As some of you know we're looking at opening our own recording studio, biggest stumbling block was (WAS) a mixing desk, we were looking around at some that would do us a turn until such time we could afford a 24 channel Soundcraft Ghost, kind of the industry standard for analogue recording.
That was until this evening when the god of Ebay scored this, a 32 (yes, 32) channel Soundcraft Ghost at a never seen before price!!!!!!!

nice bit of kit that, especially if you can pick one up for a bargain price. Is it the standard version with automation?

So it's the LE then. I get what you say about parlour tricks, but I was referring to mute automation rather than motorised faders. Imagine 24 or 32 tracks with the faintest hum during 'silent' parts of that particular track, eg amp buzz on an electric guitar input, or hiss from a tape input etc. added together it wouldn't just be a barely audible hum anymore. You could manually mute/unmute channels as per a cue sheet when mixing, but automation makes it much much simpler and less stressful. Still though, it's a very very nice console!

Not the LE, sorry, thought you were referring to the motorised faders
