert, and remember thinking OMG he's gonna bring the building down LOL (it's a very old building) It was, he was and still is AWESOME! I will see if I can find the program and give you the exact day.

I remember that show and i know Meat does also, rain, rain and more rain, meat said "if any of you BLEEP BLEEP throw any more beer bottles at this stage im gonna leave and not come back" one more bottle came and off Meat went not to return, maybe a 30 minute showing or so...opened with "Summertime Blues"
There was supposed to be a date the night before at The MArquee in London, it got cancelled for some reason.
I maybe wrong, but did Meat not walk off twice? Was he persuaded to come back on stage after the first bottle blast only to retreat again shortly after?
That was a crap afternoon!!

I only read 81 and it was wrong ... You may have missed some but it was a great try.. I always thought we did 16 shows at Wembley during the AFL period but I could be wrong . Just remember the Venue told that 16 shows beat Eltons record for shows played in one year there. I did not look to see how many you had.

He definately played Fort Regent (holds 2000 people) in Jersey and would have possibly played Beau Sejour Centre in Guernsey (altough that only holds 400 seated people).
I`m trying to get more info but nothing is readily available, but I do remember him playing Jersey, that is a certainty.

regarding Bat Out of Hell`s 10th Anniversary:
The "big gun" was part of the wonderful stage set for Meat's 1984/5 Bad Attitude Tour. There was also a huge motorcycle which had Andy Wells drumkit on the saddle and Brian Chatten's keyboard riding pillion.
The gun was used in the pyrotechnics display. There's a great picture of Meat holding the gun on the back cover of the "To Hell & Back" biography.
When Meat played the Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in Guernsey and Fort Regent in Jersey in June, 1985 the motorcyle wasn't included but Meat did have the gun. Maybe the motorcycle was only used at the bigger venues.

Big thanks to Andy for updating the new dates to the tourdates topic. I think I have the 1983 tour as good as complete. There were some cities planned (such as Amsterdam) but they never happened. So it seems complete.

I don't really understand what you're saying. Are you talking about a specific year, tour?
EDIT: I think I get it Meat mentioned on stage in Manchester that his first UK show WAS in Manchester,
I don't think that London gig got cancelled. I got it confirmed by a picture of a torn stub. Perhaps he played Manchester before London as I don't have all the 77/78 dates yet. There is a big gap between the last US and first UK date of 3 weeks. Perhaps his tour started end May in the UK.

BTW, i've got a ticket stub from that Manchester gig. The date given is Monday 5th June, but the day has been scribbled out and replaced with "Sun" and the 5 has a number 4 inked over it with a pen.
That would go along with gthe date we have already on the list.
It makes me thing that the date was brought forward by one night, or that there was a mistake made when printing the tickets.
Or perhaps he played it 2 nights in a row?
The problem with the old dates is that they are hard to get and even harder to get them confirmed.

It looks just like the ticket I have (the row on that ticket looks like P, where the row on mine is F). The seller also mentions the date on the ticket being changed.
How weird.
I believe I have a picture of the stub in my collection. I have to look. But if all the dates are corrected they should have charged more than 2,50. Only for administration costs :twisted:

I can't see the original Royal Albert Hall show on the list. This is the one he played for the Prince's Trust. I forget when it was but I think it was on the tail end of the Bat2 tour?
Prince Charles' standing with me rocketed skywards that night and I won't have a bad word said about him. He's part of the Meat Loaf brotherhood.
The concert you're talking about is from November 17 1994 in the Royal Albert Hall.

I could be wrong here but when I saw Meat in Manchester in 1993 I remember him saying the first time he played in UK was in Manchester and was for top of the pops or some other TV show so not technically a gig but a TV show, this could explain it?

It was supposed to be his first concert in my city in almost 15 years. Btw, he still hasn't come back on any subsequent tour. He's toured the UK about 42 times in that time period though.
I haven't looked at all the dates, but I think that Meat's played NY a little bit more. I'm having a hard time relating.
He's only done about 22 tours total :lol: Do you mean 42 shows?

I think I could have been 94 in Manchester the very first time I saw Meat cant be quite sure. Meat got pushed onto the stage on a hospital bed this he had had some health things going on and was making fun of it
I was 14 or 15 and I was being a grumpy teenager Dad took me which now would be great but at that age you really don't wan to go anywhere with your Dad. but if I could only go back and have that one time with him again it would be priceless.
Anyway after the show I was far from grumpy and he was the best Dad in the world well until we fell out again

I probably have the two mixed up but I was defiantly still at school the first time I went and 03 I would have been in my twenty's and I went with a group of people anyways they are all good shows even if I cant remember which one is which :D

It would have been the CHSIB tour in 2003 when, after he dropped like a stone on stage at Wembley, he had surgery for his WPW syndrome. When he returned to the tour he cocked a Meat-style snook at what he'd been through, starting the show by being wheeled onto the stage in darkness on a theatre trolley, we heard the sound of him flat-lining and then Patti and CC in white nurses' uniforms shocked him back to life .. and the show started!! ;) Those shows after his recovery, on stage he was like a man re-born .. which he probably felt he was! :-)

Sounds right. Basically Meat started the tour with AFL. During April 1994 in Europe he started with Frying Pan. Back in the States they first started again with AFL but (I believe in June or July) they started the set more often with Frying Pan. Back in Europe they played the set starting with AFL several times.

That was very weird. I actually remember that being aired. He did this emotional speech thanking everyone for 17 years and you could see and hear Mark Alexander playing the intro in the background. Meat finished the speech and then it cut to Lemon! Pfffft!

I'm coming to this a bit late, but Adge this is glorious! I've always wanted to know the exact date of the first Meat show I went to, and thanks to this I was able to find it: October 1st, 1989. I had the pleasure of being front row right against the stage just inches from Meat as he would dash by. It was at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, Florida. I may have to celebrate this day yearly now that I know it! :-P

The Show in Mannheim 1994 should have been at the Südweststadion.
It was relocated to the Maimarkthalle because of an event of the election campaign of cancellor Helmut Kohl. Trust me, I've been there. And the Radio announcer says the bradcast is coming from the Maimarktahlle as well. Got the message of the relocation one week earlier. The old days without internet.......
I have the poster that states the Südweststadion tough.

I did do a gig where I was the only guitar player in the band, on July 4th 1988 Westport Ct., with Mountain's drummer Corky filling in for Chuck Burgi. The rest of the lineup was the same as usual, the 1988 crew. It was a fun outdoor show!
