Hey guys!
I was just having a think (please dont it's dangerous!!! Please I beg of you!!!) and I was wondering whatever happens to Meat's old stage clothes? Are they sold on? Given to charity to make money for it? Or are they just binned?
Can anyone shed any light on this question?

Ollie I can't shed any light on it but it's a good question.

:wtf: I guess I'm on the wrong forum.
I know Meat sold vicki his black stage shirt from the storytellers tour :)
He also used his vest from 1993 and 1994 during the 2002 shows.
my guess is they are in his closet somewhere as mementos.
Meat auctioned a stage shirt on his website, and Vicki won the auction .. saying he "sold it to Vicki" makes him sound like a rag and bone man! But I agree he may well hang on to some of them .. he's not someone to throw out shirts he clearly likes to wear off stage, and sometimes waistcoats re-appear, and he's said he hung on to Eddie's jacket from RHPS ;)
Sometimes clothes he's worn in films are auctioned for charity. I believe Monstro has a pretty amazing piece of memorabilia he won on eBay ;) .. and I have the suit he wore in Gettysburg, and and the Tshirt from Fight Club.
And I do not wear them, and I know Vicki has hers framed and on display. Fans being "psychotic", and wearing his clothes or "sleeping with them" was one of Pud's more daft assertions many years ago in some some nonsense attempt to flame .. so let's not go down that sorry route again with "pyjamas"
But they are unique and special pieces of memorabilia. The shirt Vicki won was autographed .. and last December I finally hefted Colonel Divine's heavy frock coat (with original Civil War buttons) to a show and Meat signed it for me ;)

Exactly right Caryl :-) Actually the shirt was from the Just Having Fun Tour and It's a great piece of memorabilia. It looks amazing framed and hanging on my wall. I remember Meat was impressed when I showed him a framed picture of it (Wez even helped me get the picture signed) ... and I'll never forget the look on Meat's face when I jokingly told him I was going to send him the bill for the cost of remodeling the house to make room for it :lmao:
I love that suit .. and I'm so glad you got the coat autographed :-)
I can tell ya that I have asked this question on his Facebook wall a little bit ago and as it stands, that question is unanswered at this time :) .

He most probably is still doing it! He started it before he began touring so i cant see why he would stop now. He's most probably doing his jury service

Good... So this crazy place hasn't influenced me as much as I suspected. :)) ....................... Now where can I get any of Meat Loaf's old clothes?
So why is it necessary to post that icon? I don't think it's crazy for fans to see certain pieces of stage costume (not simply his "old clothes"; this thread is about stage clothes) as rather special memorabilia. Both Vicki's shirt and the suit I have were won in auctions which raised money for charity. Monstro got his on eBay and will know whether that was for charity or not, and even if it wasn't, he was delighted with having something so special, and good for him..
Some fans collect every single version of an album .. right down to ones simply with different coloured covers, or typographical errors. I don't, but would never imply it was a crazy thing to do.
Caryl
Why are you offended by that little GIF and feel the need to justify what you, Vicki and Monstro collect? In case you did not notice, my posts referred to the "pyjamas" allegation.
I did notice. I just found it rather unnecessary, probably because Evil's comment "Some of them are auctioned off for fans to use as pyjamas." was pretty spurious and implied something utterly daft and a imo bit of a dig .. but then we know Evil's way ...
This is a thread about Meat's stage clothes and whether any get sold for charity, so why drag in remarks about his personal clothing, which isn't sold for profit or charity, and which fans don't collect nor wear in bed? Seems at best pretty pointless, or at worst there's an implication there which is wholly unjustified but which strangely tends to surface whenever this topic comes up. Just the way I see it.

Just read this thread, as was before my time here - absolutely hilarious - I'd love to have some memorabilia, especially if I'm allowed to sleep with it - anyone want to sell me something ?

I have no idea, but they'd be nice to get hold of though. Memorabilia would be great to have :) Especially his red jacket and his black vest from the GP tour :):D

I'd certainly like to be able to get some of his old concert clothes, just to frame and keep as memorabilia :D It would be such an honor, and I could pass it down to Jessica, and hopefully if she has kids she could do the same, and keep Meat's memory rocking on :D

I couldn't agree more Caryl :) Imo, his stage clothes she be talked about as collectors items, or being sold for charity. For wearing as bed clothing, I think is dragging Meat into the ground a bit, and not showing respect for something that all his fans out there would kill to have in their Meat collection. I know for one, if I ever get the opportunity, I would frame it, not wear it :) But, all to their own I suppose :|

I agree with you both although I'd have to put it on once or twice to feel what it's like to have something like that on bit yeah I'd definitely have to frame it!

Aw you and Caryl are so lucky :D I hope I can be lucky enough to get myself a piece of Meat clothing from a concert of movie someday. It'd nice to have hanging up, and framed :) One day lol :)

Old stage clother....yeah.....
I have asked Meat before on facebook about his black velvet coat...but saddenly didn`t get any answer....yet though.... ;-)
Loved his Bat III tour with that coat, and was hoping he would wear it again. It looked really good on him....
Asked what he have done to it, if he still have it...and if maby this crazy norwegian superfan could buy it one way or another....have it framed on the wall...It would have a good and safe home here in my viking-house ;-)
Dreams don`t come through for everyone...but what would we do without Hope.....

Anyone for a G string? Going cheap.:!::-)

I still remember my Mom looking at it hanging on the wall and asking me what the white spot was on the shirt  When I told her it was Meat's autograph, she just looked at me and said she thought it was a dirt spot :lmao:.

Awesome!!! Thanks Vicki
I wonder what happened to his Bat 2 multi-coloured jacket the one on Pucture show? when he was singing paradise ''do you like the jacket?'' he asked the audience hell yeah!!
You know giving some clothes for Charity is an excellent idea. May be Loafdom the tutrle could do something like that if they asked Mr. Loaf?! :-) Just a thought.
I have no idea what or where he keeps his previous stage clothes be an awesome collection though. I do like his leather jacket!
I know one thing though and that being a Meat Loaf fan is cool!
Patti's outfits are just as wonderful as Meat's are too 'um colourful?! I really like her dress she wore singing I'd do anything for Love (but I won't do that) again on the bat 2 picture show vhs it was a pure white one with earrings to match the dress colour. Really elegant. Almost classic because of the story in the song.
Meat is very creative and always looks good! :)
that looks really good
Thanks :))
Awesome!!! Thanks Vicki

He certainly does. I remember that checked jacket and him asking the audience if they liked it. And Patti looked very classy and elegant in that white dress.

Thanks Carole :-) Looking back, the only thing I wish I had done was to use a lighter background .. I love the burgundy color, but the shirt would have shown up better if I used a white or bone color. But I had the contractor put a cute little spotlight on the ceiling in front of the shirt .. and now when I turn the light on, the shirt shows up a lot better :))
i like patti's leather jacket on the Australian dvd the one with ''paradise'' written on the back I want one of those.
Speaking of cool clothes. Jim Steinman had the most awesome leather jacket with the ''dead ringer'' front cover art on the back slightly different because it's on clothing. He looks ulitmately cool! Very Meat Loaf esq.
I do like Meat's skull jackets they are cleverly made and the waistcoat skulls are brilliant too!
Vicki that's wonderful you got to keep such classy items! :)
