Meat Loaf was taken ill today and was unable to appear on the Loose Women programme. He was advertised throughout the show and they showed clips of him waiting in the green room (having fun with a banana on his head) but when he was due to come on the presenter announced he was taken ill, so it may have been something sudden but not sure. Hope it isn't anything serious. Get well soon Meat.

Last night at the signing he looked great, really really well, but I thought he looked tired on Daybreak this morning, suddenly so compared to yesterday.
Get well soon big man!

Take it easy Meat and thanks for a great night in London
Unfreakingbelievable !!! I just sat here with mouth hanging reading this. Tell me again because I'm in the States trying to follow. I know he was in fine form until at least 8pm last night from what I've read... then what ? Is it that he did do one tv show ? or was that radio ? and then off to this Two Ladies show (I think it's said) and ads are running... and you're seeing Meat in the green room at THAT venue (tv show) and then... zap ... he's sick ??? ... I don't understand ... ... Thanks in advance for explanation ... xo
He did a show on Monday night and looked great, then another show and the signing yesterday at which he really did look well. He did a breakfast show this morning but that was a very quick interview, five minutes at most and I thought he looked tired, then the live lunchtime show is the one he's taken ill at...must have been a sudden thing though because as people have said he was fooling around in the green room as he does...maybe just took a funny turn, stomach upset or something?!

Not a clue... Perhaps he ate something that didn't agree with him... If you've been there and done that, as I have been, you know how quickly that can have you off to the loo !!! ... We'll hope that's all it is ... Thanks, Lucy, for explaining Meat's schedule ... It's hard to keep up when he's on a whirlwind promo tour ! ... xo
Following on from some of the questions in the album signing thread, Meat did actually shake hands with people last night.
One of the first people in the first group to go up offered their hand, Meat shook it and the security guards didn't mind, so once people had seem one person do that and get away with it, everyone did it!
I can't imagine he'd catch something that quickly but after all that talk in the other thread about keeping him away from germs this is just bad timing!
Thanks Lucy ... I can't keep up with his schedule either, and didn't know he did an interview this morning. It's a shame he had to miss this one :( but IMHO hopefully it wasn't anything serious, and he'll feel better soon.
Take care Meat and try to get some rest !

Press are picking up on the story now. Hope it is nothing serious. It could just be exhaustion it's just the good spirits he seemed to be in backstage that is a little worrying.

No he wouldn't .. it would take longer to develop. As Sue says, a stomach bug can his suddenly, or he might have had a bout of vertigo .. or it might be the reason given for some other emergency.
And the man is indomitable .. hope whatever it may be is resolved soon, and he's back to the picture of rude health he was last night :)

Where did you hear this?
Hopefully it wasn't too serious and he can attend. I'd like to think he'd take time to rest if he still isn't well though x
All the best Meat - & take your time getting better. Nothing worse than rushing back when you are not ready!
Take good care of yourself, Meat; hope you feel better very soon!!

Bearing in ming as well that he's just flown over here and has done two breakfast shows, which is an early morning to get in to make-up, he could just be a bit out of synch with himself, out of his normal routine

I delayed going back to work to watch Loose Women!
Pleased he is back up and running.

Jack Whitehall (the awards presenter)
@jackwhitehall
Can't wait to see Meat Loaf at the NME awards. Maybe I should have other priorities but I will find out what 'that' is!!
So i believe Meat was scheduled to appear. Whether or not he will tonight we will find out.

Exactly. He didn't feel well enough to do the show. When he's ready he'll probably say more. Meanwhile, in the real world, Meat doesn't look himself leaving the studio, and I hope he's back to being his chipper self soon. But the speculation and news reporting does have a Mark Twain ring to it

How can you possibly think Meat Loaf of all people would leave a show because he heard something that had offended him? Do you think he's some spineless shrinking violet who's afraid to stand up for his beliefs? You'd think someone who's as devout a fan as you are would know better. Your comments show a lack of respect for him that to be honest, amazes me. You're accusing him of being a liar and a coward.

The articles state he was unwell and that is what I believe is the truth. He was probably annoyed more at having to miss out on something that he was booked to attend. Meat is a professional who wouldn't cancel a TV appearance that he was scheduled to be on for a reason like that.

I totally agree. It would be unprofessional and rude to walk out of a show due to a lack of patience. Meat is not unprofessional or rude. As the article posted here said, he was ill - which I believe 100%
I'm sure Meat would have wanted to do the show, its promotion for the album after all. But that shouldn't come at the expense of his health, so I'm glad he decided to leave when he fell ill. Glad its something not too serious as well :-) x
I really don't think this line of suspicion even needs considering let alone elaborating on.
As has already been said, Meat is here to promote his album and he will do so in a professional manner. Meat might agree with you, he might think that a show like Loose Women is the biggest waste of his time possible, but he would never just up and leave for any reason other than ill health.
The fact of the matter is that he - like any artist - needs to sell albums and then sell concert tickets, neither of which he is going to do if he deliberately puts himself in the public eye as a stuck up diva who can't wait another couple of minutes to do an interview, it would be suicide in his liine of work.

I'm staggered that anyone could even think that of this hardworking, committed and totally professional man, let alone make such a daft statement. Meat is always spoken of highly in his profession as someone who gets there on time, prepared, and waits until he's called. He is a team player, not some diva posturing and behaving as if he's the most important person on a set, and he is well-mannered, polite and charming. He will have been angry with fate that he had to leave. It was a preposterous suggestion when Warrio made one similar, and this is equally ridiculous, demeaning of Meat and his professionalism, and really rather impertinent.
And they will have pitched all the shows that Matty has put forward, and Meat will be doing the ones offered.
I'm sorry he had to pull out, but pleased to hear it's a minor, if discommoding bug, that he will shake off fast and be back to his energetic self again.
Caryl

The fact of the matter is that he - like any artist - needs to sell albums and then sell concert tickets, neither of which he is going to do if he deliberately puts himself in the public eye as a stuck up diva who can't wait another couple of minutes to do an interview, it would be suicide in his liine of work.

 This.
Can we leave the BS conspiracy theories alone now please?
Any more posting of outlandish theories without any sort of evidence that Meat did not appear on Loose Women or at the award show due to anything but ill health will be treated as trolling.

Thank you :-)
I think with all the concerns the press have with Meats health it wouldn't have been wise to have been offended and say you 'were ill'. Hopefully a spokesperson or the man himself can give us a bit of info soon.
I recorded Loose Women on Sky+. Gutted we didn't get to see him chat with the ladies. He has been on the show before and has them all in bits - Me too.
When he was on Daybreak, he told John he wasn't feeling well and had tissue in his hand. Prob a mix of JetLag, Tiredness and Flu.
Get Well Soon Meat hunni cuz we all loves ya xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Meat is human like everyone else, get well soon. :-)

Meat fell ill, give him a break. Even if he only got a few minutes on the show it would probably have been the most entertaining part as I'm sure the presenters would have agreed. I'm sure he didn't plan this or wanted it to play out that way. The fact that he pulled out at the very last minute to me shows he wanted it to be great but just couldn't go ahead.

Davy Jones was less than 2 years older than Meat and died the day Meat took ill. Life's short and entertainers, like anyone else can be taken from us at any time. Let's be glad Meat's going to be fine and will live to live another day and sing another song, and move on?

Meatloaf was unable to appear on ITV's Loose Woman not long after he placed a banana on his head...

mlukfc welcomes honest debate and opinion.
We do not welcome offensive pie in the sky theories which have no other basis in reality other that one person thinks it might have happened.
We do not need shaking up just for the hell of it.
If you think something might have happened a certain way, sit on it until you have something to support your theory (and make damn well sure it's something tangible).
Especially when it is something other members (not least of all Meat himself) might find offensive and insulting.
I'm going to leave this thread locked for the time being so everyone has a chance to read this post rather than breeze past it.
We don't want to issue any more points if we can help it.

If you mean Loose Women, it's a talk show. They might play a clip, but don't invite performers to bring their backing bands and perform. He didn't bring the band, didn't "mime" on any show he appeared on .. I think he would have simply been amusing, made some intelligent comment and promoted the album, just as he did when he appeared on the show the previous times

Ahhh. Well hopefully when he gets to the states well get some tv performances, mime or live. I know for his other cancelled tv appearance due to his twisted ankle, he was gonna mime Live or die, i thought he said. would've been interesting.

Agreed. I always wondered what meat would look like in black n white make up acting out the lyrics to his songs.
Who's gonna sing though?
;)
By "mime" in america it means Lip Synch. Or Playback. That's what i meant.

Not quite what I had in mind, but I do find it interesting that Wario titled it as a lip sync.

Omgoodness ! Is this the video of WarieL lyp-synching California Isn't Big Enough ? I'm sitting here thinking to use the words "I made the mistake of watching this video" ... however... lol ... it made me laugh so heartily, I'm glad I watched. Only problem is, when I listen to CIBE, this video runs through my head !!! Kind of scary, I guess, but it does give me a gosh darn good laugh every time !!!
Wario, you are completely MAD!!!
