In case any of you don't know, Australia now has another musical reality show based on Pop Idol and American Idol, called Australian Idol.

It has just started showing in New Zealand. A male contestant sung a few lines of "Everything Louder Than Everything Else". He was very poor, although I commend him on his choice of song. I didn't see whether he made it to the next level, although based on his performance, I don't think he would have (or should have).

A guy looking vaguely like Meat Loaf (with long hair) sung the Bat Out Of Hell chorus. As he got toward the end of the chorus, he started walking towards the judges, and ended his performance partly on the table the judges were sitting at. The judges actually liked him and let him go to the next level. I didn't like his performance, although it was a good choice of song! Perhaps if he did another non-Meat song, I might have thought more highly of his vocal abilities.

I would love to go on something like that and become a total rebel, but I haven't got the guts. And as they only cover other songs, it opens the door for lots of Meat Loaf songs, although I would choose some of my other favourites.

But can anyone sing a Meat song? I doubt it.

Didn't someone impersonate Meat on Stars in their eyes? I never saw it but i'm sure it happened.

The person who sang Bat Out Of Hell in the auditions has now been eliminated by the judges.

Too right, Tim. The horrors it has spawned for us. Unspeakable.

Why is it everyone says they hate these people bit they still do well? Can little pre pubescent girls reall keep a pop "star" afloat?
