Hey Meat,

You said the "Rolling In The Deep" was the best song of the last decade and that Adele sang the hell out of it, sorry mate but I gotta disagree, you gotta listen to "Set Fire To The Rain", now she does sing the hell outta that!!!!

Have to say, I agree with Meat on this one, love Rolling In The Deep, awesome song. Set Fire To The Rain is very good too.

For the whole of last year, every six seconds someone bought a copy of her album, she's outsold everything released since god knows when. You two need to get out more.

 She's so famous she needs no freaking surname

So much time was spent talking about her worldwide that it was discovered that the average conversation would move 28% faster if you ommitted the time it took to keep saying her surname throughout the convo.

As more and more people were talking about her every day, it was only a matter of time before this 28% stated to be an issue of some alarm (every conversation would just consist of her surname repeated over and over again in a bid to catch up. All other subjects (the other 72%) would be dismissed as side tracking or off topic as there was no time left for it).

The solution was that everybody with the first name Adele would have to change it to something else, meaning her full name would be faster to say.

Adele May became Teresa May who is now something in some ministry in London.

Adele II wanted to keep her name and be a trib act, but the legal chaps said no, so she's now known as Elizabeth II.

Lady Adele Sugar changed her name, dragged up with a fake beard, and now (if I understand correctly) makes it a point to fire everyone who works for her once a year.

Katie Price became Jordan, but that's nothing to do with Adele, that's just a cynical marketing ploy to turn herself into a product

It's not a long term solution, but it has helped the world cope in the interim.
Babies are no longer allowed to be named Adele (not even as a middle name) and the future may require that the initial A be reserved exclusivly for Adele.

This will require a new dictionary to be printed.

The first word in the new dictionary will be Adele, the second will be Bbrdvark.

For me, it's one of those names I can't get away from, but off the top of my head I couldn't name a single song or album she's put out (even though i've just read some in this thread before I started tryping the above waffle :? ).

What i've heard i've liked. I must get round to listening to more of her stuff, but i've said that plenty of times lol.
I have no idea what her surname is

I hate something like you it sounds like a bitter drunk ex girlfriend making up a song walking home from the pub completely wasted; Rolling in the deep is a really good song and set fire to the rain is phenomenal

I don't listen to the radio or watch music channels. I get everything from word of mouth, and that usually doesn't include pop music.

Adele is a very good artist, but her stuff has been overplayed to death. If I ever have to hear Someone Like You again, it will be too soon x.x

I never get tired of her stuff. I know what you're saying Monstro, set fire to the rain is amazing, not sure if it's better than rolling in the deep though, i'd say it's as good at least.

I think Adele is wonderful. She has a brilliant and pure voice and has had very good fortune with the songs on her albums. I find the irony of people on this forum talking about songs being "overplayed" when the artiste du jour of this very forum can barely seem to get one play of his songs. Any artist who gets on the Clear Channel list, at least in America - they are either doing something right or have the right people behind them.

Adele is pretty damn awesome. She has a fab voice and has that special innate connection with the audience Meat has as well in my opinion. And she writes her own great songs, what's not to love?
Saw the Albert Hall show on tv a few weeks ago, quite special.

She deserves every success because she is someone who has done everything herself, she is completely self made in terms of her success. And more than that she has bucked the trend in terms of what you have to look like to make it in the music industry.

I would say 90% of the female pop stars now have their songs written for them, and are chosen because they have the looks. Adele bucks all of these things. She writes, she sings, she's not stick thin but she should be proud of it because she looks classy unlike the 90% who look trashy.

Just look at Rihanna, how trashy is that girl? It seems these days if you want to make it as a female pop star you have to look good and show as much skin as possible, as well as singing about sex of course, seems less and less about music these days.

Really weird too as I saw that Battleship film Rihanna is in. She looked VERY plain in that film to me, thus a lot of the sexing up she seems to have in her videos etc must in a large part be due to make up, clothing, camera angels and specific poses/dance moves I think. I'm not saying she is ugly. Far from it. But there is definitely an image portrayed of her which of pretty much all sex surely? Regardless of what she is singing about.

Adele gets slated a lot for being slightly overweight. Yet look at how pretty she looks holding all these Grammys here. Stunner.

I notice that her appearance has definitely changed a lot since the first time I saw her performing, but she is always lovely. The music business is obsessed with youth and looks, which is a shame because many great artists get overlooked.
