I think you could interpret that a hundred ways. My take is Meat will probably stop TOURING in 2013, rather than simply hang up on singing altogether. Yeesh.

IF Wario finds a girlfriend or another major interest aside from Meat Loaf, will that spare us such musings for a while?

I doubt it, it'll probably just result in 16 threads on which is the best song to make-out to.

Blind Before I Stop may be quite apt for Wario :rly:
Meat retiring in 2013..... as written in my Perth Review:
One other thing…. People around here are worrying about Meat saying he’s retiring (I am yet to see the “R” word by the way) I saw something today in the Concert edition of the Sunday times they handed out today, in it, Meat says that he learns something new every night he goes on stage, every time he records, every time he has a meeting about a new character for a film, once you are not interested in learning/evolving/trying new things you should just go fishing.
Now in the post that everyone is taking as Meat’s retirement announcement, he say’s he ain’t going fishing…. I think that just tells us a little bit hey guys He’s just looking for something new to learn

Even if he were to "retire," there's no reason why any set albums would be canned. I don't see retirement in his near future, however.

that's how I read it too! Stopping touring is one thing, can still release albums.like the Beatles. With an additional sports bar on top!
Or maybe he just means stop touring this time around.... because you can't expect him to tour every day of his life..... thats crazy, the man needs SOME time at home!!
He ain't retiring lol, he'll always be doing SOMETHING!

When I read it I assumed he meant stopping THAT tour not in general. I'm probably in the minority but I'm gonna remain optimistic until he says flat out if he will or not

Meat's been threatening to retire since the 'last' world tour in 2003. So I'll believe it when I see it. The man just loves performing despite his best days being behind him, so there's no way I can see him packing it in yet.
If he is going to retire then there's serious unfinished business with the last few Steinman songs that remain unrecorded - WPOMBHTM - to name just one. If this is the end then surely there needs to be a 'Final At Bat' ?
I doubt it, it'll probably just result in 16 threads on which is the best song to make-out to.

Some people said Johnny Cash's best days were behind him by the 1980s. They were wrong about him, and I'm sure the ones who are saying it about Meat will be proven wrong too.

I think Meat means he will end the HIAHB tour in uk, and I think he needs some family time, let's not forget Pearl had a baby and I'm sure Meat wants to spend some time with family, come on this is Meat and he belongs on stage , he is going nowhere!

So very much this.
I seem to remember something from my first meat show ( last year, 7/9/10) that would be appropriate for right now. Meat pulled out his stool and began talking as " 2 outta 3" started and said " now, I know people have been saying I sit down all the time and that im too old blah blah. You know what I say to them? ' you try having thirteen F*%& Concussions and 3(?) knee surgeries and then you try singing Bat out of Hell third in your set, it'll make you feel F*U(^& 62 years old too! And while I may be sitting down and talking to you right now they're gonna have to carry me off the night I die because i'm not going nowhere...."
Meat loves what he does way too much, and while I'd probably be a regular at his sports bar, I dont think Meat would ever be truly be happy doing anything but kicking ass on stage.

Rockers don't retire, they keep on rockin'. I'm just saying...
I agree with that comment above i don't know how to quote the above words because if i could i would.
There is some truth to that rockers don't retire. If he did i would be sad but I am guessing there comes a time when you just need to quit but I am hoping its not any time soon.
Meat Loaf U are an amazing talent. Simply: Thank You!
You have given me and millions many happy memories.

I have a husband that tries like hell to get me anything I ask for. He does this because I rarely ask for anything extravagant. Hell, I rarely ask for anything simple he tells me, lol. He's already told me that if/when Meat comes close enough to us he'll do whatever he can to get me tickets.
Because my Hubby is so awesome, Meat can't retire until that happens ;)
I have a very simple Bucket List
Alabama: Saw them on our honeymoon in 1994
Toby Keith: Saw Sept 2010
Neal McCoy: WILL SEE BEFORE I DIE! His song "No Doubt About It" was our wedding song.
Meat: :D
Oh, and eradicate the planet of spiders (this one may take a few lifetimes)
