View Full Version : Bat out of Hell 10th Anniversary World Tour 1988
Can anybody help? Which venue featured the "Big Gun" as a prop on stage - and what was the significance - hubby reckons it was the Hammersmith Apollo,we attended two concerts there in the March of '88, but I honestly cann't remember the stage set up - hope someones brain is a little sharper than mine.

Do you mean the big gun that was on the side of the big bike during the bad attitude tour 84/85? - im not sure though.
I know that when I saw Meat in Sheffield in 88 there was some sort of big mask that was the back drop - there might have been a gun aswell but I can't seem to remember one.

hubby now says also this "gun"appeared at Wembley and at the end of the concert pyrotechnics worked their magic on it. Umm Well :!:
The "big gun" was part of the wonderful stage set for Meat's 1984/5 Bad Attitude Tour. There was also a huge motorcycle which had Andy Wells drumkit on the saddle and Brian Chatten's keyboard riding pillion.
The gun was used in the pyrotechnics display. There's a great picture of Meat holding the gun on the back cover of the "To Hell & Back" biography.
When Meat played the Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in Guernsey and Fort Regent in Jersey in June, 1985 the motorcyle wasn't included but Meat did have the gun. Maybe the motorcycle was only used at the bigger venues.

The edit button is visible when you are logged in. You cannot edit posts being anonymous. Quite logical, eh? :p
Should have mentioned that of course you can see the motorcycle set in all its glory on the Bad Attitude video, though you don't get to see Meat firing the gun!

Yes Diane this is what I remember - the gun and the bike on the Bad Attitude video and I was there when it was filmed at Brixton Academy, hubby still insists it was 1988 - I wonder if as you say the gun was only used at smaller venues i.e. Hammersmith, but then this was the Bad for Good/Rock and Roll Dreams come through concert - I think hubby is mistaken don't you :!:
