lol that's funny, after all these years and numerous rereleases there are still people that dont have it?
edit: just realised this is exactly the same special edition that was released in 2006, the only difference is the 3d cover, when Meat saw it on the One Show he didn't seem to know about it being rereleased, but then he also wasn't surprised as they continue to make money out of it.

Just goes to show that a little promotion goes a long way. And maybe inspires a whole new generation of fans who hadn't heard of him before. .
Meat announced this at the show tonight and was clearly pleased and touched by the news.

I think part of it is because people buy multiple copies. There are people like me that have gone thru numerous copies of it, in various formats - vinyl, cassette, CD, etc. I keep either losing them, breaking it or just plain wearing it out from playing it so much. I am on either my 9th or 10th copy at the moment. LOL. Seriously - I have gone thru that many copies of BOOH!
I am glad to see it back in the charts.

Yes, Meat told us last night :)

If it could edge up one place for its highest ever
I felt so proud of Meat last night when he announced this, to have come full circle for the final tour just seemed so poignant!
And if Bat was at no. 9 even before the second show of the tour, who knows where it could be by the end!

Maybe it will help "Brave & Crazy". Shows a little promotion goes a long way. Would love to see the new CD chart so high.

What chart?

Just got the sales from yesterday and Meat is at number 12 in the mid-weeks... but... his week on week sales for Monday were up 21%. There are 4 strong selling new releases also.

Why? It's amazing IMO
sucks its in the charts cause of a rehash.
Bat Out Of Hell was recorded many, many years ago. There is no way it could possibly be back in the charts (in its original form) and not be a rehash...unless I am missing something??
Bat out of hell has stayed at number 9 in this weeks album chart!!!

Meat is on tour playing Bat, so logically Bat has been reissued to coincide with that, and has a very good publicity campaign behind it for the first time in quite a while.
This reissue helps people discover (and rediscover) an iconic work. How can a Meat Loaf fan be against that?

Because if something new was added to the package then many who already own the album may have bought it again and it may have gone higher than 9?
Great to see it doing well again,

Wishing for things that we're not getting doesn't make the things that are available bad.
I don't see what the moaning is about. Be happy that Meat is in the top 10 for a second week.
Sales were down 0.9% on last weeks sales but a charge over the weekend pushed the album up from 12 on the Friday mid week to 9!
This is quite an achievement as there was 5 strong new releases last week and BOOH outsold 3 of them knocking them out the top 10.

Agreed. Bat is Meat's most famous work. Arguing about a re-release doing well by fans seems crazy to me. Just like those assholes who are rating the album 1 star over at amazon. That surely is MORE stupid?
You don't have to buy every re-release, no one is forcing you.
I'm happy new people are discovering Meat and Jim's music. Better that than everyone liking Justin Idiot Bieber.
Great stuff it's still in the top 10.
