View Full Version : We're STILL rocking after 25 years!
Who else really can say that they've been in the music industry for 25+ years? The 80's were alittle rough album wise, but the touring was great and was the great resurrection of "Bat". "Couldn't Have Said It Better" is a refreshing piece of work from a guy who doesn't make albums on the constant pace of other recording artists. The greatest quote I think is by Allen Kovac "Meat doesn't make albums, he makes events." I post on the Steinman site regularly and I think it's unfortunate that everything that Meat does gets constantly compared to the work of Jimmy. I mean, only Jimmy can top himself. To Meat I'd just like to say thanks for still ROCKING after all these years (not to make you feel old). Also, is there any way we could have "Hot Patootie" on the new tour? I saw you in concert January 2, 2003 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando and you were great and I can't wait to see you again. Meat's ear pieces broke in that show and I noticed that his ear pieces seem to break a lot, has anyone else noticed that? Anyway, I guess all I'm doing with this post is basically kissing Meat's ass, but atleast I hope he gets a kick out of it.
I love yah Meat!

Ok, so there are quite a few artists and bands that have been in the music industry for 25+ years, but I was merely trying to say that it in itself is quite an accomplishment.

You look at all these groups that have lasted all these years and you can say one thing, there classics, and will never leave - take bat for instance
Evan said re Meat's concert in Orlando last January:
Meat's ear pieces broke in that show and I noticed that his ear pieces seem to break a lot ...
Yes, that was a great concert .. and I seem to recall Meat said his cans had broken when he slipped and sat on them earlier .. something to the effect that when 240 plus pounds fall on a set of cans they BREAK!! :))

If you count Meat's time with Popcorn Blizzard/Meat Loaf Soul/Floating Circus, he's been in the music industry about 35-40 years (depending on when that started).

I s'pose so. But that's merely a technicality. I mean most of the bands I mentioned were probably in the business in one way or another for years before they made it. Depeche Mode is a perfect example. They were performing for years as No Romance In China. But I digress.
I hereby apologise for hijacking this thread. I'm turning into a thread pirate. 8O Arrrr! Polly want a cracker!
Well if anyone's interested - regardless of which band/singer is still around after a quarter century......I'm 41 tomorrow, so I am still rockin' after 25 years!!! :D Lets here it for the rest of us!!!!!!!!!

Heheh, Moussie is a bit into Meat Loaf i believe hahaha.
But to shorten everything:
The last 40 deccade's were, are and will be from the best rocker ever: Meat Loaf!!!
Well, when it comes to best rockers of the past 40 years I believe three people fit this critique.
Not in any order but
1. Elvis Presley
2. Bruce Springsteen
3. Meat Loaf
