I note that he seems as committed to the album as ever, considering that he just released two substantial ones in about as many years, and he corrects me again. “See, there's where you're wrong,” he says with a chuckle, without expanding on the thought. Perhaps he's planning some kind of announcement, or working on a non-album project? “Wait until October,” he says. I press him further, but he remains tight-lipped. “There should be an announcement some time the end of October,” he says. “You'll find out then.”

I am thinking several possibilities. This line really makes me wonder if..

So one is substantial and the other isn't? Or he is no longer committed to HIAH. Or the journalist has got his quotes wrong. :bleh:

Its so vague its impossible to guess what the announcement will be. May be Meat is just playing with the interviewer ?

It sounds more like he's open to expanding beyond the full-length album format. Maybe this suggests he'll be doing some non-album singles? Or maybe the Christmas album will be download-only, or something of that nature?

By the way, I'm Brian - long time reader, less frequent poster. If anyone's going to the Milwaukee show, I'll be in the 6th row. See you there!

I think Meat was very serious and I really hope it is what I'm thinking, as impossible as that may seem.

I'm thinking non-album single is possible, but if it is it must be major.

I'm thinking a meat + jim record???

This was my very first thought (or maybe a song or two / EP), but I don't want to get my hopes up :3

Also, is this maybe connected to the "something is happening" in regards to the reasoning for taking down all the YouTube videos?

Could it be an official announcement about the Bat musical? Maybe Meat confirming his casting as Captain Hook or something?

Hopefully something is brewing for Bat 2's birthday regardless.

Trying to put it in context of the way it was said leads me to think this will be much more than even the last 2 albums. I doubt it is something mundane. Meat wouldn't hype it at all unless it was truly something amazing. I get the idea he was extremely pleased with whatever it may be.

 We'll we've had the collectors edition already, but hopefully there's more stuff that they can put out.
God, can't believe it's been nearly 20 years

I hope so, because a lot of what they've already put out isn't the best.

I doubt it. With Meat hating performing AFL these days and even omitting it at a show and many people simply have forgotten the album exists (in comparison to Bat 1 that is at least) I doubt Meat would be very involved with anything Bat 2 birthday related.
